Do you happen to know any way to create custom gestures with a standard multi-touch screen? I wish to play starcraft on mine, but I can't pan or right click.
@HellspawnChrist166 you should have a look in the NUIgroup forums, there are TUIO drivers for most screens, and making a program that interprets the TUIO and sends mouse events shouldn't be too hard.
@Kwissus Thanks great info! For anyone else looking for the same thing I found a macro editor/creator for win 7. Try IBUYPOWER's "Magic", its free and seems to work with any touch screen compatible with windows 7.
This was done before there was any "off the shelf" multi-touch hardware, the whole screen was custom built using a projector and a camera. The software interpreted the camera image and sent ou mouse events. The screen was running winxp, and the software was touchlib.
I had the software pretend it was a mouse, and determined which mouse command it should send from how many points were touching the screen before being released.
Single touch was left mouse click.
Two touches was a left mouse button drag selection between the two points.
@borgqueenx 1:The first two touches were top left, bottom right: a drag selection(between the first two points I touched) and a right-click on the third point
2: The first two touches were top right, bottom lenf: a drag selection between the first two points) and a keyboard 'a' (for attack) and a left-click on the third point.
More than three touches was middle mouse drag, for panning around.
anyone know of a glove or fingerpads that can go with a touch screen monitor that alows right click and mouse click? like preasure sensitive pads on your pointer and middle finger so when you touch the screen with one it'll no if it's left or right click.
if ne1 know any names of anything like that PLEASE lemme know =s
I have actually made myself a multitouch version of the acer aspire one. To be honest moltitouch alone, isnt really that good for RTS. Multitouch combined with a mouse on the other hand will work at least just as well as with a keyboard. Games that would be optimised to recognise all different touches commands would make really well use of this. And games like supreme commander that actually lets you zoom out and see the entire battlefield would be avesome on multitouch.
Well well, you could be my savior. I've been googling all around with an issue concerning your exact config! :D
I have Windows 7 Pro (dev. version).
I run win XP Pro SP3 in Virtual PC.
When I run Starcraft it's always in a tiny 640x480 in the top left corner of my screen. How do you exactly installed/launched starcraft for having it in fullscreen?? Thx for your help!
I'm sure not playing this to make a movie I would have my hands more constantly in front of the screen so it may allow to build alot faster. Who knows....
hows it feel getting raped

Three touches was separated into two cases:

I hope that explains it.

With an RTS that is designed to work with multi touch this would work so much better.

How do you force the resolution in starcraft to full-screen?
shadowboxer2024 3 years ago
Can you even play it in windowed mode?
Kwissus 3 years ago
yes you can, specialy if you are running it in a virtual pc (i have win 7 , so i had to create a virtual pc with win xp to run the game).
This way you can either in full-screen or windowed mode

I think it would be better, seeing as though eventually it'll probably be like your keyboard and monitor in one device. But that's just my opinion.

that's really really good that a non-multitouch app can be used so effectively.
I always thought RTS would be an ideal genre to multitouch natively
