  • RIP Bob

  • I bloody love Stephen Fry

  • Even the name. Appleguard. Makes me picture him at attention with rifle in hand, next to an apple, looking fierce.

  • My favourite sketch of theirs. That "my father" bit is actually genious!

  • I have a feeling Stephen particularly enjoyed doing this sketch.

  • I love Stephen Fry's face when he's lolling the cod and flowers.

  • This is my absolute favourite sketch by Fry and Laurie!

  • I love Stephen's creepy smile at the end, like he's thinking "mwahahahahahahaa" :D

  • Lol...this one is so random.

  • Masters of comedy

  • This is how I wake up every morning.

  • Ahh, the good old days when cod was just a fish

  • @faxvictim I apologize dear sir, I meant to click upon the thumb that pointed up for your comment. Rather, I made the mistake of pointing the thumb that pointed down. Please, accept this non-existent thumb.

  • The funny thing is, he looks exactly like my brother in the shot with the hat. ;) Yeah, my brother is somehow like Dominic Appleguard.

  • The funny thing is, he looks exactly like my brother in the shot with the hat. ;)

  • It's so creepy... and yet so funny... and yet SO creepy...

  • um...he has my name

  • @daappleguard Maybe it's the otherway round..... did you design the M25 by chance?

  • @BlackShadeSkater you know what...i think you might just be right

  • better than Joyce's A Portrait Of The Artist As A Young Man

  • That was a bit scary but really funny

  • His expression at 1:00 cracks me up every time, it's just so creepy XD

  • How the hell can stephen, Ever, keep a straight face while poring salt on his head and pushing the air away at the same time?

  • @DavySigfusson Watch The Letter. This man is amazing

  • The M25 Motorway has killed more people then the M25 Sniper Rifle.

  • His dad was fairly young...

  • Love Stephen's manic expression at the end. Frightening. Glad he didn't play Hannibal Lecter all of a sudden.

  • You do realise Stephen is bipolar (or, as it used to be called, manic-depressive)

  • @nashidar yeah, although "manic" typed doesn't always mean "manic-depressive." i think it's the best word to describe... that... look

  • @nashidar yeah, although "manic" typed doesn't always mean "manic-depressive." i think it's the best word to describe... that... look

  • HUNDOLOS, I'm American too!!!!

  • His expression at 1 minute onwards is the funniest thing I have ever seen.

  • I'm brazillian and my english isn't very good, but I'm completely obsessed with A bit of Fry and Laurie and the british humor, I watch at least a sketch every day since I found a video of them *--*

  • @bellsdepp I'm french an its exactly the same thing for me !!

  • it sounds like he says AppleGod

  • That's probably because of the British accent .

I'm glad to see an American watch Fry Laurie videos, you make me happy, really :)

  • Hehe I'm glad I made someone happy!! :) How'd you know I'm an American?

  • Your profile, dear :)

  • Oh haha right. I'm kinda new at this so I haven't figured all that out yet. Do you watch House?

  • "Dominic wears a hat in an odd but caring way."

    Brilliant ^^

And they are definitely talking about the M25 motorway; there is no doubt about it.

  • Well, everybody's asking about M25, and though I never heard of it it was obvious that it's a crappy road of some kind, I don't get this "you can trust him with a peony and a cod" joke. What's that supposed to mean? Is this a literal version of some english expression? I typed it in google, but i found only references to this sketch. So I don't know, help please.

  • It's just random and funny I'm sure :-)

  • Lol no, it's not an expression, fry and laurie are just showing, through their unique and rather surreal means, that dominic appleguard is an insane and dangerous man, hence his behavior and disturbing obsessions.

and yes, it's a gigantic, confusing and poorly designed road that was designed as a highspeed access to and from the london area that has just turned into a hotspot for appalling levels of traffic congestions and accidents.

  • so now we know where it all went wrong...

  • this isnt the sniper m25. its the motorway

  • LMAO

  • im just a lowly yank, what's an M25?

  • The M25 is the main circular motorway around London. It's famous for traffic jams.

  • ah, thank you. i love the business-like air to your comment. wish i was british...

  • You wouldn't if you had to deal with the M25 every day... ;)

  • Trust me I have to deal with the 405 everyday in Los Angeles. A normally 20 minute drive takes me an hour and a half on a good day, I hope you don't have it that bad.

  • It's funny how it's only on F&L videos where loads of Americans feel they have to apologise for their nationality!

It's the ring road which is all the way around the suburbs of London. At rush hour, it always gets jammed, the whole way around, and if there's an accident, it's twice as bad!

  • the M25 Rifle yah?

  • No, the M25 motorway surrounding london.

  • This, along with Monty Python mockumentaries are too awesome for me to comment on.

  • fuukin hilarious

  • This is possibly the funniest sketch ever.

  • That smile! :3

  • don't quite get it at the part where his father died when he was seven... =[ anyone?

  • they show a picture of a 7 year old kid, who apparently was his father, who died when he was seven (father was seven) xD

  • means his dad had sex when his dad was seven!

  • His Dad was seven...when he died is what I took it as....

    heh

  • it's about the English syntax - "Dominic's father died when HE was only seven" could mean "when DOMINIC was only seven" or "when THE FATHER was only seven". obviously they mean the latter as a joke, 'cause you can see Dominic's father in the picture that had been taken before he died - it's absurd, 'cause he couldn't have fathered Dominic, but that's the point. hope I helped you out :)

  • yea, all of them comments help even urs...=] thnx

  • Means his FATHER was seven, when his father died. XDD

  • The humor is in the statement itself.

  • Also, I wish I had 1:00 as my wallpaper.

  • AAAH, that smile is the best. This is proof that Stephen Fry doesn't even have to say anything to be hilarious.

  • Like so much of Fry and Laurie's comedy, this is so delightfully insane. Was I the only one who wanted to hug crazy, crazy Dominic, just so he would stop salting his hair?

Incidentally, Dominic is one of my favorite names, and after watching this, I think I love it even more.

  • is it just me, or is that smile he gives at the end reeeaaally creepy?

  • I love the M25!

  • That grin is magnificent! :D

  • Dominic Appleguard's father died when he was only seven...

  • that smile at the end freaks me out! :)

  • Me too!

  • LOL pmsl! Thats priceless, good old british humour, cant beat it!

  • There's enough speed cameras on the M25 to get banned from driving 500 times over :)

  • wait ... is the layout of the m25 that stupid? or is this just an exaggeration? I have no Idea because I´m actually from Íslandi

  • the m25 circles london

  • yeah I know ... but is the layout or way it was made stupid or something? ... because that´s what I feel they are suggesting in this sketch.

  • if you didn't get it, the M25 is a motorway renowned for it's high accident and congestion rate

  • HAHAHAHAHA this is amazing. you can trust him with a peony and a cod! *rocks them back and forth*.

and the father who died when he was seven!!!!

what mirth there is to be derived from this!

  • Ahah, M25,

I thought it must've been someone like him to design it ;)

  • is the m25 really screwed up?

  • I didn't recognise it was Hugh Laurie doing the voice over at first.

  • haha. you're making fun of me.

  • Never going on the M25 again!

  • I thought they were talking about the rifle...

  • I love Stephen's creepy smile at the very end! it's hilarious!

  • well, i watch the new ones. christopher eccleston is my favorite doctor and early rose is my favorite companion. i turned my friends onto doctor who as well. one of them reads/collects the books and/or magazines. doctor who's fun because it's silly and clever with lots of heart.

  • Thanks for pointing out that Hugh was the narrator for this sketch. Despite priding myself on being a big ABOFAL fan, I never suspected it was. [blushes]

  • Can someone explain what is M25?

  • its a motorway (highway in the states i think). It circles around london, england.

  • thanks! stephen rocks.

  • Ahaha, that smile at the end scared the crap out of me!!

  • thats funny!!!

i wish hugh's face was in it..... =[

oh well at least he was talking!

  • lol i would have never guessed

  • Hahaha! Such a great ending!

  • I'm scared

why did stephen put salt in his hair and... why is he wearing a cod ?

  • I LOOVVEE them! Rocking the cod! Priceless!

  • "Dominic's father died when he was only seven". Ah the old ones are the best.

  • What is M25?

  • It's a motorway in Britain. It goes in a ring around London and is infamous for having queues.

  • Thanks. Did this person, Dominic Appleguard , really exsit?

  • I don't think so, but then I could be wrong. I assumed he was just invented for the purpose of making a funny scene.

  • I should hope so.

  • im so glad people all over europe like this. happy to see that so many people enjoy good old british humour ^_^

  • It's not just all over Europe. I am Japanese living in New York. And I love this kind of British humour a lot.

  • even better

  • i'm an American and i love a bit of fry and laurie. plus doctor who and other silly stuff.

  • Then you Sir are discerning! :) More power to ya!

  • it's crazy enough, but admittedly I'm still lost with most british humour

  • And Australia!!! :D Stephen Fry is my role model!

  • Dominic Appleguard designed the M25... classic!

  • Stephen's face at the end is priceless!

  • First! Great stuff - try and watch them all!
