@pest1785 I think if Fedor had more time, he would've won the ground game too. He almost had a Sambo Leg Lock in. Look at how many times he escaped the BJJ blackbelt's submission attempts. He stopped an arm triangle, rear naked, and knee bar all in the same round. He was avoiding that ground n pound for the most part too, but Silva got him a couple of times and Fedor swelled up. Fedor survived that full mount for the ENTIRE round. That's gotta say something.

People don't realize that it was probably one maybe two shots that messed Fedor's eye up. If you watch the fight again you will see that Fedor block a lot of those shots, so you are absolutely right. @kuumpirukas i disagree, his boxing techinque wasn't a strong point as much as his reflexes. even when he was fatigued and taken a lot of damage he still had the reflexes to snatch a submission or land a clean combination. he can throw good punches but never had any movement, even less footwork these days though which makes his lack of headmovement a huge defensive hole
