  • Love this piece, the original is one of my favourites from bear, but this stripped down, spontaneous version is beautiful to hear too. I remember I used the album version as a soundtrack to a short film for a university unit on film editing, and my tutors loved it. Keep up the amazing work, Bear!

  • beautiful piece, I prefer it on a synth though with a deeper bass

  • @bladerunnerjb Agreed. I play piano and bass, and love this wonderful soundtrack!

  • Brother cavil saw this video lol

  • Probably my single most favorite BSG piece. Just so amazing, the build up and everything. This piano version is great as well. There's a reason this song has the most plays on my Last>FM page...

  • 4:28 <3

  • The Cavles Didn't Like This Video

  • I always get goosebumbs when i here something dak is coming

its a calm before a storm

  • this is one one of my favourite, it is so mysterious. it makes me think of the creation of everything, creation of the universe. you are wonderful Bear McCreary! thank you for your existence!!!!!

  • Did anyone else notice Bear in the very last episode when Boltar and Caprica are looking over his sholder at the magazine? Seriously, look closely!

  • WOW...just realized that was him -_-

  • Thank you to whoever mixed the original version in the studio for making it super easy for me to remove the bass, leaving the drums behind. I'm working on mixing the piano version with the drums into a looping version that will seemingly never end, and it will be my relaxation song for the rest of eternity.

  • @scififangirl42 upload to youtube PLZ?

  • @peter1592 I ended up not being able to get the drums to sync with the piano very well. I made a looping version but I don't think I can upload it to YouTube because it's a 1hr long track. iTunes doesn't play well with loops... there's always a pause between the beginning and the end, so I just stitched it together several times in Audacity.

  • No description available? Damn straight.

  • @TARDISdm64 This cant even be expressed, not in words not in symbols not in anaything else... The music tells us everything and if where about to express this in words you would need ten generations to do so.

  • When this was on the BSG game, I nuted all over the floor.

  • There are no words that can describe how beautiful, how wondrous, how moving, how inspiring this song is...

  • Epic

  • Spectacular! We want a CD! Let us pay you!!!!!!

But seriously, I would shell out full price for a cd of these piano solos.

  • One of the best pieces from the series (which is loaded with top quality stuff already) ...in my humble opinion, of course!

  • remember...the main BSG theme has a Hindu prayer hidden in it....so go ahead and enjoy the music..but remember it could lead you into believing another weird religion!

  • @StuartTheGamerNerd I think that danger only exists for folks who can actually understand spoken (or sung) Devanagari.

  • @HisDivineShadow245 doesn't keep them from humming it without really knowing what it means....it's little too much of a subliminal weapon for my taste

  • @StuartTheGamerNerd And how exactly would that get people believing in a "weird religion" if they don't know what it means? I belt out the lyrics to the Apocalypse track in my car and I am still an atheist. I think your fears are premature.

  • @HisDivineShadow245 maybe your right....with any luck people truly don't pay any attention to the lyrics :P

  • I didn't know Josh Brolin could play the piano

  • The next best thing Bear McCreary could do for humanity would be to donate his sperm to contribute to the gene pool.

  • Perfection ^^;

  • I have to admit I never cared much for BSG, the soundtrack is what kept me there all the way through and this tune is my favorite.

  • Bear McCreary is the man. He can do no wrong.

  • Had this song on a loop for a week now, Will there be a solo album we can look forward to?

  • Thank god that we can listen to this amazing composer

  • Stunning, one of my favorites. I rewatched 'The Plan' last night, I still get a little chill when this plays for Anders' confession :) beautiful!

  • Jesus ! Bear ... it's a piece of art ...

    Thank you

  • What's this? Galactica has no music! Bear Who??? :D

  • In my opinion Bear is one of the most innovative and great composers of the modern world.

  • Playing This While in BSGO just makes me wish i was in space in my own ship

  • I listen to this song when I fall asleep. This is perfection.

  • You are just beyond brilliant, Bear.

  • This is one of my absolute favorites from the whole series. Many times I've listened to it walking to and from classes, as the sun is setting over Monterey bay and the colors of the day are fading, and I'm alone with my thoughts, being lifted into a profound sort of trance by the sounds the violin and base and drums and a bunch of instruments I can't name . Those moments mean quite a lot to me. Your music is wonderful.

  • Dear Mr. McCreary,

You have changed my life with your music, rekindled my interest in pursuing engineering in univeristy to oneday work to advance space technology for humanity.. I humbly thank you for giving me my purpose.

    Sincerely,

    Lionel , from Calgary.

  • Another day, another trip, another sadness....

  • This has always been one of my favourite BSG pieces. Just brilliant.

  • EPIC *__* This is Godlike ... EPIC

  • @sspope gods i hope so

  • Masterpiece ;D

  • This is frigging amazing. I agree with those saying "Never stop!" Keep it up, we love your work!!

  • Chills and tears.

  • THANK GOD FOR 0 DISLIKES

  • I've currently got an ear infection, so I can only hear in one ear, yet this still made my day :)

  • Truly amazing. Never stop, Bear! You're one of the best!

  • Beautiful piece. One of my favs. Thank you for these. Hope there's more to come.

  • Great performance, amazing piece. Just... outstanding. Bravo !

  • Bear, is there any chance we could get MP3s or even losslesses (ideally both) of these videos? I feel so dirty every time I rip the audio off one of them, but it's the only way to take it with me when I go out.

  • There's a little piece of 'Elegy' - 1:45 Oh Mr McCreary, how I admire you and your music

  • anybody else like or fav this before the video even started?
