in one of the lines right after this scene, Bashir talks about humanity and how when push comes to shove, we're not so different than the Romulans and the Cardassians. He wondered if we were frightened enough, would we abandon our principles and go back to where we started.
@cdciam09 you can see the answer to that question... every time a natural disaster or other large calamity occurs, and you see the populace in a state of panic and indifference to those all around them. It happens most of the time, but not all the tiime.
@wijayapala Well Gul Dukat is a character on Star Trek DS9 of course and in one episode he refers to himself in his logfile as Dukat, S.G. -- in fact his first name is "Skrain". The G might be for Gul but Im not sure! LOL
Noble ambitions; but avoiding a 3rd World War is not entirely in our hands. The only way to truly avoid such a horrible event would be to dig down to the root of the cause and pull it out. And the root of the cause of most wars the past 334+ years is, as hard as it might be to believe, orchestrations of the Illuminati.
They've said in the extras that when they were shooting this episode an article appeared in the papers talking about a proposal, similar to this. Scary! I'm glad that didn't happen.
This is one of the reasons why I love Star Trek so much, it makes you think too.
Let's hope we won't make mistakes like this, and avoid a third world war...

DukagSG1, could you tell us what "S.G." stands for? It's not "Star Gate" is it?

Winners never quit and quitters never win. I for one intend on being as determined as Rocky Balboa when it comes to this sort of thing.
