  • Think I'm clever......

  • someone told me its about his girlfriends whos in a coma and he is trying to move on with life

  • Really... this song F*cks me up.

  • The first time I saw these guys was a Big Day Out and, at the end of an amazing set that included nude rollerskating and giant dancing sperm, they pulled this song out. I've never seen a more emotive, beautiful performance, particularly at a festival. This song was what made me buy their album. Just stunning.

  • 4ppl need to be killed

  • Sending this one out to the REEEEEEENDERS...cocksucker!!!

  • I'm spending all my time

    Driving 'round, faking clever

With a girl who seem alright

    And another one who's better

    I don't know if I lied

When I said we're not together

But I tried to talk to you

And somehow you seem gone... best song ever.

  • Holy Crap! I just figured something out! I have seen this many times and love the song but I just realised, in the clip that at the start she is fine and healthy but he slowly damages her and at the end he is in the ambulance with her. He doesn't look sorry, he just looks like he likes her a lot and doesn't grasp the gravity of the situation. There is a lot said which is unsaid in this clip. This is a very special song.

  • As somebody who writes a lot of poetry, This song really touches on something special. "I finally wrote your song, another unsent letter. In a pile addressed to you, care of something, somewhere better". Dark emotions inspire creativity, troubled relationships inspire dark emotions. Not a new concept. But He nails it in its direct presentation. Another poem/song she will never see, another unsent letter. Its beautiful. He ties the distracted metaphor straight back to its origin and nails it!

  • this song makes me remember things that would have been long forgotten.

  • I love this band, I was slightly obsessed during highschool and have seen them too many times to count. I was shattered when they broke up.. I still have my yellow MGF t-shirt that I bought at big day out 2003. Its all gross now but sometimes I wear it around the house for old times sake.

  • As to my previous post: The lyrics that hit home are: I've given up something I guess that doesn't matter I've started other things I guess that doesn't matter I finally wrote your song Another unsent letter In a pile addressed to you Care of something, somewhere better Amazing lyrics.
  • My all time favorite song.

I remember I listed this song as one of the saddest songs I have ever heard. I got the response "You do realise MGF are a parody band!" So because of their other songs they said this was basically shit because they aren't a serious band.

Coming out of my first big relationship. This song truly striked a cord for me. I will never see this song as funny or a piss take. In fact lyrics and tone it is heartbreaking. Their best song, Miss MGF! Great band.

  • Saw these guys live in my first year at Uni.

Now I'm graduating. Took me 6 years, and I think MGF are possibly a bit to blame. I really slowed down and enjoyed my life.

Spoiler: Love it while it lasts, kids. Working life sucks.

  • @PeteKillsBats right on

  • @PeteKillsBats Totally agree

  • @PeteKillsBats

lol @ kids, you're just graduating, doesn't sound like you know much about the "working life" or whether it sucks or not

  • @PeteKillsBats

I work and I meet new people everyday and I don't think it sucks.

The best thing about it is that you get paid.

I think that you're saying that money isn't important.

It's important to me because it's apart of my future life.

    Graduates What do they know!

  • what an awesome song, very emotive!!!!

  • wonder if anyone has the Panel LIVE version..hmm...the goose-bumps version ; )

  • Does bring back some awsome memories

  • seems like a lifetime ago.. so many memories that this song invokes.. some good, some bad..

  • Strong memories for me too, Everything might seem right in your life, not worrying about anything, But missing opportuntities is the Story Of this Song, Many regrets in life are Not things u Do or Did, but the Things you Didnt Do, when you had the Opportunity to, Dont Spend to much time Driving Around aimlessly, Fight, Strive and work hard For something you enjoy and Believe in. Thats what this song is about... Send That Letter.

  • @leeroyfromaus FUcking awesome comment post dude! rare thing for youtube!

  • @leeroyfromaus, right on

  • @leeroyfromaus so true

  • @leeroyfromaus Actually, it's not an allegory for missed opportunity. It's, in reality, fairly literal. I read an interview with Pinky where he described the song as about being torn between two women and not being able to choose. He's admitted before that, with exception to lyrics that Tim Rogers helped him with, he was never very good at metaphors. All of those bent "metaphors" in their weirder songs are the result of drugs and nothing more. But I don't think that detracts from it at all.

  • this song has such strong memories for me.

year 8 seems a lifetime ago.

  • i love it, but it hurts, maybe i love it because it hurts??

  • why cant i find "just because"

  • I have only just discovered this song a couple of days ago. I have played it soooo many times. Love it!!

  • Into my Playlist!!!!

  • awesome song.. good for driving

  • @karlbolch, look up "go with the flow" for a driving song

  • yep, my fav mgf song by far. loved this song for ageess.

  • fuck

  • As soon as this song starts I get this delicious chill, every time XD

  • amazing song, easily my favourite by MFG

  • The best MGF song by a mile. Awesome.

  • I figure the story is this:

The guy (played by Pinky)'s girlfriend was in a car accident and is now comatose. In order to compensate, he's trying to move on - but can only do so if his lady friend's are all in bandages and stuff like the comatose g/f. But it doesnt work and he finds himself staying with his unresponsive love, even though she can't return his affection.

Trying to replace something he's lost but he can't because death has a way of perfecting things and people we once knew...

  • "I will be your dirty fucking whore" moves me to tears.

  • That would be "Let me...."

  • I start to drift whenever I listen to this song. I consider it to be one of the best songs I've ever heard

  • Beautiful isn't it?

  • It's the dog's bollocks.

  • awesome song i love it

  • This song actually inspired my overseas travels, I lived overseas for 6 years after writing an unsent letter that I wanted to be too busy to dwell upon. The song came out right as I wrote a 3 page letter that I never sent to the guy it was too. Funny, eh?

  • This song to me brings fond memories of The old Oxford backpackers. Earlier this decade i worked there and management had jjj hooked up thru the net and came out of all speakers in the building. I would just stop dead in my tracks when unsent letter came on.

  • Do you still listen to this amazing track?

  • I do :D

  • @sojusienna Hey, it's been three years since we commented on " Unsent letter"

  • @chrisjo77 and I'm still listening to it xD
