  • Most retarded audio on Youtube? Possibly!

Makes this thing un-freaking-watchable. Why even bother uploading such a pile of crap?

  • WHY ARE YOU YELLING? -> IM NOT YELLING, THIS IS HOW I TALK!- in samuel jackson voice...

  • this guy sounds indian!

  • i thought everything was billet

  • I wonder why the crankshaft was not center drilled to make it lighter?

  • I have headphones and I will murder you... VIDEO POSTER...

  • Thanks for destroying me ears.

  • I miss the V10's in F1.

  • WHAT!?!?!

  • You can almost hear the video going FUCK YEAHHHHHH CAPS LOCK!

  • I prefer the sound of a nice 5 cylinder turbo engine (think Volvo 850, S60 T-5/R) to any engine sound I've ever heard... though a V10 like in the Dodge Viper sounds sweet as well...

  • OUCH !! MY EARS !! :-(

  • Thumps up if you think that the lexus LF-A is the closest sound to an F1 engine in the road

  • Eleven. Exactly. One louder.

Why don't you just make ten louder and make ten be the top number and make that a little louder?

    [pause] These go to eleven.

  • Thumps up if your volume was up not knowing this thing was loud.

  • Damn that was ,..LOUD!!!

  • 18000 RPM in a 10 cylinder car....wow no wonder things things hit over 210 MPH like it's easy

  • @WildBillHabiki i thought it was 1.5l 4 cylinder engines for 2013

  • modern f1 engines are the best in the world. too bad they are changing them to 1.6L V-6s in 2013. that's a real shame.

  • @WildBillHabiki Jeez, why not just use RC engines at that point...

  • @Snoep76239 you would need alot of rc engines to power an f1 car, and they are not reliable. That would be ear rape for the audience hearing an f1 car come by with 350 nitro engines all doing 40,000 rpm

  • @Daschickenify I was being sarcastic, as compared to past F1 engines a 1.6L *IS* an RC engine. Although you do have a point, it would definitely "ear rape", but isn't that why we go see F1 racing in the first place? :-)

  • @Snoep76239 why yes it is, but it should be good sounding ear rape.

  • its too quiet i think the volume needs to be raised

  • FUCKKKKKKKKKKK thanks, love having my ear drums and headphones breaking at the same time.

  • SOMEONE HAS STOOD NEXT TO THE ENGINE FOR TOO LONG

  • @OZZl3 YOUR PREACHIN DA WORDDD

  • FUCK, my ears just died y0.

  • Comment removed

  • Those are some pretty fucking primitive "advance" casting techniques!

  • Gosh that VO was like an F1 engine at full throttle.

  • oh god my ears

  • They can't afford decent video?

  • that shit just really fucked up my ears

  • wonder if it could go in a road car

  • @tunastrike11 search renault espace F1...not exactly a road car, but the closest i think...

  • sounds like a guy from national geographic, exept for the dramatic stuff they tell about everything.

  • WHAAAT?!?! WHAAAT!?!?!!

  • I could hardly hear the video. From 50 m away at lowest possible volume

  • The dudes voice is HORRIBLE for narration and the background music IS FUCKING ANNOYING AND POINTLESS. The background music doesn't make the video more exciting it only makes a lot of distracting noise. YOU FUCKING IDIOTS THAT GO TO THE SAME SCHOOLS TO LEARN THIS SHITTY WAY OF EDITING ARE IDIOTS.

  • The word is "mute"

  • @uyngane nope it is moot. As in little or no practical meaning

  • @JohnRTonk You might pronounce it "moot" but you spell it "Mute".

  • I'm an American who loves F1. I'm also a mechanical engineer and have a huge passion for cars. The argument about Europe vs USA is completely moot, have any of you ever heard of globalization. All western countries have amazing engineering capabilities, trust me I know from experience. Also I wouldn't knock on pushrods, I have a 2008 Corvette Z06 and its powertrain is bulletproof. A 500+ HP car that gets 28 hwy mpg is a wonderful piece of engineering.

  • no wonder the Americans arnt in f1 they are dumb as fuck lol

  • I learned absolutely nothing from this vid

  • @tklew618

I think you forgot to mention "the loudest fucking video" in your tags.

  • what does he mean by cereal [serial] boxes? I'm American and only rarely does an English euphemism confuse me

  • @TheScientist0000000 he means THE LOUDEST F*CKING VOLUME POSSIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i thing formula1 is one of the coolest sports ...

  • formula 1 is boring, hell even the world rallye championship is boring , they should go back in time like the 50's no computers , no safety devices , u mess up u die , simple as that , that would tell apart they boys from the men....fangio, nuvolari etc

  • Nice video... too bad they never know when to shut up and cut the music.

  • I wonder how F1 never got any decent popularity in America. Might be because they're still racing pushrod engines, the sort of thing Europeans only use on trucks because head gasket replacement is simpler.

Now Formula 1 is a monument to European engineering.

  • @ruiferreira89 We have NASCAR because there's too many "stupid americans" in America. However, we also have the best space program in the world which is a monument to human engineering possibility > f1 (coming from an aspiring f1 engineer)

  • @CBielski87 Are you talking about that motorsport where they still use pushrod V8 engines?

And is that space program the one that only got its initial success becaus of that guy... what was he called? Von Braun, sounds like German to me. Wonder if it has anything to do with V2 rockets.

Oh and by the way, we weren't racing with the USSR for space conquest. That's the only reason you started your space program anyway.

Going back to cars, European fuel efficiency is another monument.

  • @ruiferreira89 The melting pot that is america includes a fusion of ideas from various people from multitude of countries/cultures. "American" means you live in America, not much else, unless you're a hillbilly, bumblefuck hick, then you're just a NASCAR fan. V1/V2 rockets provided a model basis for aerodynamics in flight (as opposed to other fluids, a continuous field of study). Sending PEOPLE to space is an entirely different story. American facilities provided this (and still do).

  • @CBielski87 What a melting pot. In no other western country is science being attacked by creationist organizations as much as in the US. As admirable as sending people to space is, you've only won the race to the moon, the Soviets got to space first. What is the meaning of that? On everyday stuff like cars, motorcycles, etc, Europeans have been far more innovative for decades.

  • @ruiferreira89 pros/cons to America (as is any country). Creationists will die (and can go to hell :P), science will always live. Who the fuck cares, anyway? America has been on a decline in technology for a decade now and you still can't compare [any] euro country to ours (as I write this from Germany)... its laughable that you compare the auto industry to the space industry (proves your lack of real engineering knowledge).

  • @CBielski87 The whole space industry topic came from your side. I did not compare the two industries, I've only said you won the race to the moon, but not to space. If you are unable to interpret a simple argument that just proves your lack of interpretation and argumentative skills. Sure, some people do engineering for a living, but no one can live without being able to interpret an argument. It's a most basic skill.

  • @ruiferreira89 And I think you mean Japanese* fuel efficiency (if you're talking about high pressure fuel injection).

  • @ruiferreira89 What's wrong with pushrods?

  • that is quite loud

  • thanks to the announcer i feel like i have the hearing ability of a 90 year old now..

  • how much MPG will these have? Good for Street Legal Use?

  • how much does a formula 1 engine cost?

  • @firefox8192 The whole car cost around $1,000,000. (not counting the crew required to maintain it) Just the engine is in the $300,000 to $400,000 range.

  • @Warblade118

Engines are 50% of whole car. In 2005. when V10 engines was normally, each engine cost 500,000 - 600,000 euros, gearbox is like 160,000 euros and brakes are 140,000 euros. F1 bolid from 2005. year can cost over 1M euros easily.

  • LOUD NOISES!

  • This is just cool.

  • Holy shit my ears! X_X

  • My speakers blew up!! its start to catch fire.... RUUUNNNN!!

  • I just blew up my speakers.........

  • OUCH! TWO THUMBS DOWN.

  • don,t you just love that sound of v10 engine.

  • HI BILLY MAYS HERE....

  • LOLOlol I just laughed so hard because of how ridiculously loud this was

  • what? i cant hear you.... well at least not anymore :D

  • Holy fuck batman is it loud enough?

  • this guy is deaf thats why he shouts...now everyone else is lol

  • I think my twitter blew up...

  • Of what material is the engine made?

  • @Bokarumenka Mostly aluminum. If they can get enough strength they might make the outside out of magnesium and then some of the internal structure out of aluminum. But, since they use the motor as a stressed part of the car I doubt they can get away with magnesium.

  • I just joined to be one of the 684,948thousand viewers that are deaf after this clip.....

  • Oh dear ! The guy was reading the text in font size 42....

  • It's like Barry Scott or Chris Moyles is presenting this.

  • Wonder if my dad would ever consider putting that engine in his Hyundai?

  • WHAT DID YOU SAY>?????????????

  • @jsnyara

I SAID WHAT DID YOU SAY???

  • tooooo fking loud !!!!!

  • hmm... Mclaren V10 engine... datsun 240z... HMMMM....

  • WHAT!!!??? i cant hear you!?!?! IM GONNA HAVE TO ASK YOU TO SPEAK UP!!!

  • a Formula 1 engine is designed to last 2,375 race weekends or about 1200 km.

according for FIA rules, each driver / car has 8 engine for the entire season.

    19 races this year / 8 engines = 2,375 race weekends

  • @UserNamei5 And third, let me put this into perspective for you, it takes about 800-900HP JUST to drive the supercharger on a Top Fuel engine. Which means if you hooked an F1 engine up to the 14-71 supercharger a Top Fuel engine uses the F1 motor would not even be able to make full boost.

  • @UserNamei5 Wow, I don’t think I’ve seen so much ignorance crammed into 500 characters or less before. That’s quite an achievement. First off, Top Fuel cars don’t run off ethanol, they run on nitromethane which actually has far less energy/volume than the fuel F1 cars use. Second, Top Fuel cars have a low static compression ratio of about 6:1, lower than F1, to accommodate the massive amounts of fuel, much of which is still in a liquid state prior to combustion and is therefore “uncompressible.”

  • @UserNamei5

Yes, drag engines are cheaper, only forged block cost 30,000$ - 40,000$ and other parts + gearbox can reach price about 250,000 $.

Formula 1 engines are about 50-60% of all price of F1 bolid, so at least double expensive than Top Fuel Dragster engines.

And F1 engines are all NA , top fuel dragster engines are supercharged and using explosive fuel.

  • sorry what was that

  • @UserNamei5 Cheaper in relative terms. Those top fuel engines are NOT cheap, in any way or form, to the average Joe.

However, when it comes to racing prestige, drag is on the bottom of the barrel.

  • SPEAK UP SONNY!

  • F1 is the equivalent to modern day jet fighters for the ground. they are the pinnacle of racing performance for tarmac tracks. there is nothing better for all around performance. drag cars on the other hand have nowhere near the r&d time in their engines as f1 does. drag engines are meant to be duplicated easily and consistantly to ensure that if one engine blows (which they always do) that another one can be put in at a moments notice. they also tear down the whole engine after every race.

  • dead on, drag engine are made from solid alumiun machined in a cnc machine.

just to handle 400m or about 7 seconds.

    a simple pushrod

  • They probably use pressure casting nowadays.

  • I'd hate to be wearing headphones and watching a quiet video before clicking on this one haha

  • THIS ANNOUNCER HAS TO SPEAK UP, I CAN'T HEAR HIM

  • @hackm0d WHAAT?

    SPEAK UP MAN!!

  • @hackm0d LOL. You'll have to speak up, I can't hear anything because this anchor is talking so loud.

  • @hackm0d Damn you, I had my volume turned up in anticipation to compensate. Haha

  • TTTOOOOOOO LLLOOOUUUDDD !!!!!!

  • Sound quality good be allot! better.

  • i think that you've just raped my ears..

  • Damn. Its no wonder they rev so tight, look at those tiny rods and crank throws. I’ll bet my lawnmower has longer rods.

  • Fuck. I had my ear phones in. I'm actually deaf now.

  • @ausingtv lol, im watching this early in the morning, just turned my speakers on a little and got blasted away.. I probably woke the neighbours up :-p

  • GOD DAM

teh volume in this video is loud as SHIT. Here I am sitting in front of my PC at 1 in the morning with the sound turned down and I get blasted by

"THE FORMULA ONE 3 LITER ENGINE"

    FUCK

  • @zx6rtt

    ROFL!

  • Ppl the thing is that formula one is a drivers sport more that anything and to keep it that way the FIA keep regulations verryy stict enginges canot have turbos superchargers VVT NOX pre coolers nothing its just a barebone 2.4 liter V10 engine revs are limited to 18,000 revs ect ect just to keep racing close

  • i muted it and the guy was still talking it was so loud!!!!!!!!!

  • ffs, learn not to rev the volume up so high, seriously you will mess someone ears up one day

  • they don't make a DYNO big enouph to even meshure the horse power frome a nitro big block

  • @sirlonghair Yes they do. Besides what the use in having thousands of HP, if the chassis you put it in just twists to hell?

  • @threezerol944t you build a car around an engine like that you use a Tq. cage ie.roll cage

  • nascar nascar nascar nascar nascar

  • @jayguy173 I hate nascar even more they trashed it you used to be able to buy your nascar frome the local car dealer weld a roll cage in and race witch ment the car co. built fast cars that you could own now all the cars are the same except engines thos are almost the same I thought that was why they invented video games so boys could play leave the racing to inventive men, restrictor plates what a load of crap

  • Whos stupid enough to compare the F1 motor to a OLD chevy small block?? Always a redneck in the crowd. The SBC is a good racing engine but its all bout technology now days. If NASCAR wasnt favoring GM!!!! Ford and Dodge would be able to run there engines not a cookie cutter engine gm designed!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I wanna see your precious bad ass chevy small block turn 18,000 plus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @JardineRT1 Yeah, really! Pushrod garbage.

  • @threezerol944t fastest and quickest cars in the world use push rods

  • @sirlonghair What SSC? Yeah its fast, forget about refinement, and ride quality. As said before, you get what you pay for. Cant high rev a pushrod engine. LOL Dude, the engine was intended, and designed for trucks. Chevy just cheaps out. Its cheaper to rehash parts, than pay for new tooling, and hours to engineers to design it.

  • @threezerol944t the SSC is not just fast it's the fastest just after the 1988 callaway sledgehammer 20 years ago it did 254.7MPH.hell even F1 don't go that fast and you don't need to rev a chevy they have Tq. Hp. is meaningless without Tq.I have an astro van with 176,000miles runs just as good as my buddys with 40,000 miles it never has left me on the side of the road and will do 13.5 quarter mile THATS A VAN with a V6 4.3 AWD with a 3 inch pipe all the way to the bumper

  • @sirlonghair OK. And? No one is sayin chevy engines dont have their uses. Good for trucks. My p38 range rover is a Buick Al v8. Do you understand what a powerband is? Different configurations of engines put out different powerbands. Its all about the application of the engine, and how you utilize the powerband. Gearing is a huge factor too. Lots of power doesnt mean usable power. Their is much more to a performance car than the engine.

  • eh, the new bugatti SS is the current fastest production car.

a arrow engineer once said, if it wasn't for rules a F1 car would be doing more than 500km/h.

A Honda Formula One car, running with minimum downforce on a runway in the Mojave desert achieved a top speed of 415 km/h (258 mph).

  • The top speed ever acheived by a formula one car during a race was 369.9 km/h (229.8 mph) set during the 2004 Italian Grand Prix at Monza, Italy by driver Antônio Pizzonia of the BMW Williams F1 team driving the FW26 powered by a BMW 3.0 litre v10.

  • @JardineRT1 I want to0 see your 18,000 plus RPM engine idol for 5 minuts without reving the engine then I want to see it make 1000 ft. LBS. Tq.

  • @sirlonghair I got a bike that will turn 15,000 and idle all day long, gm engines have NO technology in them at all!!!!!The reason people run them is cause there CHEAP, remember you get what you pay for!!! I had a neighbor who was a chevyneck and hated a anything else, he drove an old 78 Chev truck, it did run and he bragged about that POS,BUT it would breakdown on us all the time and he had to care spare parts and distrubutors all the time. That thing burned vales and leaked oil after rebuild!!

  • @JardineRT1 LOL who rtebuilt it some hack

  • @sirlonghair A Chevyneck,lolol, there a dime a dozen!!!!!!!

  • @JardineRT1 so are trolls Jardine

  • @sirlonghair get u a chevy 350 put it in a F1 car and go compete with them!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @JardineRT1 what is the top speed of an F1 read below 254.7MPH 20 years ago Callaway hammer

  • @sirlonghair Who cares about top speed? F1 isnt an oval track doing left turns all day. Its much more technical. Handling, and actually driving comes into to play more than who can top end who. The straights arent usually long enough to reach top end any way. 254.7MPH? Your tires wont last long.

  • @threezerol944t they drove it to and frome the track on the same tires running 5 or 6 times running airconditioning your thinking of the Veryon it's so heavy the tires last only 15 min at top speed the hammer was one half the weight and 2WD and easly got over 20 MPG nice stereo also the hammer was the shit and still is amazing

  • The sad thing about these is they don't last long....I wish we had a Formula One team.

  • 18k rpm, ridiculous for an engine that size.

  • That's the sound Optimus Prime makes during an orgasm

  • I'm sure mclaren mercedes engines are built in the UK now.

  • it puzzles me how do they get such high rpms. is it cause of short stroke? what kindof rod/main bearings do they have.

  • @kriegdouch The engine is extremely oversquare. Short stroke large bore. Piston inertia goes up exponentially with large stroke and rod ratio's. Seeing as the stroke is low inertia is low and seeing how the bore is large relative to the size of the engine airflow is uninterrupted by large changes in flow direction. Other than that Ive looked for f1 engine tech articles to no success. Im guessin alot is still protected.

  • besides to what Wonderbread1023 says.

they don't use valve springs, pneumatic valve --> a chamber filled with nitrogen gas keeps the valve up.

  • I miss the old F1 wen cars showed up with turbines and 6 tires rules have killed racing even nascar was cool because they used cars right off the assembly line you could drive home in the same car you just watched race or sell it and buy the brand that won because it was a better car F1 used to be unlimited now that's entertainment not this current pussy smooching rule crap

  • wear else can you buy an ls3 with 2500Hp 2000Tq. completely street able for under 60 grand certainly not from Ferrari or Lamborghini

  • @sirlonghair Dude I love Nelson. But these new F1 engines are 3.0 liter v8 naturally aspirated engines making a claimed 750 horsepower. There is no comparison. Nelson makes large stroke twin turbo setups in which your 2500 hp figures are using his dual fuel technology which on high boost requires race octane fuel, which is hardly streetable. Nelson has his place but not among F1.

  • @Wonderbread1023 hardly street able? his Mosler 1800Hp he drives it to lasvagas for SEMA @100 MPH getting 19 MPG that's not street able?F1 engines suck they have no use in the real world the push rod Cheavy V8 is the best engine in the world old wisdom taken to it's highest evolution no other engine has the parts list the horse power or torque( that's the stuff F1 engines lack) 2500HP 2000tq Chevy small block dream the send away in the mail for yours @ 52,000 dollars not a dream

  • @sirlonghair F1 engines are madely solely for racing, to be put to the test at the Monza straight, not to be driven down streets. They're made for the racing world, which is the only world for racing fans. An engine that can race or be typically driven down the road is not a real racing engine.

  • @creatyve My point is there is no racing composition any more it's drivers used to be you could show up with anything in F1 and if it was still that way the Ls would domanate

  • @sirlonghair racing is not just about power, weight is also a major factor.. an f1 engine weigh just around 100+kg (minimum 95kg) and it is very strong and rigid to overcome the massive g force during cornering to prevent bend/distort.. f1 engine is not used in road car but lots of new technology on road cars came from the engine/f1 car.. most push rod engine are quite heavy and rarely used in racing (purpose built car racing) but it is mainly used in drag racing..

  • @theundeadx if push rod engines are so heavy why is an Ls3 lighter than a datsun v6 push rod engines are light and powerful they have torque and horsepower unlike anything else an F1 engine wouldn't stand a chance against a tube framed mid engine small block F1 has rules Chevy small blocks don't

  • @sirlonghair i dont understand why you would compare it to a datsun.. im sure there is something undesirable for push rod engine otherwise racing around the world would use it instead of high revving dohc.. f1 has rules because if there isnt f1 car would easily reach 1000-2000 hp which is very dangerous and number 1 priority in f1 is safety.. reliability and performance comes after that.. im not saying push rod engine is not powerful, top fuel dragster use it but not desirable in 'racing'.

  • @sirlonghair No it wouldn't... the LS is 5.7Litres isn't it? The capacity regulations of F1 have NEVER exceeded 4Litres... besides the Cosworth DFV V8 was 3Litres & produced over 500bhp in it's last years. Could the LS produce the same? Also, when was this "time that drivers could turn up with anything"???

  • @Suprahampton I remember an F1 car racing and it had a GAS TURBINE and the ELF had 6 wheals 4 littel tires up front an LS3 can make 700+Hp. without boost with boost NRE crate engine makes 2500Hp. and 2000Ft. Lbs. Tq. can an F1 engine do that

  • @sirlonghair Whats the Tyrell 6wheeler got to do with BHP & engine claims etc... thats wheels not engines! to make 700+bhp the LS3 has to be high capacity, if im right one of the vette engines is 7litres... well if F1 engines used the same capacity im sure the bhp output would be far higher... u have to compare like for like

  • @Suprahampton nothing but the gas turbine is what?

  • @sirlonghair an engine not used in F1

  • NRE is not a CRATE engine, but a solid aluminium billet engine.

the ls3 engine can do that, but @ what fuel cost?

  • dude, a F1 car does 0-200km/h and back to 0 (stop) in less than 6 seconds.

in the past there where 1.5 liter engine that made over 1500hp

  • beautiful

  • The freakin exhaust is makeing thrust!!!

  • I almost came :I

  • billet al. is lighter and stronger you can mill it thinner and still is stronger then you mill the heads from the same block and they expand at the same rate under heat

  • all I have to say is CASTING what crap the best blocks today are maid frome a solid bittet block and milled on a C&C tom nelson has billet smalblock chevys pulling 9500 rpm street engine theas engines are built within certin spec tom's engines have no rules but one More time CASTING sucks billet milling is the shit
