Substance is a church that is good for beginners in Christ but is not always correctly led by the Holy Spirit. It would be a much better church if they really new how to teach people how to hear God's voice clearly for themselves. Don't forget that we are all called to die unto self so we MUST be willing and able to hear God's voice on the inside of us where ever we are and be quick to obey Him. This is how we show the Lord how much we love Him and prove our devotion to Him.
This video just seemed too much about the miracles and not about the love of God. And I also felt that with a church of that capacity it would be hard to feel like a family and feel any connections. The services seemed awesome and the music was great, but do you learn love and forgivness?Do you learn about jesus dying for our sins? Or is it all about the music, coffee and population? i dont mean for this to sound rude its just an opinion and suggestion

Substance is one of the fastest growing and healthiest churches in the United States according to Outreach magazine, and it's because of our community. We have hundred's of small groups that meet throughout the week, as well as tuesday night services that go deeper to appeal to Christians who are further along in their faith walk. The core values of the church are about love and forgiveness.
@olivialovesabbie The coffee, the music, and the atmosphere are about drawing people in, because the Twin Cities used to be one of the most spiritually dead places in the U.S. We live in a right-brained century, and modern culture is all about flash and style...but the people that are drawn to Substance for those reasons alone will be in for a surprise when their relationship with Christ grows immensely. I speak only from experience. I'm not on staff or anything. Thanks for the questions!
I am probabaly gonna be attending Northwestern College in the fall of 2010. And, I know Substance is located on the campus. I think it's awesome how what I am looking for in a church fits Soooo closely with Substance!! =)
Like Peter said, many Christians today do seem very close-minded and judgemental. So, it's a more "liberal" church, and yet it is pretty "conservative" Biblically; which is awesome!!
