  • Squids should stop posting about there TL's GSXR's and ZX whatevers the RC51 is a F'ing legend winning all kinds of super bike titles. An RC51 is a highly collectible bike something a Gixxer and ZX will never be. At least TL's are a bit of a collectible but there a rarity because they weren't that great of a bike.

  • I have the zx10r and i don't have to 'blip" anything. I do have to sometimes sit forward to prevent a loop. Pure power wheelie requires no "blip" on a powerful machine. Just roll on quick at around 7 k and pray.

  • SHIT MOTO

  • @86chanko rider weights, what is the diff? and experience in the bike, does the r6 guy thrash his bike (take it to the limit) everywhere he goes for years? how about you? and also its 5 years older, thats like ~30 years in car tech difference. machining and engineering tech have seriously changed + that bikes weighs an easy 30 lbs lighter than yours, and how did you race, roll or a dig?

  • My97 Tl1000s snaps it up in 2nd no problem . In fact I went to a Dyno day at the local track a couple of summers back and My bike beat 2 RC51s by about 1 bhp . The RC owners were pissed .

  • Just roll and pull it up some?

  • nice 2 gear roll on......my sp1 does the same, power wheelie's on demand, love the big twin's

  • that was nice man

  • I have ridden an rc51 sp2 demo, and I promise it takes NOTHING to rock a second gear wheelie outta her. She is just so frigging torqueeeee...

    Bad girl.... *slaps butt*

  • i have an 02 sp2, and i need to know what gearing would be good to get wheelies out of 2nd gear, i cannot do it now.

  • @fruckinaimsuks stock gearing. learn to bounce it a little bit

  • stocks gearing ??? i had amille there lighter and more powerfull could pull up in secound

  • thats no power wheelie, a power wheelie is when you give gas and the front goes just up and not blipping the throttle

  • @hpidude - blipping the throttle is giving it gas??? Mate thats a power wheelie plain and simple... If there's no clutch, its pure power lifting the bike even if shocks need to be preloaded.. If you don't blip the throttle your generally going fairly fast for the front to lift.

  • Very nice. Thats a good power wheelie. You can tell you know when to do it for those perfect results to :)

  • looks good, sounds good, but only thing i disagree on you with is powering up in second stock, the gearing is entirely to tall, i've owned my 02rc51 for 4 years, all i have is exhaust, flapper, soft rev limit remove, and it will NOT power up in second, i also weight 215. BUT as soon as i dropped to a 15-42 gearing its hard to keep the front down in 2nd

  • dang

  • @Mknauer50 gixxer's, ninjas and 929s are also race bikes.

  • @Mknauer50 gixxer, ninjas and 929s are also racebikes.

  • @Mknauer50 giixxer, ninjas and 929s are also racebikes....

  • That was an awesome 2nd gear wheelie.

What's with all of the hate these days on bike wheelie vids on YOUTUBE?

Stop hating you keyboard warrior dickheads.

  • nice 9)

  • Great winter bike

  • my brother has one of these and just hitting the throttle alone will lift the front off the ground, but his gearing is set for exceleration

  • get yourself a 1000cc and you can power wheelie all day long with no effort whatsoever.

  • that is definately just throttle alone because if he slipped the clutch you would hear the bike rev up then the engine would come under load again

  • rc51 is my favorite honda!! those bikes can power up big time. tons of torque unlike a 600 inline

  • haha why are there so many non-beleivers?

you can see the throttle action, hear it, and the power that gets the front wheel up is from the bars being jerked back.

simply rolling on in 2nd wont power it up.

  • nice wheelie, definitely powered. i do belive i could power it up without goosing the throttle. i mean after all my 600rr can power up in 2nd with stock gearing. so why wouldnt an rc51?

  • He clutched that up for sure!

  • they must be weighted much more on the front end because off power alone i cant lift the front wheel off in second. need lower gearing. crazy too because they pull so dam hard and dont wheelie.

  • kinda dangerous to do power wheelies.. but thats how you do em.. nice 5/5

  • Will a stock RC51 lift off of power in 2nd gear?

  • Good god. Not only are most of you tone deaf but you obviously can't ride very well either. A stock RC51 is easily wheelied off the power in 2nd, and this bike was far from stock. 140whp, 439lbs fully loaded.

  • Agreed.

Though I agree with tl1000beast that he doesn't have to shut the throttle to get the wheel up, but it's just quicker.

  • @JD0013 Mine won't do that. I can snap the throttle in first and the front doesn't come up very easily. I have a 2006 with Akrapovic slip ons, PC3 and a custom map made by Erion Racing.

I think it depends a lot on where you sit, too. I don't sit back on my seat or anything so I probably don't help the already-up-front weight of the bike to wheelie. (that, and I'm 225 lbs haha)

  • @TheMachRider Doesn't meter how much you are weight. Rev it in first til 5000rpm release the throttle hard and then full throttle it will pick you up as a little boy or you with your 225 lbs friend. You just didn't do it right.

  • @zelibober Yeah it had been awhile since I tried. Did it the other day, came up no problem at all. apparently wasn't doing WOT like I thought i might be, just twisting my grip to what felt like WOT.

  • @JD0013 Holy hell, 140 hp ... thats some crazy shit. My zx636 has got 129 hp and thats got far more cc's on the RC51. Those bikes are pretty insane.

  • @DaveWest07 RC51 is a 1000cc bike, just V Twin engine. Is that 129hp at crank or wheel? Because my modded GSXR 1000 (2005) has 166 at the wheel and about 200 at crank.

  • @SaturnSc2Modder Oh right, not sure what I was thinking then. Umm not sure, I just looked up the specs of the zx6r online, was a freakin awesome bike. Has since been written off though, stupid bitch pulled out in front of me. I've now got a 2005 Yamaha R1, and again, looking at specs online, think it's 171 hp (?)

  • I had a 200 rc51 they dont wheelie in 2nd. Every guy i talked to who has one or had one said it cant be donel And i could not get it up with stock gearing. that was clutch. I never had to back off the throt to get mine up in first 2nd no way!

  • Definitely a power wheelie. He closes the throttle and then quickly cracks it open to bring it up. Watch the front forks compress as he closes the throttle and then rebound as he rips it open. Helps get the front wheel up. That and there wasn't even the sound of a clutch slipping. Look AND listen.

  • Power wheelie! EOD

  • sekond gear with cluch on 4000rpm :) hehehe

    i konw i have som rc51

  • i dont think he clutched it either, v-twins have massive low-end torque

  • im not so sure with a twin i think he shut off and then whacked the power on to get the wheel up,go on my channel check out r1 wheelies through village, thats me CLUTCHING up the bike, then watch this guys vid again im certain it was power, twins are very different!

  • it was a clutchin wheelie granted the RC51 does have enought power to do a power wheelie...

    dont lie :)

  • I agree, no clutch. I ride em both ways. Tend to close/open when doing stand-ups but clutch when sitting. When u close/snap open RCs make that quick BLAAAAAP with no sliping sound... What a Pig they are to wheelie. lol

  • No, I didn't. Listen, there is no clutch slip.

  • @JD0013 There was no clutch action what-so-ever. He brought up the revs, let off, and snapped the throttle.

  • @JD0013

Awesome wheelie mate.. Full power wheelie, didn't know you could do it that easily.. I am struggly to do it on my 08 R1 in 1st gear.. Admittedly I am scared and theres not many big roads in central London to practice on.

  • @chawness you are crazy, that was pure power

  • @chawness there was no clutch involved, he just barely lets off to compress the front shocks and cracks the throttle, you dont need to clutch a v twin going that slow

  • @shepkimberly agreed, i own an 03 sp2 and it's not hard to bounce up a second gear wheelie. no clutch needed.

  • @chawness I also own an RC51, he did not clutch that one up. It's pretty obvious.

  • @chawness that was a roll off roll on .... no clutch

  • if you listen to the revs all he does is give it a kick in the guts to get the wheel up there is no clutch use or changing down gears.

  • Power wheelies are usually when the front wheel comes up at full throttle.. not when shutting it and then opening again.

  • it's still a power wheelie dude, whether he uses throttle to help it or not.

  • Mkay, got a point there. Its just not the way i'd do it, thats all.

    - On the power

    - With the clutch

This way sux for the chain, sprockets etc... but since I don't pay the bills... keep doin it :P
