all you have to do is use Spellbinding Eye on the last level boss and he NEVER gets a chance to attack. In fact it was so effective that it made the ending disappointingly anticlimactic. It was bittersweet because it was awesome to slaughter the last level boss (of all the enemies in the game!) but cheap because it was very literally NO CHALLENGE.

What a mockery Game Arts did. They made the last boss the easiest boss in the entire game. I freaking love this game, but the boss should have been stronger.

much easier on the three headed boss... gud thing it doesn have sudden death skill like that of the three headed boss...and gud thing it the last boss has no party...i use ryudo's flying tenseiken...i haven't used sky king slash on the final boss since it has no other party...
Don't ask me why, but I always finish off this boss with that dragon lightning spell, and pretend is "Dragon of the Darkness Flame" from Yu Yu Hakusho. so cool

I actually still have my Dreamcast and just starting playing this game again for the first time in years. Not just on Dreamcast, but for all the systems I have, (DC, PS2 and PS3) this is one of the best RPG's I've ever played, and after all these years, I'm still enjoying it. Yeah, the graphics aren't that great by today's standards, but Sega DC was way ahead of it's time. BTW, Ryudo should have been fucking Millenia every chance he got!!!
I honestly didn't like Grandia 2, Extreme, or 3. I think Grandia 1 looks good considering that it has more than just the main storyline, including some optional bosses, but aside from getting through the main game again, there's no replay value to any of the titles in this series...and Melfice should have been the last boss. Freakin' killed him off right when it was getting interesting, and instead we get morbidly obese pope.

Yeah its a really easy battle, especially when compared to the first time you fight him, it took me about three or four tries to beat him in his first form.

I agree Zera was was too easy to beat. I've completed this game more than twice now. The first time I found those floating eyes pretty hard....and Melfice was a challenge both times...the more you play the game though, the easier it gets, but that is to be expected! Why didn't Grandia 3 come to the uk!!!? gr I was annoyed for weeks. :(
Meh, don't get your hopes up with Grandia 3... It's no where near as good as this one... Amazing gameplay and areas but weak story, annoying characters that fit into every rpg stereotype and a new annoying magic/skills system.. I's still fun tough... Oh and there's no sidequests like this one sadly... =[

I remember the hardest game for me at the time, given my characters' stats at that point in the game, was when you first fight the Eye of Valmar in that girl's head.
I must have fought him 20 times.
I actually fought him so much that my disc got fucked up and I had to have it repaired at Gamestop.

i remember getting both this and skies of arcadia for christmas on the dreamcast...i know i will piss a lot of you off, but i vastly prefered skies of arcadia..the design in this game, especially the towns, was too by the numbers for me
My strategy: All chars Power Up so all stats are +5 and at the same time lower all Zeras stats to -5 so you are the strong one... Then I just owned him with few strikes.

Well i agree with everyone here, that "End Boss" sure is a lame excuse for of a Boss. There is an even easier way to defeat him, just spam Spellbinding circle and the poor sob won't be able to do ANYTHING at all, except groan lol.
that ba-boom! move is actually one of the strongest monster moves, but thats maybe only for one monster....don't remember the name...but i think it was some red monster...same one like in garmia tower top floor only red....

Yeah the Devils in Raul Hills Special Stage. They do the move right off the bat and kill you if you're surprised by them. If you surprise them or enter a normal battle where neither side is surprised then they still have a chance of doing the move but it's not very high.
best game ever for the dream cast played it like 3 times haha valmar is also easy i think the hardest boss for me was the monster with the 3 faces took me an hour the first time.. UGH
and if you wanna be really funny just have Millenia keep using her Heel stomp. His stats will be in the toilet and he will drop even faster, if he ever gets a turn, which he shouldn't, but I digress, nice video showing the characters different skills. Letting him get Ba-Boom off added a nice bit of climactic flair to the vid. Overall the video was a nice one. Keep up the good work
This boss battle was a real let down. He dropped like a rock. When I fought him the first time I had no trouble and didn't even take damage. Just keep 1 character defending so they can cancel him, and he will never touch you. Like I said big major let down. But the music rocked.
I'm only watching this cause I gave up after fighting the last "Valmar's Tongue" I died and gave up.....I could NOT fight Valmar 3 Heads ALL OVER AGAIN!!!!!!
This guy is the most easy at all freaking game. When you have Millenia simply use the Valmar EyE to freeze him and show him some kick-ass-tacktic with Riudo and Elena!

The real final boss is Valmar's Core which is actually at least a bit of a challenge.
I did the last four battles without going back to the healing point and it still was way too easy. =(

i remember getting both this and skies of arcadia for christmas on the dreamcast...i know i will piss a lot of you off, but i vastly prefered skies of arcadia..the design in this game, especially the towns, was too by the numbers for me

My strategy: All chars Power Up so all stats are +5 and at the same time lower all Zeras stats to -5 so you are the strong one... Then I just owned him with few strikes.

@Pointslhalsbirnbarnd I actually have to agree. The "new valmar core" was like 5 times harder tahn this guy. I got to him expecting 2 hours of retries like I had on the core. Killed him first time, sort of disappointing, but still an awesome boss :P

Well i agree with everyone here, that "End Boss" sure is a lame excuse for of a Boss. There is an even easier way to defeat him, just spam Spellbinding circle and the poor sob won't be able to do ANYTHING at all, except groan lol.

that ba-boom! move is actually one of the strongest monster moves, but thats maybe only for one monster....don't remember the name...but i think it was some red monster...same one like in garmia tower top floor only red....
killed my players in 1 shot.....and i was over 5000hp each

Yeah the Devils in Raul Hills Special Stage. They do the move right off the bat and kill you if you're surprised by them. If you surprise them or enter a normal battle where neither side is surprised then they still have a chance of doing the move but it's not very high.

and if you wanna be really funny just have Millenia keep using her Heel stomp. His stats will be in the toilet and he will drop even faster, if he ever gets a turn, which he shouldn't, but I digress, nice video showing the characters different skills. Letting him get Ba-Boom off added a nice bit of climactic flair to the vid. Overall the video was a nice one. Keep up the good work

This boss battle was a real let down. He dropped like a rock. When I fought him the first time I had no trouble and didn't even take damage. Just keep 1 character defending so they can cancel him, and he will never touch you. Like I said big major let down. But the music rocked.

The end boss should have had us fight all of the peices at the same time...With our choice of tio or roan to play...That would be fun.

i think this isn´t the real endboss. its to easy, to boring and to ugly. I think the one with 3 Faces is the real Endboss. Its much harder

I absolutely loved this game, but the final boss was such a let down. Even without spellbinding eye it was a pretty anti-climatic ending.

This guy is the most easy at all freaking game. When you have Millenia simply use the Valmar EyE to freeze him and show him some kick-ass-tacktic with Riudo and Elena!

I agree, Zera Valmar was so damn easy.
With a small range of attacks.
Other parts of Valmar i'd say were much harder to beat.
The game itself is immense though.

I laughed my way though the zera valmar fight, it was so bloody easy for a last boss. even the fights with the valmar parts were harder than him. zera valmar was a coplete joke.

Ok dude not dissing your gaming skills or anything cause u did a pretty good job of killing him i download this t=for the comp and play it and i beat it when i fought him i had Millianea use spell binding eye and held him in place i use Sky Dragon Slash and Elena Strong attack over and over till i kill him if u would have used spell binding eye u wouldn't have gotten hit at all
