Apparently the librarian has recently identified a picture of Ted Kaczynski as the man who was wearing a wig in the library that day. Aardsma attended the University of Michigan during the same year as Kaczynski and may have encountered him. The Unabomber is also currently being investigated for the 1982 Tylenol murders in Chicago.
@UntilWeFindtheCure Sorry, not buying it. Kaczynski finished at the University of Michigan in the spring of 1967. Betsy Aardsma didn't enroll until the fall of 1967. Even if they had been there at the same time, or if Kaczynski hung around after finishing his PhD, the chances of a meeting are extremely remove. She was an undergraduate English major. He was an anti-social PhD candidate in mathematics.
I remember reading about this case many years ago. I also remember that there was a murder just off Penn State's campus (above a jewry store?) in about 1986 or 1987. I don't remember that poor woman's name now.
