So pissed off, when i was just getting my licence people were buying cars like these as first cars for around 5-10 grand. Now days theyre worth a fortune. Wish i'd kept my Hq monaro ( only a 253 but still) that i got for 6 grand.
Had one 1977, I was 21. Replaced carter with holly 750 double pumper, hi lift cams, extractors, electronic ignition. TA 245/50s. Halogen lights, spots. First lake side pipes, later with big bore twin pipe. Was black with black interior with checkered seats. Concord hifi with several 100 watts through 3 way 9x6 in doors and 3w 6s in the rear. Had CB radio, external PA, A/C etc. Went like the clappers, nice sounds, but steering was awful, dived to center on braking and tramrodded. Had 8 years.
Brought for $NZ6500, sold same, new owner restored as it had some rust and sold for $NZ18k. Bugger. One thing it lacked and needed bad was a LSD. Full bore takeoffs just had the car enveloped in smoke for 50m or so. The chicks loved it, never failed at having them stop and wave lol. It also built up your arm muscles as it had manual steering. Borrowed a camaro with PS for a few weeks while being serviced. On its return couldn't back it into its carport. Arms had lost their strenght.
this right here...is the epithome of the charger, i dont care bout the yank one its nice n looks cool but this thing with the 340 is insane...question is this the HO 340? or the ordinary production one..the one meant for the E55 was imported from the states and essentially was a stock car angine..just wanted to find out cvause they came out with both engines
