This guy is a fraud he states Abilify is sedating when actually it's stimulating.

I'm on 15mg Olanzapine and 600mg Quetiapine and i do not find they turn me into a zombie or sedate me much.They actually help me with my symptoms.WIthout them i would be dead. So don't listen to this rubbish, but listen to someone like me who actually take these so called evil drugs!

@ffleaderman24 Sedating, stimulating, how different are these two effects when you get to the specifics? Perhaps it sedates one part and stimulates another. Some drugs might quiet one part of the brain that causes anxiety while stimulating a part that aids attentiveness. The question is do you function better on it or not -- do you feel better or not -- are any side effects tolerable or not? People taking an all-or-nothing view of psychiatry ignore the question. They just say, "Drugs BAD!"

I have to make a decision to take these drugs or not. I have been on and off anti-pychotics for a few years now. I have a councellor who works in a psychiatric facility and the only reason he persuades me to go back on them is fear. I stop them, feel like shit for some of the day, then after a month my councellor shows up and scares me into taking them.

Yesterday he came to my house and I when I said I feel shitty sometimes he said "it only gets worse" "your brain will deteriorate." its fucked

When I was forced to take haldol I experienced dystonia and akathesia, and I could not stay awake for very long. I had horrible, very vivid and colorful and nightmares when I slept. I felt unable to function and was contemplating suicide. Then I took myself off the drugs and slowly became more functional. However, the drugs left me with permanent damage. ya i forgot to tell i had involuntary movement of a nose muscle too after withdrawal.

isn't there a remedy for the restlessness? coz when i had consulted a institute prescribed psychiatric in IIT Kanpur for a prior problem of restlessness in legs he cured it by giving drug 'pacitane'. i hope 'pacitane' doesn't harm like the anti-psychotic?

@lotusofkama me 2 iam having with drawl i stopped 9 weeks ago from anti pycotics i have head aches constantly with derealization and visual disturbances it seems to be getting better the first weeks my brain wouldnt go into sleep mode

It took 15 hours for me to even feel a glimpse of normality again, and over 24 hours to return to normal (well, as normal as I can feel with this bullshit illness). I had an exam that day and was forced to skip school because I was unable to show myself in public without breaking out in panic.

When I told my shrink what happened, he said it's "all in my head" and offered to switch me to a different neuroleptic.

I guess I'm on my own.

I got a horrible experience whit this fucking drugs "Anti-psychotics". I started failling on school, getting big troubles with my parents, feel depressed, anxious, holpless, horrible crisis... I really want just to killmyself. My parents send my to a Psychiatric and give me Amilsulpride with a rare benzo called clotiazepam, worst shit ever, after that give me Ziprasidone, Quetiapine, and a big amount of other shit.

I lost my hope with psychiatrists, now im on Alprazolam and help me a lot, I was on Setraline and help me but really just was pointless, just kill my sense of feel my emotions and make me suicidal. This drugs can help people, but this fucking idiots called psychiatrics need to know who are just for treat PSYCHOTICS symptoms, off label use are very dangerous and close with the effectivines of placebos.

Here is what I believe "mentally Ill people" (don't respect that term) need. 1.Low stress life style..this,means a life centered around home life..no work..unless the patient wants to work, then a light, flexible work option...maybe centered around helping other people or animals,or public service..like painting walls,picking up some litter...but the patient cannot be forced or felt obligated to do this work. flexible2.clean,healthy,spacious,living environment ...(cont)

O my god I want to cry, I got restless leg syndrome for a wile from abilify. I was going through so much hell from it that I literally started going to be at 7 because I no longer wanted to be awake anymore. I also took another antipsychotic and I gained 40 pounds from it and felt awful! I just recently got off all drugs and I feel alive for the first time in years. These drugs also fuck up your sex drive, I lost friends I cared about because I felt so irrational on antipsychotics.

this is very revealing, he is full of insight but he is wrong to say that a long-term prisoner would want to be zombified if facing years in solitary confinement.

Never would anyone prefer to be on such drugs. Under no circumstances. anymore that they would prefer to have their head bashed against the wall every day. In high doses these drugs are unbearable.

I agree taht taking these drugs is a living hell. Yet, taking these drugs may convince prison officials that you're cooperating, improving & they may help you to be released rather than be raped repeatedly, beaten by guards and then left to rot in a cell for another ten years.

It's a horrible choice that some prisoners make.
