I would like to issue an apology. i have previously made some ill-informed and foolish comments regarding Satanism and I am very sorry if these caused offence. I don't totally agree with Dr Anton Szandor LaVey's "The Satanic Bible" but it is a very good read nontheless.

Satan represents unbridled ambition. He was exiled from heaven because he thought he could do a better job running heaven, basicly. 2. It's been awhile since I read The Satanic Bible and Satanic Witch (and I'm not a Satanist) but I believe the few rituals meant for actual magic are for directing one's own (and anyone helping) psychic energy rather than some higher being. And some are just catharsis.
But IIRC, most magic was more psychology, cold reading, and a cynical understanding on human (ie, animal) nature and how to manipulate it. In a way, more a self-help book, except it's actually helpful. ;-)

What is real? Mythical creatures can alter our emotion and drive us to do things when we meditate upon them. A mythical creature can raise our energy and emotion, is that not real? How can we say something isn't real when the feelings it produces are?
@OdinCalls14 We are surrounded by its principles. What starts out as mental desire, becomes physically real for us in our lives. The argument could be made that Satan does exist physically in this manner. However, I do agree, that desire first exists as a mental construct, a visualization. That visualization begins to manifest through our indulgences of which ultimately shape our physical reality. I believe Satan encompasses both the mental and physical realms of reality.
What is strange about this is that well not being a satanist but an atheist, I have read and own all the Church of Satan Materials. If no satan exists, and no real dark force, then why do atleast people in the church of satan believe that because they write something on a peice of paper and hold a ritual mean that they can command there will into existence. It's been awhile since I read The Satanic Bible and Satanic Witch (and I'm not a Satanist) but I believe the few rituals meant for actual magic are for directing one's own (and anyone helping) psychic energy rather than some higher being. And some are just catharsis.
But IIRC, most magic was more psychology, cold reading, and a cynical understanding on human (ie, animal) nature and how to manipulate it. In a way, more a self-help book, except it's actually helpful. ;-)

When I was a teen there was gossip of me being a satanist by lying or psychotic Christians (including a school counselor). Once sick of it, a guy on the bus asked me fearfully if I really worshiped the devil & I said, "Yes, and I cast spells, so shut up." He never spoke to me again. :-D
After reading a couple of books by LaVey as an adult I wanted to go back to those gossipers & say, "You call me a Satanist as if that were a BAD thing." >:-)

The argument could be made that Satan does exist physically in this manner. However, I do agree, that desire first exists as a mental construct, a visualization. That visualization begins to manifest through our indulgences of which ultimately shape our physical reality. I believe Satan encompasses both the mental and physical realms of reality.

What is strange about this is that well not being a satanist but an atheist, I have read and own all the Church of Satan Materials. If no satan exists, and no real dark force, then why do atleast people in the church of satan believe that because they write something on a peice of paper and hold a ritual mean that they can command there will into existence. The Philosphy then doesnt make sense. And this is not venting in a chamber, she believes she can command the will of matter.
