Not once but TWICE in the clip the word "object" is put in place of the word "somebody" so I don't think this was merely coincidental. It's clearly an attempt to make the driver appear totally callous and contemptible. Another thing, the driver refers to HE and not SHE, and that indicates he didn't clearly see the person he hit. From the style of the translation, it was clearly done by an Arab, and clearly meant to be propagandistic rather than factual.

The only possible explanation for translating it as "object" is to make the driver seem callous as "Jgarbuz" states. And, yes, he said "mishehu" not "mishehi", which means "someone male" in Hebrew. The audio clip is from after the fact when he did the responsible thing, reported the accident. A deliberate murderer does not stop and report.

The video is doctored. In the translation it says "object" but in Hebrew he reports "I think I hit SOMEONE." He did not say "object." This is obvious (to Hebrew speakers anyway)

MISTRANSLATION indicates that the whole thing was put together for its obvious effect. As for the driver acting jovial, we don't know what time that picture was taken. He might have laughed to a joke earlier in the day. The whole think is a cut and splice job.

The driver saw her from the distance while he approached, and then again when she climbed the mound and looked into his eyes, AND other soldiers were there observing in an APC, filming what was taking place. Look at the video; it's a side view of Rachel on the mound about to be hit. Soldiers were watching this video live, everyone knew what was going on, they wanted to teach ISM a lesson for being a pain all day.

I've seen the unedited video. Her family has asked that it not be shown, as it is very graphic. The home they were demolishing belonged to a doctor, an endangered species in the Palestinian territories. His mother and children lived there and so did Rachel, briefly.
