Anybody has the problem with the Nunchuk not responding after a while? Every freakin time I play, and don't use it (only in Skyward Sword to make it clear) for a while, it goes idle, and does not respond, often it a situation when Shield is required. To fix it, I have to throw it very far and quick on the Sofa, no kidding.
i love this game but what i cant wait to see is how zelda wii u will be if graphics meats the father of gameing then its all gana be worth it whats funny is now that nintendo is going HD the creativity of there developers are really gana blow away some of xbox and playstation fans and game developers as a whole mario samus DK and even kirby is really gana take gaming to the next level so keep up the good work nintendo. but one more thing i would love is battalion wars 3 and 3ds

After 30 hours of gameplay (Thanks 3DS Daily Records!) I realised I not only was I no longer enjoying myself, but I no longer had any idea what the goal of the game was. I was also having nightmares about chickens.
@TheGzeus Ive played nearly all of the zelda games. I enjoyed all of them and i was excited for ocarina cause i heard it was the best. Heres what i say, all the zelda games are very different. The graphic style, gameplay, and controls has changed so much in each game. I liked ocarina of time but there was problems with it. skywad sword is perfect. I cant think of anything wrong with it aside from no voice acting. Give skyward sword a chance, its a lot easier and more direct.

I just got the game and finished the first 3 dungeons. I really like the game but I actually think it's the weakest of the 3d Zelda game. My personal favorites are TP and WW. I love the story and dungeons of TP and the travel and style of WW. This one doesn't have WW great sense of wonder and adventure or TP terrific dungeons and epic feel. Maby it's because I don't like motion control idk.

@IceCCity ... you have no idea what youve been missing , like zelda wind waker , and twilight princess , go buy them and have a great time . PS. wind waker for gamecube is personally my favorite zelda game, give it a try (gamecube is only 30 bucks now at gamestop)
I think not having voice acting is for the best, or at least for a japanese game, if you have played a game with english voice acting that is from japan, it usually doesn't turn out well
the one thing that struck me right away when i started playing this was Zelda herself.umm how do i say this...she's got more personality this time,she's so charming and the intro of the game is awesome thanks to that! i have to agree with the game being a tad linear but it wasn't that bad.the new dynamic gameplay is definitely one of the game's selling points.rolling a bomb,exploring with your beetle or swinging your sword...:) fun times.

@1beatcher the record for beating a link to the past was something like just over two hours.ther's no way a modern zelda game played in a normal pace would take any less then ten to twenty hours
I don't like the idea with voices. The characters being silent helps you imagine what they would sound like. And i'm sure how they would sound is differant in each persons mind. It seems to me that the only reasone people what the zelda series to have voices is because every other game has voices, and they are too lazy to read dialogue boxes. honestly, how hard is it to read a little bit?

I think the South Park creators said it best when making their video game. Having voice acting ruins the link between you and your character. That's why they named him Link.

The darn shield, I had so much trouble with Lizalfos at the beginning and a few enemies cause i kept forgetting to utilize the shield! On the opposide side, the freaking Beetle is amazingly useful, I can't believe it, I even had a saying for it "When in doubt, take the beetle out" and it got me unstuck like ALL THE TIME
the only issue i had with motion controls were Swimming was a lil iffy and stabbing, but maybe I was doing something wrong
Ghirahim is a laughable villain by virtue of him being too lazy to kill you on multiple occassions.
The sword control is not, in fact, 1:1 in combat (just as a matter-of-fact comment).
Link and Zelda's chemistry is vacant, with only 2 min of scenes in the 20 hrs after hr 1.
Finally, 3:11. This is a cheap shot, and insulting to boot. The controls are not crippled, but can mess up, I've observed, and you calling me a liar, or worse, incompetent, is frankly dickish.

@metaluigi425 I can't comment too much on that, since I've only played OOT, MM, and SS, but really, Ganandorf DID things.
In OOT, he was a constant presence, killing the Deku Tree, strong-arming the Gorons, infecting JabuJabu. And the whole second half has to do with the aftermath of him taking power.
MM didn't have Ganandorf, but it did the same thing with Skullkid.
Ghirahim is more of a pest than anything. Outside of simply being an impetus for boss battles, what does he do?
@Mythmaker12687 well ghirihim did take zelda away right in front of you (he used an explosive teleportation attack which severely weakened link and grabbed zelda and left), where as in other zelda games, gannon did things while link was busy (in OOT, gannon just used a crystal to hold her in. In WW and twillight princess , he took her away while link was busy adventuring.
@666blaziken My point is, though, he has very little effect on the plot. What he mostly does is prolong things, showing up, talking, and then leaving, sometimes fighting, but having no lasting effect. Nothing gained, nothing lost, except for the one scene at the Temple of Time, and the last bit of the game.
I'm really happy that you weren't afraid to bash the game. I feel that a lot of other reviewers give the game 10s and 9s just because of the fact that it's just Zelda. You managed to pin point all the reasons why it was good. Awesome review!

i have only played 2 zelda games not including skyward sword. Skyward sword is an amazing game yese but i do not think it should get game of the year or something. at least in the top 3. what's your opinion?
I am "a new comer" to the Zelda series, and I have to say that I LOVE this game! I became a Zelda fan after this game, and I spent my entire break playing it because it was just so much fun! Can't wait for the next installment :)

@jakewolf16 Hey, no problem :D It's a program which allows you to play games for SEGA Genesis, Sony PS1, Nintendo 64 etc... Google it! For Nintendo 64, I recommend you use an emulator called Project 64. The site where you can download games is CoolRom (there are others, but I prefer that one). The reason i got for no talking in the Zelda series is that since you can name Link, then no one in the game will be able to pronounce some random name if you were to choose one.
I love this game! The solid precision combat, real time interface, awesome dungeons, clever items, brilliant art direction, engaging orchestral score.. all wrapped around an excellent origin story..without doubt my favourite game of 2011!!

The REAL reason for no voices is that Shigeru wanted people to feel like link and if he talked it would take away some of that feeling. if everyone except him talked it would make more players pay attention to the fact he is completely silent.
The reason there is no talking is because (this is what my friend told me) Link is Nitendo`s silent hero I don`t know if this true but this is what I have heard
The games that really should the heart of wii were Metroid 3, Red Steel 2, Zelda Skyward Sword, and MadWorld :D. I am really likeing the new Wii-u Controller too! Nintendo is very creative. And it is even better that I can still use the wiimote as well. I like FPS on the wii. It is my favorite besides a keyboard and mouse and my SuperPad n64 controlller. A little thing I liked about skyward was that I could center the cursor anywhere I wanted and could make it move by not pointing at the TV :D
All the whining about voice acting? why? it would be horrible if Link had a voice. Just like for yeas people wanted Samus to have a voice and in the game that she finally did. Everyone Complained about it. Even though that game had a great story line and I was really happy that Japan was making another metroid game taking after Snes metroid which is one of my Favorite games, so Link did have a voice it would not be Zelda. I honestly like the reading and voice gestures everyone makes. More alive.

I just finished this game, and I was surprised. When I first saw the graphics and some gameplay in the trailer, I didnt think I was going to buy it. It seemed a little too...childish? :S When I played SS, I fell in love with the storyline. I love the romance element in it, and I think this legend was great! However, the gameplay was easy and the bosses were not very cool (excluding Koloktos.) A little repetative, and Fi told you the obvious. e____e I love the story and the fighting style- 7/10
Skyward Sword was an absolute joke. Like seriously. Gameplay was solid, but the game was too easy. The story was a bunch of jumbled up nonsense. Every single enemy is a joke, I laugh when people claim they died against ANYONE IN THE ENTIRE GAME. The final boss is as easy as Twilight Princess'. Come on Nintendo, try harder. Don't try to make the next OoT. Try to make the next MM.

I went to target today to hang out, and I saw that they had the demo on display. After playing it all I can say is... WOWWEEEEEE!!! I love the Zelda series, and from what I've played this seems like it's as good, if not better than other games in the series! Can't wait to play it this christmas!!! XD

good review. I, on the other hand, don't think voice actors would add anything to this series. Voices in Zelda, with all the quirky characters and zany dialogue, could level a fatal blow to this series by being too silly and embarassing. Just imagine giving a character like Tingle a voice actor.

I have some more questions .. do I absolutely NEED Wii Motion Plus to play this game or is it still playable without? Although I wonder, if Hyrule wasn't established until after this game, how can the lower world be it's ruined remains? And that villains just looks laughable .. and the sitting. Although the stamina bar reminds me of Mario 64, which is a nice nostalgic touch.
zelda text speak protects it from a potential disater maybe- the frustration in a zelda game is that link never spoke for himself!- he was a silent protagonist even in a text game so seeing a link that loves someone and gets pissed at the villan and says hes gunna rip his head off might be nice. as far as gaining moves are concerned if you have absalute control over your sword swings relenting that control for a library animation is kinda pointless unless it involves bonus damage. mii want.
One Problem with Nintendo is that there systems are SO AWESOME only they can make good games for it

The darn shield, I had so much trouble with Lizalfos at the beginning and a few enemies cause i kept forgetting to utilize the shield! On the opposide side, the freaking Beetle is amazingly useful, I can't believe it, I even had a saying for it "When in doubt, take the beetle out" and it got me unstuck like ALL THE TIME
the only issue i had with motion controls were Swimming was a lil iffy and stabbing, but maybe I was doing something wrong

Zelda Skyward Sword. MY OPINION
Motion controlls are sometime annoying.
Music is great, but not as good and memerable as Ocarina of Time.
Best graphics in a Zelda game. I still prefer the Ocarina of Time 3D style though.
Too much text and story got me bored in a matter of seconds.
Well, Myamoto you did a perfect job with this game, it is a awsome game, but i`m not into the motion controlls that much.
I give this game a 8/10 :\

Quite simply, I disagree.
Ghirahim is a laughable villain by virtue of him being too lazy to kill you on multiple occassions.
The sword control is not, in fact, 1:1 in combat (just as a matter-of-fact comment).
Link and Zelda's chemistry is vacant, with only 2 min of scenes in the 20 hrs after hr 1.
Finally, 3:11. This is a cheap shot, and insulting to boot. The controls are not crippled, but can mess up, I've observed, and you calling me a liar, or worse, incompetent, is frankly dickish.

2nd encounter: "I would kill you, but I'll let my minion do it because I get off on that."

4th encounter: "I would kill you, but I'm busy thinking.
5th encounter: "Crap. I spent so long doing nothing, you're strong enough to beat me."

@metaluigi425 I can't comment too much on that, since I've only played OOT, MM, and SS, but really, Ganandorf DID things.
In OOT, he was a constant presence, killing the Deku Tree, strong-arming the Gorons, infecting JabuJabu. And the whole second half has to do with the aftermath of him taking power.
MM didn't have Ganandorf, but it did the same thing with Skullkid.
Ghirahim is more of a pest than anything. Outside of simply being an impetus for boss battles, what does he do?

@Mythmaker12687 well ghirihim did take zelda away right in front of you (he used an explosive teleportation attack which severely weakened link and grabbed zelda and left), where as in other zelda games, gannon did things while link was busy (in OOT, gannon just used a crystal to hold her in. In WW and twillight princess , he took her away while link was busy adventuring.

@666blaziken My point is, though, he has very little effect on the plot. What he mostly does is prolong things, showing up, talking, and then leaving, sometimes fighting, but having no lasting effect. Nothing gained, nothing lost, except for the one scene at the Temple of Time, and the last bit of the game.

I'm really happy that you weren't afraid to bash the game. I feel that a lot of other reviewers give the game 10s and 9s just because of the fact that it's just Zelda. You managed to pin point all the reasons why it was good. Awesome review!

I am "a new comer" to the Zelda series, and I have to say that I LOVE this game! I became a Zelda fan after this game, and I spent my entire break playing it because it was just so much fun! Can't wait for the next installment :)

@jakewolf16 Hey, no problem :D It's a program which allows you to play games for SEGA Genesis, Sony PS1, Nintendo 64 etc... Google it! For Nintendo 64, I recommend you use an emulator called Project 64. The site where you can download games is CoolRom (there are others, but I prefer that one). The reason i got for no talking in the Zelda series is that since you can name Link, then no one in the game will be able to pronounce some random name if you were to choose one.

I love this game! The solid precision combat, real time interface, awesome dungeons, clever items, brilliant art direction, engaging orchestral score.. all wrapped around an excellent origin story..without doubt my favourite game of 2011!!

The REAL reason for no voices is that Shigeru wanted people to feel like link and if he talked it would take away some of that feeling. if everyone except him talked it would make more players pay attention to the fact he is completely silent.

The games that really should the heart of wii were Metroid 3, Red Steel 2, Zelda Skyward Sword, and MadWorld :D. I am really likeing the new Wii-u Controller too! Nintendo is very creative. And it is even better that I can still use the wiimote as well. I like FPS on the wii. It is my favorite besides a keyboard and mouse and my SuperPad n64 controlller. A little thing I liked about skyward was that I could center the cursor anywhere I wanted and could make it move by not pointing at the TV :D

All the whining about voice acting? why? it would be horrible if Link had a voice. Just like for yeas people wanted Samus to have a voice and in the game that she finally did. Everyone Complained about it. Even though that game had a great story line and I was really happy that Japan was making another metroid game taking after Snes metroid which is one of my Favorite games, so Link did have a voice it would not be Zelda. I honestly like the reading and voice gestures everyone makes. More alive.

I just finished this game, and I was surprised. When I first saw the graphics and some gameplay in the trailer, I didnt think I was going to buy it. It seemed a little too...childish? :S When I played SS, I fell in love with the storyline. I love the romance element in it, and I think this legend was great! However, the gameplay was easy and the bosses were not very cool (excluding Koloktos.) A little repetative, and Fi told you the obvious. e____e I love the story and the fighting style- 7/10

Skyward Sword was an absolute joke. Like seriously. Gameplay was solid, but the game was too easy. The story was a bunch of jumbled up nonsense. Every single enemy is a joke, I laugh when people claim they died against ANYONE IN THE ENTIRE GAME. The final boss is as easy as Twilight Princess'. Come on Nintendo, try harder. Don't try to make the next OoT. Try to make the next MM.

I love this game, but I found some things I hate/don't like in this game. The main thing that irritates the hell out of me is Scrapper. I HATE SCRAPPER!!! Two reasons. 1. He irritates me, because of his attitude!. 2. He's useless!! A COMPLETE WASTE, PERIOD!!!!! Yes I know! He picks up heavy objects to help you on your quest, but that doesn't improve anything! If nintendo ever adds voices in the zelda franchise, they need to hire the awsome voice directors like Kris Zimmerman Salter, Jack Flecher and Andrea Romano!
Though to be honest i would rather have no voice acting than crappy voice acting!

I went to target today to hang out, and I saw that they had the demo on display. After playing it all I can say is... WOWWEEEEEE!!! I love the Zelda series, and from what I've played this seems like it's as good, if not better than other games in the series! Can't wait to play it this christmas!!! XD

good review. I, on the other hand, don't think voice actors would add anything to this series. Voices in Zelda, with all the quirky characters and zany dialogue, could level a fatal blow to this series by being too silly and embarassing. Just imagine giving a character like Tingle a voice actor.

I have some more questions .. do I absolutely NEED Wii Motion Plus to play this game or is it still playable without? Although I wonder, if Hyrule wasn't established until after this game, how can the lower world be it's ruined remains? And that villains just looks laughable .. and the sitting. Although the stamina bar reminds me of Mario 64, which is a nice nostalgic touch.

zelda text speak protects it from a potential disater maybe- the frustration in a zelda game is that link never spoke for himself!- he was a silent protagonist even in a text game so seeing a link that loves someone and gets pissed at the villan and says hes gunna rip his head off might be nice. as far as gaining moves are concerned if you have absalute control over your sword swings relenting that control for a library animation is kinda pointless unless it involves bonus damage. mii want.
