  • The Adventures of, Super Boy & Purple Lantern!

  • There's only one word to describe that last punch.

    ...PWNED.

  • i loved it.

  • Awesome! It's amazing that you did this all by yourself. Any tips in which classes to take to get up to your level?

    I just started Maya.

  • Learn the basics. Learn to animate on paper to some degree. Maya and computer animation are great but they are very complicated tools. It like starting with a chainsaw to learn to cut a turkey. Animation Mentor is an awesome school thats online. Lots of Disney animators teach on it.

  • Nice animation. But the story was stupid as hell...

  • Well done!!! its kinda got a pixar charm to it, and you've really captured the essence of the theme of two kids play fighting in the bedroom.

  • Amazing video, I loved it. It's one of the best animated videos on Youtube, easy. Hope to see more from you.

  • Quite good. I want to get to this level at some point.

  • This video captures my boys perfectly! They love super heroes and when they play/wrestle, this is exactly what they do. I got the best chuckle from this video! Thank you.

  • this was soo incredible, that I had to add it to my favorites

  • This is really brilliant in a very Zach kind of way! Congrats on making such an entertaining and well animated film. Hope all is well with you =)

  • That was awesome. I love that final punch. Keep up the good work!

  • Dude how long does it take you and do you do all by your self?

  • It took me about 4 months. Yeah except for the music I did it all myself. My graduate program is built on the idea of one person one movie.

  • The part where the Purple Lantern wiped his nose looked so awesome! It almost looked CGI!

  • OMG, this is incredible! Whenever I try to get my ToonBoom exported the sound is always off in the end.

  • Export just the video and add your sound with another program such as final cut or I used Garageband to mix my score for this movie.

  • That's what I thought, but if you have more dialogue, and you want to voice it before you animate so you can match it up to the characters. Would you animate it to match it to the voice then delete the voice and add it in after exporting it? ToonBoom isn't good with keeping up with the sound. I watched this at least 70 times already!

  • sorry for not getting back to you. You want to create a bar chart. there are many programs to do this or you can do it on your own. Now Toon boom (in the scene layout mode) can show you the sound wave. Work out the mouth positions and put them in after you have done the acting. I have not had the same issues with Toon Boom. Make sure you have the audio set to streamed.

  • Thanks! :D

  • good job!!!!!!! i like it:)

  • Nice work Zach! The five screen closeups were cool. The ceiling blast, smoke and secondary animation really brought it to life. Full power to you.

  • great job man!!

  • lol lightsaber sounds nice job

  • AWESOME! that was some nice animation ;)

    nice ending ;D

  • Kudos Zach! Seem to remember this story line from childhood experience:)

  • Bravo, Zach. It's even better than Brutus Strikes Back!
