  • I've been thinking about putting the motor in the front wheel, too. It would also balance the weight a little better. It's just a lot of work and I haven't had time to do it. Thanks Bikemaster !

  • I would get the front wheel motor, that way you'll have an all wheel drive bike for offroad.

I'm seriously thinking about doing this.

  • So with all that weight at the back does it handle like a pig offroad? I'm considering a design for high speed offroad - thanks

  • @MakeTheNoiseMTB

If I had to do it again, i would plan weight distribution a little better. Either the motor or the battery should go in the front.

  • thanks for the upload. im curently building a mountain bike that has te same kind of setup. 36v but 300watt with a 36v and 20ah battery.

  • That's an awesome electric bike. I want one!!!!!!!!

  • How dificult was to build that ebike? Does it work well as a mountain bike and how does it perform going uphill?

I love the idea and I am thinking about building an electric bicycle myself

  • what was your top speed & what range u get on one charge

  • Hey Anupam. Top speed is about 22mph (without pedaling) and Range is about 40 miles in one charge. THe motor is 500w, and the battery is 36v at 20 amp per hour

  • Nice camera work, Monkete! I like the handlbars-mounted shots. And the wipeout at 00:51 is great. Looking forward to the next episode...
