Much of what pro-lifers do when they protest is to cry out and ask people to open their eyes and see what they are killing. I have a photo of a baby being operated on at 21 weeks in the womb for spina bifida, where the baby grabbed the doctor's finger with his hand. Many of these late term abortions are killings of viable babies who do have feelings, who can live outside the womb. The only difference is they have not traveled down the birth canal. The only difference is location.

Yes. James Pouillon was a disabled 60+ gentleman who sat with his oxygen tank next to him holding up pictures of aborted babies. A 33 year old man shot and killed him. Prolife leaders get death threats all the time and this killing made them more consider that to be truly prolife may cost you your life. It may mean expecting to die in the service to protect the unborn. And even if abortion is not overturned, each life that is saved through the protests will be precious.

If that were so, I might tend to agree with you, but so often in history it has been human nature to dehumanize anyone we find inconvenient. We regarded black people inferior, kidnapped some, enslaved some, killed some. We had caste systems and abused those at the bottom. We abused the American Indians regarding them mere savages. Much of what pro-lifers do when they protest is to cry out and ask people to open their eyes and see what they are killing. I have a photo of a baby being operated on at 21 weeks in the womb for spina bifida, where the baby grabbed the doctor's finger with his hand. Many of these late term abortions are killings of viable babies who do have feelings, who can live outside the womb. The only difference is they have not traveled down the birth canal. The only difference is location.

I am sorry, but the argument you give may be commonly accepted emotionally, but it is built on irrational assumptions, namely 1) the mother is unfit, 2) unfit environment is the only choice for the baby, 3) the baby will become a delinquent. 4) people should be killed early before they have a chance to become criminals. I'm not catholic. I was raised agnostic and searched out several religions until I settled on Christianity in the early 1970s. I respect Catholics, but I could never be one. The apocrypha. I always thought it sounded a little hokey to say I'm a Christian but don't care much for religion, but I think it describes how I believe. That doesn't mean I avoid church as some do, but I just don't like phony ones. I don't like lies or exaggerations or dog and pony shows. I had a major crisis in faith when my ex was not healed from bipolar & went into an affair & ended our marriage. I went back over my life and began to plan my exodus and new life as an atheist. I tried to dismiss each miracle I had seen and each blessing as luck or coincidence, and I found myself praying for wisdom how to tell my family and friends and how to resolve some of the miracles that were too impossible to explain. The spiritual side of it all is weird. I'm between a baby boomer and gen X which means I caught a lot of those weird hippy years with Moonies, Hare Krishnas, Jesus Freaks, and various cults like The Way. Catholics were a curious, exclusive religious mystery to me. My dad was into UFO theories, Rosicrucian's, & my grandparents were sort of high up into the Masonic Lodge. Transcendental Meditation was big. I argued against the Bible & my friends got me to check it out until I got curious.

Anyway, it's interesting you started catholic and became an atheist. My grandfather on my dad's side did that when a priest demanded an exorbitant amount of money to do a simple funeral for his mom. Anyway I surrendered my life to Christ and the rest of the family argued at first but saw the change and eventually my father led his father to the Lord about 6 weeks before he died of cancer. I don't know about your situation, but I've seen a lot of people fall away from Catholicism.

Are you saying abortions are not happening? I don't believe pro-lifers pictures are fake, but if they were, would it make abortion less real or less evil?

Shiprah7, I couldn't agree more. Contraception is so dangerous to women. If you don't want to get pregnant as a young girl then abstain until marriage. Are we all too selfish to save ourselves for someone who loves us? I'm waiting for marriage I don't want to be involved in any unwanted pregnancies. Contraception causes abortions also. in the uk 95-98% of abortions are at 9 weeks or below, which are a bunch of cells and nothing more. After that they are to save the life of the women usually.Abortion is needed.

I am not parrot, im a woman who knows whats happened before abortion was legal and knows that this world and the situation of women would make it so it would happen again. My grandmother lived in such a time anf told me of the horrors of people she knew who died because of back street abortions.
Its working class women who are at the bottom of the barrel who suffer the most from illegal abortions. Middle class woman can go to other countries. safe places. Poorer women who run things get hurt.

i shall not worship what believe to be a man with a brilliant mine and nothing more. you know less than i do on what happened to my grandmother, you didnt know her. she didnt even want flowers at her funeral because she felt it was a sin to spend money on the dead.

I'm an Abortion moderate. I believe it should be outlawed in the 3rd Trimester (84% of Americans agree). But I believe the PBBB is bad legislation. If you outlaw Dilation and Evacuation, doctors will just perform an even more ghastly and inhumane procedure of dismembering the living Fetus inside uterus. i think that most of the people who quote the bible to prove that it is wrong are misunderstanding it. the bible is not a rule book. the bible was written by many people who didnt know each other, who had different opinions, and who were writing down things that they had witnessed. quoting the bible to prove that it says (insert a sin here) is okay is like quoting a history textbook to prove that it says that murder/slavery/rape/war/etc. is okay.

Most 'fetuses' are killed before they even have a full functioning heartbeat or developed lungs...So it technically is not murder. Plus, this makes me think of DNRs (No Not Resesitate) Is that murder too? Don't be so one sided on things. Oh and more thing, the entire world does not believe in God so stop using 'him' as a legitimate argument.
