@TheLuisgarcia44 Ummmm. First of all, the Dr. did not give me a choice of using the plastic or not. That was his preference. Secondly, you don't know me at all and you have no business calling me a wimp. That is pretty stupid of you to make assumptions. Do you really think the dr. gives the patient a choice? Most dr's I know do things their own way. Such a jerk
@MrJackaaron Yes, the plastic was to protect my skin and also a guide for the dr to "see" where the line should go as he cut the cast.
It did not hurt one bit! I only felt vibrations from the cast cutter. The cutter is designed to stop immediately if it feels something soft. (ie skin) as you can see he still had to cut thru the sock liner. The saw/cutter did not even cut thru the liner at all, Thanks for looking, sorry to delay in responding! :)
Broken fibula on my left leg. Actually found out later it was broken in 3 places. Big crack in the fibula, and 2 cracks lower down by my ankle. Going to physical therapy now to help the ankle pain I still have.
I broken my wrist and they gave me a cast which went past my elbow which i was annoyed about but then i got a new one which was higher than the first!!!
Sorry to hear that, hope is all good now. if you don't mind me asking How long were you on crutches for? I recently had Fibula Surgery on June 17th and have to use them for 8 weeks.
@wwedivaobsession I did not have surgery, i was on crutches about 6 weeks, then maybe 2 weeks with just one crutch after the cast came off. I was so scared to walk again! But I am doing ok. Still get swelling in the ankle. Was told to expect that for up to a year! But I was so happy to walk again! Good luck to you! i think you will heal better having surgery. My bone is slowly re-fusing back together. Going for another check up in a few weeks to check progress. XX
Darn it! I don't even have a cool story! I actually slipped in the mud at work and broke my fibula! Thank goodness I was working at a medical clinic in the parking lot of an emergency room when it happened! :) lol
i didnt use the plastic and it doesnt cut you. such a wimp

I know how that goes since I had reconstructive ankle surgery in August, 2010. In a cast and boot for two months.
