  • Where´s the body of the sound?

  • Very nice playing on both of your videos! And awesome guitar! You should post some more covers :D

  • Does this come in diffrent models and colors?

I play alot of diffrent tuning arrangements and this would make it easy to change

and not have to go over to another guitar.

  • grreat job

  • I heard your perfect pitch bending and i thought you don't need an auto-tuner

  • Nice job. Nice tone. I bought my robot LP yesterday. Love it! Perfect tuning... in a few seconds. Pulled the knob, strummed it twice, and bam! .. perfectly tuned in standard tuning. I didn't have to make any adjustments manually to tune .. just play .. with that nice Les Paul sound. :) And no whammy bar to get u out of tune. :)

  • I heard that people are having problems charging them and stuff but they still are cool!

  • nice sweet sound, robots are fine,, leans to self expression,!!!! with out the hang ups,

lets face it, "we can all tune our guitars, !!!! so robots are fine,!!!

  • do you have the tabs for this im trying to find them and be over amitoius since im 13 but im willing to give anything a go great solo by the way sounds awsome !

  • nice playing :D

can you please give me the link to the tabs ??

    i cant find them :(

  • The only thing that these guitar need is Ultra-Access frets for solo

  • hey thats kick ass but a word of help at the end say it gets better and dont go away because i was just about to go to something else but i was wrong

  • bravooo

  • The guitar is not worth the price. If you need a self tuning guitar to get the different tunings, hang up the guitar right now

  • @Glockenator , You should own one before to be able to judge about price / quality ratios ... My opinion...

  • how much did that guitar cost

  • is the guitar able to tune itself with the signal going to the amp, or does it cut the signal?? I would like to hear the strings tuning themselves through the amp....and nice playing man!

  • @pinoc5 i got one too. It's an awsome guitar

  • @pinoc5 You are absolutely Right Brother. I love my Robots. Especially the ones that we have with the Bound neck, and smooth black ebony boards.Play as GOOD, or Better then my Limited Edition Les Paul. Then again, it all depends on how much you pay for them to meet that price point. An excellent cond. Les Paul Robot with all accessories should be somewhere between $1,000, low and as high as $1,700.00.Of course desperate flippers sell the 1st ed. for over $2,000.00. I look for ones needing repair

  • @Glockenator why does it matter? tuning a guitar is a pain in the ass and somepeople just don't like to bother with it. considering when you tune a guitar you have to tune it like 4 times after you tune it to get it exact. on top of that, it enables the player to create a song with more dynamic range of style, they can literally change their tuning at any point in the song. you can go from e flat for an into to standard and move on from there. its a great design. thank you gibson.

  • @custommade21 It's not that hard to plug in a tuner, pluck the string and turn the tuner head. It takes 30 seconds to tune a guitar.

  • @Glockenator It rarely takes 30 seconds to tune to Drop D, G or almost any other tuning, other than standard. If it only took 30 seconds, I'd agree with you, but it usually takes me at least 5-10 minutes to get it dead on. This is simply a huge convenience and allows one to switch from playing the Stones to Rage Against the Machine or Hendrix, who I believe tuned down a half step. What's bad about that? I hate tuning. It's a chore. Playing is fun.

  • Comment removed

  • @Glockenator having a self-tunning guitar dosen't means you're unable to tune your guitar...is like saying that having a car means you're unable to walk...it just an extra and I think this guitar rocks am I would love to own one

  • @Glockenator Right on - this demo, although well played, has a very thin sound, so have Gibson had to compromise the density to squeeze in all the electronics? Or maybe you have to spend so much time pulling knobs, twiddling, waiting and then watching flashing LEDs that you forget to adjust the tone .... trouble is, I assume that has to be done manually. Dammit. So much to remember. Think I'll just adjust this B string and - ah - there I am. Back in tune.

  • yeah how is it

  • how much is it

  • I like it Dude

  • So Pi, when are you gonna stop mucking around with covers and get Patrick into the bloody studio? :D

  • does it also sounds better than other guitars? ;)

  • is so beatiful.... the guitar

  • So over priced

  • is changing the pickups on this guitar diffrent from changing it on a normal guitar

could i put an active pickup set into it

  • Awsome playing and awsome guitar!

  • that guitar has a way smoother sound then the darkfire

  • awesome playin and F#*K dat guitar looks good

  • It also tunes itself...

  • awesome sound bro!

  • the future of music is in this instrument

    cool!!!!!

  • are the pickups really glowing???

  • He probably just got a UV lamp, and they are white so it makes them glow...

  • noffense, dumbass, pickups dont glow especially sensor applied pickups onto a robot guitar

  • No, it's the reflection of my spots I have in the ceiling. The pickups have chrome covers and are mirroring

  • Nice, you play it perfectly but next time put less distortion

  • good job nice guitar though my darkfire is way sweeter

  • nice solo and cool guitar :)

  • Hallo

This is Standard Robot or Studio Robot ?

  • looks like a studio to me since its got no pickguard

  • wats the difference

    '?

  • It tunes itself, to any tuning you want, and is very easily restring-able as the guitar will basically do everything after you insert the string.

  • and how much more do these cost than like a les paul standard?

  • They cost 3,999 dollars, which is 100 more than the 2008 les paul standard.

  • class

  • complimenti!! :)

  • Another brick in the wall pt 2 was actually played on a les paul. probably one of the only songs gilmour played without a strat.

  • is this the Manhattan Midnight colour? cause i want this colour.

nice cover too...love pink floyd :D

  • hey does that thing tune up as your playing? nice leads!!

  • No,well mine doesn't.

  • i read on Gibson that the robot SELF TUNES when u change it at the bottom so if ursdont then i think theres a problem.....

  • AWESOME !!!!!!! :D

  • not effect ? :D

  • AWESOME!!!

  • nice video =)

  • Sounds just like the real thing!! Great job!

  • REAL TIGHT

  • Well, thats cool

  • Sounds like the weather channel "local on the 8s"

    lol

  • lol so true.

  • Which strings do you suggest for a robot guitar?

  • If you intend to do more down tunning stuff then uptunning then go for .11 to .12 set of strings.. but harder to play indeed..

  • Nice cover and nice guitar dude... I'm thinking to buy a robot explorer... But I have questions.. How's the self tunning system? Are you happy with it? Is there any fret buzz?

  • Thanx.Honestly,Im more then happy with the system. I own 11 Guitars and took min 4 to 5 guitars for live performance, as i am using a lot of alternate tunings like (dropD, 1/2 down, 1/2 down plus drop "D", 2 tones down..etc.). Since I got the Robot I only use 2 guitars.

Big benefit. The tuning is very fast.. 15 sec to go from normal tuning to 1/2 down plus drop "D". No buzzing on the lp... do not know on the explorer. It can not manage 2 tones down unless you use bigger strings (.12-.13)

  • i mean 5/5

  • Nice dude 5/3=)

  • some compression would make that near to perfection

  • Look the gibson les paul studio rbot ebony is the same guitar that are you playing on this video isn´t it?The diference is in the color isn´t it?

  • these go to some number beyond $2000. range is prob $2000-$3500

  • how much are these

  • alot

  • I said this guitar for beginner who won't want study tune. ;)

  • nice guitar nice cover

  • tht was good teach me im new

  • This guitar for monkeys who can't play guitar!!!

    Whats this fucked invention?

  • You are the monkey as you even do not understand the aim of using alternate tunings in guitar play man.... buy yourself a playstation and guitar hero or climb back on your tree.. this will avoid posting useless and senseless comments over the net!

  • heh are you crazy???!!

Who are play the guitar well, don't need to these stupid things !

  • fuckin study ur english bud. shu th fuck up and go back to GH like pinoc5 said. fuck off ya lousy POS

  • pinoc how true u r i m wondering haha dont pay any mind to such comments i must say u congrats for having such an amazing guitar hooooo i can only dream of having this :) hehe

    happy playing

    :)

  • thanx dude... I was were lucky getting it.. 8-)

  • Yeah it's for monkeys?

are you a fucking douche bag or what?

This is so fucking neat, a guitar that can tune itself in like 10 different tunings. and you say its a waste?

    I agree with pinoc5.

go get your GH3 and set it on easy. Maybe you can be slow ride now that you have given everyone on Youtube this wonderful insight!

    fucking jackass.

  • u kno ace frehley used that guitar in rock honors

  • actually, for this solo gilmour uses a goldtop les paul.

  • that was very good, it sounds almost exactly the way it does in the song

  • man u rock!!! :)!!!

  • With all due respect I just dont like so many extras on a guitar. but seriously does that thing really work? I mean as far a the automatic tuning? I just couldnt trust that. But like I said not trying to be negative. If any one would like to check out my video it called Solo output

  • It works really well....not a novelty at all...

  • no way 4,000$ for this guitar. in israel (the holy land which guiatrs cost twice the price than in the USA) this guitar is 2.5 grand.

  • cool maybe you can send me one then :P

  • its still alot for this guitar, it has an awful sound.

  • It's the effects and crappy playing of an awesome solo, not the guitar...

  • sounds great!! you got a gem :)

  • What the hell is a robot guitar

  • It has this automatic tuning thing supposed to have several open tunigs allready programed into it. So I think its total load of shit. sorry for offending any body its just the purist in me.

  • how much it cost?

  • alot

  • 2000-3000 lol

  • I think they're $4,000 (the originals where like $2,500 or something).

  • nice playing! Man I would love to just even see one of those guitars irl :S

  • is it me or does the guitar have almost no sustain?

(i still love the guitar and the finish)

  • maybe it's how the song is played.

  • That could be caused by effects or volume settings too.

  • awsome

i would replace the pickups with vintage les paul but otherwise it sounds awsome

  • ITS SOUNDS BEAUTIFUL!!!

  • i have had the pleasure of playing both a vintage srat and a vintge les paul both very good guitarsi must say i only prefer the start because hendrix played it.

and dude ur guitar looks very swish indeed fantastic playing friend

  • It seems like those new hex gibson-pickups they use on the new les paul sucks quite wildly doesn't it? :)

On the plus-side, the tuning-system probably has no effect on tune since it's all mechanical.

  • coool cover man.but i think that a normal les paul its a lot better than this robo les paul.dunno its very cool for the tuning but a guitar has to be only wood and passion

  • i agree

  • yeah, but if u can get it all why not?

  • Dude, you are great. 10/10!

  • excellent soloing and great song, Nice Git as well!!

  • dude, kool solo, kool guitar!!!!!!!!

  • they just lowered the price to 1400!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 1.6

  • dude that is some awesome tone.

  • does feel like a perfect fit in your hands?? I mean does it feel confortable.

  • i love the tone. sounds more like a prs than a gibson though.

  • good fucking sound

  • wooow cool!

  • cooool. sounds like the real deal :P

  • I thought he played a '61 Telecaster during The Wall recording sessions? That's what it says on Wikipedia. But good solo. Those Robot Les Pauls expensive?

  • not really like 1200-1300 or something

  • yeah bout £1500-2000

  • is it worth the money?? im thinking of buying one

  • It is definately it's a gibson les paul, sounds great and has tons of sustain, buy it if the price is ok of course... 2500 abs..maximum to pay!

  • U have one, and for $4000 it is worth it.

  • *I have one

  • great solo

  • im about to buy one..are there any flaws or problems with the tuning mate?

  • Hi Dude, basically not, but if you intend to use very low tunings, like 2 tones down, it will not work unless you string up very thick strings.

I could not manage to tune down 2 tones (from E to C).

I would say the limit is one tone down (from E to D) which is already quite low, the strings are then really latchy..

The tuning system is quite fast and precise, perfect for live conditions!

otherwise there is no flaws, the guitar sounds great and has a really nice sustain and tone.

    Saluti

    Pino

  • I love this solo!!! Excelent cover!

  • Can you calibrate the tuning? I normally tune off of somthing calibrated to 445. Ill stick to my 1959 Reissue for the moment.

  • You can calibrate the tuning. You can even tune to a reference if you need to. (Playing wth a piano..). The guitar has 6 presets wich can be overwritten with you own tunings..

    cheers

  • Dude. I got a robot. How can i get Guns N' Roses style tuning? (half step down on every string).. how do i do that?

  • in first place this song is called "another brick in the wall part 2".

and you can buy a microafination guitar, because it dont lose his tunning in the midle of a performance and have a tremolo.

but it is a good try to get better the les paul.

pd: excuse my bad english, my languaje is spanish

  • In the first place no it's not lol.

y no eres malo con ingles.

  • ok \\m//

  • dude thts sicccc

  • So when are they going to come out with a robot woman?I probaly play that.

  • someone can tell me how that guitar is robot and how it works?

  • When you pull out the master control knob and strum all the strings it automatically tunes itself.

And there is other stuff that I can't think of now.

  • that was awesome

FUCKING HELL I WANT A ROBOT ITS MY DREAM TO PLAY A ROBOT LP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that guitar is just, i dont have the words to describe it...

  • it's like a guitar with robot tuners?

    ...

Except from that, it's like any other LP, I think.

  • well i dont have an lp, dont even have that much money, and this is my favourite of all the lps

so its not just a guitar with robot tuners-its a dream guitar :)

  • yeah midi!

  • its not that hard to play that solo all you need to do is play around with the penatonic scale after listening to the song and you can probably figure it out by ear but dude you were good and i loved the tone real pink floydish...

  • True!... Thanx Dude.. Pino

  • arrrghhh i just got my guitar out after watching your vid

and i thought 'ah crap, im gonna have to tune it'

    :(

  • that was great i wish i could play like that lol

  • youre very good dude.

  • thats one sexy beast

  • nice guitar...and very nice solo man ;)

  • Note: Alternate tunings, are something used to generate unique sounds in songs. basicly you tune all strings to a seperate tone. Most bands use 3-4 per performance. Some use as many as a dozen.

  • its not just a guitar its a revolution

  • you are one lucky son of a gun to have that guitar!

  • sweet

  • Nice... I still have to tune my own guitar haha

  • Awesome! Wish I had that as a ringtone on my phone.

  • smug... I have a acustic guitar eehhh

  • dai nn puoi fare un assolo del genere kn una gibson...devi usare la evetta tantissimo...cmq bel lavoro...sai usare bene il pizzicato

  • jeez, the guitar doesn't play itself, it just tunes itself. i wouldn't buy one myself because i don't think it's worth the extra money to have the quick tuning, but to say that the instrument is played with "technology and laziness" is ridiculous.

  • Ridiculous. There are Guitar Hero competitions going on around the country!!

I think I've made my point.

  • wtf does guitar hero have to do with this? this may have an automatic tuner, but it's still a real guitar.

  • I don't see "hero" in the tags of the video, so I don't see why you came up with this question.

  • I was talking to DjosueD. "Ridiculous. There are Guitar Hero competitions going on around the country!!

I think I've made my point." I just don't exactly see what his point exactly is. He's comparing a guitar that tunes itself to a plastic guitar shaped video game controller.

  • Oh, okay. Sorry.

  • No problem. :)

  • This is a real guitar, DjousueD. I don't get why you think just because it's self tuning that it plays itself. Obviously you know nothing about guitars.

  • ur a dumb ass DjosueD wat is up with ppl and guitar hero the song he plays isnt even in guitar hero. gibson are in guitar hero but gibsons wer famouse way b 4 the fukn game so can u really explain to all of us wat is ur point

  • it doesnt take talent to tune a guitar

  • Yeah, only a few minutes.

I really don't see the point in throwing out so much money, just to save 5minutes of every week or so.

  • hit the nial on the head there buddy!
