  • Digital "deejays" disgust me, digital "djing" supporters too.

  • @CitizenofTatooine This is not DJing. Its an actual live music performance. Much like a live band, except he is doing it with a modern twist.

  • Santa....

  • You are a fucking legend.

  • what happend to the good old technics and a vestax mixer them days are going next it il be robots on stage lol

  • @FpSClanPS3 this aint dj shiftte bro its house music we really on making great music and sometimes mixing i think the only house guy who scratches are laidback luke chuckie and james zabieala

  • @FpSClanPS3 Welcome to the future bro. We can't do anything :-??

  • Dear camera guy,

Focus the damn lens and leave it be, your "artistic" rack focus look like crap and were annoying.

    kthxbye!!

  • Don't question perfection. He knows what he is doing.

  • Why do I have this feeling Richie likes to make things more complicated than needed? :) Is all of that really necessary for relatively simple (in terms of arrangement/structure) tracks? Really, really hope to see him live doing it, tho.

  • @koneyn I think it has to do with, that, by making a system very complex you open up more possibilities, he can a greater veriaty of things with those tracks than just four

  • don't get fooled. he's using insanely much stuff, but he'd only need 3 or 4. 1 lemur, maschine, behringer controller and maybe iPad would be enough. Don't see why he uses 2 lemurs. I really love his music and his sets, but this kind of... stupid. I mean, deadmau5 could also use one lemur for each channel, instead he uses 1 (or 2 iPads atm) for 12! u get what I mean?

  • @Voyagermusix did you just put deadmau5 and ritchie into the same category OH NO HE DIDN'T.

  • @cacophony1 I'd say you can't compare them, I like them both, personally. I just think Hawtin is really using more gear than he'd need for doing what he does. But who cares- he can afford it :p

  • @Voyagermusix

He shows just how technology can be used in a veru fkn'' creative way..

With one iPad on every channel "as you said' you have a bigger control and manipulation space as you have on one iPAD on every channel.

He does with music what he wants, that why it's sounds how it sounds.

  • @TheClarc What I'm trying to say is that he has one lemur with just 2 buttons set up on it. And I don't get that, sorry

  • @TheClarc But don't get me wrong, I think Plastikman is one of the most influential artists for EDM ever, and I love his stuff and already bought the Arkives.

  • is that a behringer midi controller?

  • @yorkieslover Yes it is! BCR 2000 :)

  • @MrdjHYPEr BCF 2000, my bad

  • I'd love to try to haul that giant rig around. Have fun plugging it all up when you get to the venue. Its even more elaborate than deadmau5's live setup!

  • haha, i understood almost nothing about what he was on about. i can play two songs on cdj 1000's and call myself a dj.

    im such a tool lols.

  • @DamianNeate practise

  • what is he using for a transient designer??

  • this setup makese me insane

  • Lots of stuff Ableton rocks

  • good man richie ... amazing some of the stuff ya throw out i a set ... keep it up ya legend :D

  • What a beast.

  • I think the cameraman got high!

  • terrible camerawork. kept going out of focus with each zoom and focussing the wrong way!

  • The guy at 2:35 looks exactly the way Richie Hawtin looked when he did the best Plastikman recordings (in the nineties). I think that guy is the REAL Plastikman!

  • @repeatle more like Paolo Barbato :)

  • He makes it all look much easier than you think it is :P Fuck the haters! Richie Rules

  • all this, and the music still does little more than good old "oom-tsa oom-tsa".

  • i thought richie only used traktor for his sets, dint know he switched to ableton. anyone know when this happened and why? jw

  • @chilloutpod

    Money, money...and more money!

Richie would endorse my nutsack if he could make a few bob from it!

  • @chilloutpod it is him doing a plastikman live show, not a richie hawtin dj set

  • @archietas Full Live plastikman, insane show...

  • Great setup... This is beyond just djing

  • "How can I use all of this sponsored equipment without it actually doing much so I don't lose my sponsors"

  • Wicked show. the poppong sounds were amazing!

  • And as always with FM videos, I learn nothing, absolutely nothing.

  • @TranceForTheFuture well put, they just go after big names not great producers and just end up talking about gear or favorite presets, lol

  • @KidFiction101 Exactly, its a waist of time.

  • @TranceForTheFuture that's because you like trance, you twat.

  • @flabbygrowlers So the reason I cant get all the pieces together and produce a track after watching this is because I like trance? Dude, you are embarassing yourself.

  • @TranceForTheFuture This is for people that already "knows". If you want to learn, go to school.

  • Wish i could be in Australia right fucking now! :P

  • Sweet blurry vid.

  • and unlike alot other laptop shows whic are mabe taking two channels or four channels out we're running nearly the whole board here!!!!!! ahhahahahaahahahahahaahhaha wwwwooooooowwwwwwwwwwwww

  • Master!

  • @DangerRifai well I agree with you ! I went to TImewarp to and this experience was probably one of the best technologic video experience :-)

  • O_0

  • oooo shit

  • Just press play and let people listen to music you tart!

  • @alexofalaw This is just fine as you said ! (For people used to winamp and other mediocre things and stuff)

Have a good day ! And enjoy your usual, uninteresting and unevolving life.

  • Okay, now get us an inside video-tour of the Daft Punk pyramid. :)

  • @Dain22 google it :) theres an amazing photo by mixmag that explains each part briefly

  • Camera man, what the hell are you doing?

  • Richie knows his stuff

  • what the hell is going on? So much stuff?

    i dont understand the half?

why a big mixer for seperating into sounds like drums, synth, vocals, etc.?

  • nice setup but i think that the ipad is just for showoff, you can use an akai controler to control the shit out of Ableton. And i think that so much gear does give you amazing versatility which is what plastikman is known for.

  • @DjLoko190988 I think its because he likes to tweet the songs he's playing I don't know.

  • @Tand0oriCh1cken could be :D , makes ppl think hes bustin his ass mixing and actually hes chating LOL ;)

  • I dislike his sound. Fucking Too minimal without sense. Axwell Rocks!

  • @DjEvolux his music is very subtle and slowly evolving to make one big picture, i also dont really like plastikman, tho i love minimal.

  • @DjEvolux Agree with that!

  • over-complicated shit.. Really, you dont fucking need all this crap to make a good show.

  • @ArniieeCDJ Yes, you do. I was at the first one he did at Time Warp in Mannheim. It literally was THE most amazingly immersive experience. You can't criticise it unless you've experienced it.

  • @ArniieeCDJ well you can give a good show with only a laptop. But that's not very stimulating... Richie was always a megalomaniac artist and I see nothing bad with that. Rockers in the 80's didnt need fireworks on their concerts but they still used it..

  • nice
