  • when is q bert gunna buy n mpc!!!!

  • @WHYKNOX he has sp1200 sampler but he aint really good at producing beats imo

  • I have this video on my iphone, ripped it from his Scratch DVD, if I am ever in a jam or stuck on a bus or train, I pull i out and listen. Thats how he got so great, practice man, just have fun with it and keep it real. The MJ of Scratchin'! And plus he's mad cool I checked him out in Okinawa a couple of years ago at Club Double Mint or B-Greens, he even came down on his fee due to the economy. Real stand up guy, plus a helluva show!!!

  • Yeah that stuff all kinza dope!!! I wanna DJ, but i come from a small ass town & live on a bunk ass rez. lol & i don't have anything YET! j/w what i should start with??? or Where??? I'v got to try out alot of turntable shtuff, but i don't have my own. and i want my own sooooo F'N bad eh, hmmm, maybe i'll jus' start off with what ever i could afford. unless someone tell me the GOODstuff i should or need to KNOW!!! =] please/thankyou [= lol

  • @MrYoslim get some technics used on ebay and a good skratching mixer like a pioneer 909, vestax pro, rane 57, etc. and qbert's ortofon needles, and a skratchy seal record for skipless skratching! go to the thudrumble site!

  • @thudrumble & MrYoslim 909 and SL57 are way to expensive. Get a used Vestax PMC 06 and put a Pro X or even better a Innofader in there!

  • @MrYoslim

all you need to know is dont get CDJs. only pussy DJs use CD decks

  • @MrYoslim Two phrases to look for: "direct drive" for your tables and "curve control" for your mixer. If youre an absolute beginner on a tight budget there is no need to get hung up on manufacturers just yet but belt drive turntables just won't work for a scratch dj, even a beginner. (Scratchy seal is a fantastic source for battle weapons when it comes to picking records... probably the best out there in my opinion). Hope this helps!!

  • @MrYoslim Go and watch the video of Jon Beez demonstrating his new invention, the "Fretless fader". It's gonna revolutionise DJing.

  • @MrYoslim the new SCS.4DJ by Stanton seems to be a good choice for starters. check it out!

  • @MrYoslim talk about tellin your life story, coulda saved yourself and everyone else reading your comment alot of time by saying 'what decks do you recommend'

  • some he can't do?

    master of masters.

he live between a fresh and a ahyeah.

  • Unreal.......i don't know what else to say......

  • I just want to know how old is Q, he's been doing it for a big number of years but he looks like he's 21, lol. Not hating, I just see that the DJ thing has been real good to him all them years

  • his body is made out of rhytm

    there is so much control

  • nice lil royal sample in there... DOPE!!

  • This guy is xtra nice, xceptional, scratching mutant!!!

  • isnt q bert actually #1....whos better than him if not? i dont think ive heard any others with his type of consistency with certain scratches.

  • i'm really jealous for this kind of man, just like to be like him!

Not the fucking thing like Justin Bieber and all his fans who think we jealous JB.!!

  • BBOY!

  • I AGREE Q-Bert THE BEST. RESPONSE TO TOP TEN OF ALL TIME.

  • Pure genius!!!! This is the art form at its absolute best!!!

  • Check 4, beats by Wallace Green

  • yea he may actually be skratchin based off of the lyrics. i've heard him more than a few times skratch out the lyrics of rappers delight.

  • I MEAN...HIS IS THE MAN...I AM LIKE, OHH SHIAAAAT..WHAT HAPPEND?

  • So Nice Men Soo nice.

    Deck Wracker.

    Lp Burner

    Hip Hop FireStarter

    Fingers Faser Then Eye

  • that's the scratch right there, respect, thanks = )

  • I almost thought that Q-Bert was scratchin' to the rhythm of how G Rap rhymes on this beat.

I have to verify, but if he is...that's fuckin' Sikk!!!.

  • top 10? i thought No1 of all time..

  • @MexicanKola uhhh...Dj Jazzy Jeff has that title my friend...Q is nice though...how about top five

  • @jerseyratbastard jazzy jeff is dope as hell...but lets keep it real...qbert will so take him out on a turntablist battle. from what i seen jazzy jeff do on the cut its just the advanced basics...sry but jazzy jeff will not out do qbert. just my opinion. no disrespect to your comment or to jazzy jeff...peace

  • q-bert's the fuckin master.

  • I got to hear Q-Bert live in Indy, like 10 years ago. Richard Humpty Vission was there. I can't remember who else. Almost 40,000 strong. Was a great party. People in the parking lot asked us is Michael Jackson here or something.

  • where can i find this instrumental!!

  • @DJMETHALBLU u probably have ta buy the vinyl... couldnt find it on the internet... :(

  • his fader fingers go too fast for the camera; sometimes it looks like he's not even moving them. this man is a true wizard. i'd never heard real scratching until i discovered him with the InvisiblSkratchPiklz back in the '90s and i've never heard anyone like him since. a truly amazing musician, straight up.

  • REAL SHIT!!!!!!

    FUCK OTHER COMMERCIAL SOUNDS!

  • top ten??? He is the Grand Master.

  • best of skratch DJ-Qbert

  • its like his rapping with his hands.

  • this instrumental kills it, i can;'t find it anywhere else but this, the scratching just tops it off, props brother.

  • DJ Q-BERT = HIPHOP

  • qcumbers

  • Holy shit...... still one of the BEST!

  • @supajc correction... not "one of the BEST!" THE BEST (period)

  • AWESOME!

  • OMG WELL DONE DUDE!

  • hes the dj god

  • its alot easier2 learn to mix than scratch, scratching does not make ppl dance especially all nite, but a dj weather scratching alive in hip hop and has took scratching to another level for hip hop n through hip hop if he wanted to he could play a set all nite and not scratch just fuck the crowd up tottally as he knows where ever he will play he will take big big bangers of that type of flavour.too scratch and mixwell is the key a gr8mixer can become1ina year lol

  • thats the dope shiiiiit!!!

  • maddetox is 100% right aint no hatin if man cant rock a club and just scratch for three hours you think we gon feel the funk? Fuck a crab scratch Hip Hop was breed in park jams nigga from break beats and hourszzz of party rockin, breakin, and emceein not just from moving a fucking record back and forth theres an essence to actually spinning a fuckin record and rockin the party that as maddetox pointed out white kids obviously forgot when prominent latino and black dj's changed it up

  • do you know who the fuck dj qbert is?

  • can't believe the people who hate on this man... have u any idea what he's done for hip hop, he doesn't have to rock a crowd, he's paid his dues and if he wanted to just party rock I'm sure he can do it better than some of the best party rockin djs now... turntablism is where his heart is

  • @johbarre what has he done for hip hop? when ppl speak of hip hop they don't mention his name so i'm lost when it comes to what he's done for hip hop. i think ppl forget that most hip hop djs left turntablism for production and producing gigs. whites and others pick up what black djs moved on from. Q is a great turntablism dj, but saving hip hop he didn't do, i bet 90% of hip hop fans don't even know who he is.

  • @maddetox He's invented and perfected scratch techniques that are utilized by producers in various hip hop tracks. The crab scratch (which he and mix master mike invented) is one. Just because hip hop "fans" haven't heard of him, doesn't mean he isn't important. I'm sure there are numerous fans who haven't heard of J Dilla, Madlib, or even Premo, but that doesn't mean they aren't important. Also, DJ'ing is one of the 5 pillars of hip hop.

  • @Joeybits i'm not saying he's not good at what he does. i'm just sick of ppl acting like he saved hip hop.

  • Only true hip hop head will know...

  • Comment removed

  • get out of here faggot we dont hate on your type of music so dont come here bringing that shit.

  • @786baqi if you dont like it, fuck off.

  • I know he can cut, but if i'm at a club i don't want to hear that crap all night long. Can he rock a party and get the crowd on the dancefloor?

  • @maddetox you have no idea.

  • @bobbydadogg bobby you're right, i don't have a clue that's why i asked the question if he could rock a club. Everything that i've seen on him, is him cutting, so i don't know if he could rock a club. i'm not hating just asking a question.

  • @maddetox he not that kinda of dj , he uses his Turntables like it would be a Guitar , do you see Guitarist rocking da clubs !!?? i assume no , Most club dj's just put music to make people dance , not to make them enjoy the Artistic touch of a musician playing is instruments . but give him a club and a Playlist and i am sure he will rock the place , but thats not his style .

  • miamiwax = STFU

  • i think q bert crabs way to much. don't get me wrong but crabbing is so overused...he is a pioneer no doubt . just my humble opinion.

  • who made the crab cut again?

  • @miamiwax big respect to q bert.. i wish i had 1/8 the skills he has. i think i'm entitled to an opinion though.

  • so real

  • why wasn't Q in DJ Hero? that was upsetting.

  • @HipH0pMessiah mm maybe coz he's not le gay

  • @HipH0pMessiah dj hero takes from the art. politics

  • @HipH0pMessiah is now lol

  • @HipH0pMessiah he is in DJ Hero 2

  • @HipH0pMessiah

    cus Q isnt a sellout ;P

  • @HipH0pMessiah DJ Hero is a toy...why would Q wanna tarnish his name with it....

  • @TheFluent1 Loooooooooool he is in DJ Hero :P

  • Diabolical

  • That's funny, he's starts off scratching like G Rap flows on the song. All you need is the people chanting "Kool is back" in the background.

  • damn sick!!!

  • Q is nasty on this one! Cot Damn!

  • Q was the first to make scratchin' musical.

  • Q took it to the next level but it was actually Grand Wizard Theodore who discovered it and incorporated it into music

  • No shit dumb ass.I didnt say Q invented it.I said He made it musical...learn to read first sucka

  • Fuck you are retarded. So you think when GWT discovered it he was just twiddling his thumbs, waiting for his hot water to boil? He discovers it, he makes it musical. And there were many other DJs that kept it musical in between GWT discovering it and Q doing it as well - Grandmaster Flash, Grandmixer DXT, Jam Master Jay. Like I said - Q took it TO THE NEXT LEVEL. Change your fucking tampon.

  • Brings back memorys of playing tony hawk

  • fresh! but at 5:33 to 5:40 its really fresh!!!...

  • jap awesome!!!

  • @COMPACTASS1 lol ^^ jap means yes

  • sitting down makes it all the more difficult...and doper.....every tried? not easy at all like that

  • Not really, depends on experience and what you're comfortable doing.

  • effortless scratching by the legend himself "Q"

  • 後ろのSP1200ほしい

  • Qbert is still the dopest. i have been listenin to him for a long ass time and got to see him once at the DMC west coast finals at guitar center in San Francisco. he dopeness embodied. wish i could cut like him, maybe in a few more years ill be close.

  • i trip on out how Q dont get tired wtf crazy shit, 8 min long he still goin i get tired of crabbin an cuttin after a couple min haha

  • This is insane. Cuz got mad scratchin skill such funky flows too.

  • possiblty the smoothisstt beats and scratchss i ever seen crazy flow

  • supa dope of course, the beat also rocks

  • Similar to "Know the Ledge" by Rakim but not quite. He aight though.

  • To this date QBERT remains on the top 10 list of the best DJs of all time.

  • @tlarock Qbert is truely a master....with the invention of the octopuss sctrach, I'd say he's #1 on that top 10 list...

  • @astumpe80 Excuse my ignorance....octopus scratch!! WTF!! lol

These guys are in another fuckin realm as far as the turntables go.

As far as I know, most turntablists are pretty much in agreement that q-bert is probably the greatest dj of all time.

I know that's a big statement to make, and in honesty, he's not even my favourite turntablist dj, but you can't front on the mans skillz and what he and his crew have bought to turntablism.

  • @tlarock top ten? how about number 1

  • @Supercell391 For reals, this guy absolutely changed the game for scratching.

  • @tlarock Nuff said...

  • i really really enjoyed that thanks man !!!!!! gonna check other vids out of yours too !!! i think your highly talented

  • oh man he can scratch. every different pitch of his scratch makes it sound like a couple of guys freestyling to each other. then again it looks like he's freestyling in his head and scratchin' it out. sounds great man.

  • Dam!! he can make his handwork into an artform ^.^

  • Just let your mind be free.... and practice a lot

  • This playboy and SCRATCH GOD workin that super seal, u do notice like that Q is free-stylin.. perfectly on time to 8-Mins of a loop track, and he never repeats a set of patterns ONCE! or misses a beat.. Shit were lucky Q wasnt around back in the Roman Catholic days, or they woulda left Jesus alone, and came straight for this nigga!!! Cuz Jesus may be able to walk on water... BUT EVEN GOD HIMSELF SIT IN AMAZEMENT WHEN THIS FOOL IS AT WORK!!! SIMPLY GENIUS!!! " Q-Bert for World Leader!!!!!!!!"

  • am I the only one who isnt that impressed by this vid???? Dont get me wrong, I rate q-bert as probably the greatest scratcher on the planet and have been totally blown away the few times I've seen him live, but this vid aint that impressive, I appreciate this is just a practice sesh but some of the timing is very sloppy... This is in no way me taking anything away from Q-bert.... more just a reality check for all the people losing their minds over this clip...

  • I'm impressed for the fact that it's not very repetative,on a loop that's going for 8 minutes. You try that and i'll be impressed.

  • 1:18-Siiiiiick!!!!!!

  • hey hankseptember, why not drop rhymes over the vid and upload as a response to this one?
