The police have been known for police brutality based back in the 70s when the students were protesting Vietnam and when civil rights movements back during segregation. I don't agree with the people protesting wall street or the occupy movement because they are targeting the wrong people. They should be occupying our government institutions. This said, they have the right to protest and I swore an oath when I joined the military to protect those rights regardless if I like it or not. I still hold myself to that oath and I will stand with that marine or any others that stand with the people to protect their rights guaranteed to them under the Constitution.

I joined the Army so I can train under special forces and become a Green Beret (best hand-to-hand combat training in the entire military). I think joining the military should be a requirement to be a cop. Join the Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, or Coast Guard. National Guard doesn't count (don't bullshit and say they do, they're state-hired, not federal-hired like REAL soldiers!)

To me he is standing up to injustice. The police don't have to take it to that level to protesters. The 1st Amendment clearly states the freedom of speech. You have the same right in your comment as the protesters and that soldier over there.

But there is even less honor in war than in a Wall steet occupation and if these cops are out of order in how they handle the situation they will be held accountable by their superiors. @NightmareBill Well, soldiers sign up for different reasons and they often have to do things they are not proud of or indifferent. The police have been known for police brutality based back in the 70s when the students were protesting Vietnam and when civil rights movements back during segregation. Different scenery, the fact that citizens voicing out on their opinion in the U.S. (no war). In Iraq, it is already a war zone implanted in the country.

I don't agree with the people protesting wall street or the occupy movement because they are targeting the wrong people. They should be occupying our government institutions. This said, they have the right to protest and I swore an oath when I joined the military to protect those rights regardless if I like it or not. I joined the Army so I can train under special forces and become a Green Beret (best hand-to-hand combat training in the entire military). I think joining the military should be a requirement to be a cop. Join the Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, or Coast Guard. National Guard doesn't count (don't bullshit and say they do, they're state-hired, not federal-hired like REAL soldiers!)

i will say that the cops were rather composed considereing how riled up this man was. and they told people to keep moving because huge ass crowds present a safety risk. it only takes one man throwing a punch, or a bottle to start a complete riot. people dont always act rationally in huge groups, so i can honestly say, better safe than sorry. if he had a legitimate complaint, then more power to him! but i would still like to see the video, and hear the police mans side of the story before i judge
