Brit Hume is innocent, in the sense that he appears to want Tiger to live a better life; to be true to himself, his wife and family, and to those who love him. Hume desires Tigers "well-being." The problem though is that Hume seems to promote however subtle, a righteous Christianity, the kind of sentiment that offends those of other Paths of Faith. Forgiveness is, in it's essence, being "healed" of what it is that is distorted within the human condition. This can be achieved without Religion.

Imus fundamentally misses the point. Christ is the only path to salvation. Christ's redemptive powers are unmatched because he alone is the way, the truth, and the life. So, Brit was correct in what he said. Even if Buddhism does offer some version of redemption, what are you redeeming yourself from? And for what purpose?  And to who? And who is judging? What's the penalty for failure? Since there's no God in Buddhism and Nirvana is impossible to reach, it seems obvious he was right.

Your comment is fundamentally wrong. The ultimate goal of Buddhism is the cessation of all suffering an disappointment, learned by the Buddha on his own and taught to those who follow. We Buddhists leave suffering, that is our redemption, the purpose? To end Samsara. You are also implying a watchful eye by saying "who". God(s) do not matter when it comes to suffering, we're all in it together. Also, saying Nirvana is impossible to reach is an out right lie, no where does Buddhist text say this.
