Good video, but really needs to be re-edited so that we can see the slides he refers to. They are available for download, but it would enhance the video so much more if they were interspersed with the narrative.
28:45 "from agricultural lands that are abandoned because there's no water"
google. com/search?q=hitssquad+billion+gallons+of+water "Mar 29, 2011 – The earth's crust has 3.6e20 gallons of water -- or 52 billion gallons per person. Are you still sure it's a problem? -- hitssquad"
If you consider the underlying message of the occupy movement around the globe, the current inequality of "ecological footprint" is clearly visible. How does one achieve a more equitable distribution of our tiny planet's resources. That is assuming that it is ours for the taking (big question there) Many brilliant minds throughout our history have pondered this predicament. (Marx comes to mind, has history proved him wrong?) I'm afraid I'm not very optimistic of a positive outcome.
Kratax: 'Super powers' require super input of resources. An army doesn't work if the soldiers can't move or are hungry. I believe what's more expectable is the scene which occurred in Argentina some 11 years; Google and find the descriptions...
@PermaMax Right, but no one said you would have to wait until everything is scarce. Though, I kind of don't believe in wars, but if things go really restless, then there might fly scraps in the air anyway.
Sounds like the humankind is going to face the worst case scenario. Or do you really believe, that humans _suddenly_ change? Saving and preservation of resources might become popular and after that necessary, but after that scarcity will become just the norm. Humans will eat lesser beings and their dogs rather than starve to death, which means unrest and war. Why do you think that there would ever again be no wars? There is no reason for that. Currently super powers are just in cold balance.

This is the kind of video that should have the most views. 6.000.000.000 to be more precise.

The global population is almost, or about, 7 billion. It first reached 6 billion back in 1999/2000.
