What a fucking waste of all that material... anyone with an ounce of pyrotechnics knowledge would know that the charge has to be completely under the cremora to lift it into the air... not lagging around the outside of a mortar
I think it is traditional to put lift powder UNDER whatever it is you are trying to lift, LOL. I recall a quote from the skylighter newletters saying that a full pound of *2FA* in a 5 gal will lead to pieces "Strewn far & wide" if the bucket is shatter-able. I'd suggest using HDPE, cutting way back on lift, and using something comparable to 2FA (or cannon grade graphite coated). 2FG seems a little extreme.
ok first off u prob only needed 1/4 of the bp 2nd how did u expect the creamer from the botom of the buccet to go off if nuthing was pushing it the only powder tht would of gon in the air is the powder tht was covering the mortar comensence u should of either put a little bit of bp in the mortar coverd the bp with paper then put the creamer on top of tht or you could of put the lb of bp in the botom of the bucket then put paper on tht then put in the creamer tht fireball would of been extream.
Ok First off, you clowns are the reason why the ((Pros)) say DONT DO THIS AT HOME!!! trial and error is what gets people hurt, and that is reason we have so many laws and regulations now on special effects. I cant belive your dumbass put this on you tube for world to see. The proper effect you are looking for goes about 50 to 60ft in the air if done correctly key word their. I do profesional fireworks and use cremoras all the time at the end of shows. leave the special effects to the pros!!!!!!!
Why on Earth would you pay full price when you can get bulk floor sweep for a hell of a lot less. You guys had NO clue as to actually do this. Wow. You're lucky you didn't get hurt. Theoretically, you guys are possibly smart. But like your theory of the charge sucking the powder up...you are wrong!
Try a 55 gallon blue plastic barrel buried flush in the ground. 15 lbs of 2FA with 220 lbs of cremora plus 40 lbs. of inserts and jumping jacks. Times Two. Really cool effect. Only problem is the craters produced.
Yeah, there's a really fundamental flaw in that construction, as I assume you know perfectly by now: None of the cremora is atop the bp, hence the bp charge doesn't lift any of the creamer (nor ignite it), but only disperses it via the shock effect of the bp charge, as opposed to the creamer being struck by a jet of flaming bp, and creating a hellish, face-melting, towering inferno. I'll shut up now.
the big flaw was for a 5 gallon bucket you only eed about 8 ounces of black powder in a litle sandwich bag or something. Then but that bag in a bowl that fits snugly in the bucket then pour powder to fill the bucket 3/4 and your done
That didn't go wrong anyways

1 pound of powder?!? you didn't need more than 2 tablespoons for that! And looking directly over the mortar just before launch is never smart!

Wow, even i knew that wasn't gonna go as expected... you must be REALLY dumb.

Nice pipe bomb. Dude, you have NO idea how to build this properly. 1, way too much powder. 2, you need the powder UNDER the cremora.

you should have had a second charge fused with quickmatch above the bucket
FierySockHat 2 years ago
It lacked compressed air to give lift and rationalise the cremora. And a flame to ignite
