That is part of the reason to put the dogs somewhere where they cant get at everything (a cage, room free of stuff to chew, ect). Not only that, but you need to seperate the mother from the pups every now and then to give the mother a rest (they can get stressed out). Another reason for the page. As much as i like my dog exploring my back yard, The reason they are caged is to protect them.
