@shooterboy07 check out the vestax typhoon. Its pretty cheap and you can definitely learn the basics of mixing. Thanks for watchin! sub n check out the other vids.
more practice, your transitions are clearly not smooth.. but then again this video is almost a year old so you might have gotten better since this video was taken.. props for your effort though..
@EJ8civic yeah I agree with you, It does sound a bit rough. its been a while since this vid. Ive been djing throughout europe for the past year. Thanks for watchin.
@PianoMan799 the vci 300 is a midi controller that comes standard with serato "itch" software. But you can use other softwares, you just have to map it out with the vci 300. thanks for watchin man!
yea i use serato on my mk3s but i dont like how i cant use my hot cues or built in loop sampler. kind of pointless to have cdj mk3s if i cant use those features. i just sold my system today which was 2 cdj mk3s and a djm-400 so i can get the vci. but before i get it can you hook up powered speakers to the vci?
@805DJLV yeah, the vci has 1/4 inch outputs. So you can hook it up directly to powered active speakers or an amp. In the long run, the VCI is considerably cheaper and more effective than cdjs. Let me know how it goes.
nice mix man. do you prefer the vci over pioneer cdj decks. i have a pair of the cdj-1000s and ive been looking at the vci for a while. im thinking about selling my system to get the vci but dont know for sure cause just my mixer is more expensive then the vci so am i down grading? what do you think
@805DJLV it depends how you dj- do you use cds or use serato with the cdjs? Most clubs will have cdjs and if youre used to spinning at clubs, you dont really have to get the vci.
However, with the vci, it is wayy more technologically advanced. I just bring my vci to clubs and rehook everything up. it takes about 5-15 mins depending their setup. the vci comes with a phenomenal built-in mixer as well as sound card. plus u got all your cues/loops saved. all you need is the vci and a mac.
@805DJLV really depends on your preference, try to play with a VCI and see how you like it because every dj is different, one dj might prefer a bigger platter another dj might prefer smaller more compact gear, i suggest trying a vci and getting familliar with it, me personally prefers to use my techs over cdjs and controllers such as VCI, another gear you might want to try on is the numark NS7 alot more similar to CDJ1000 plus itch..
@29KFRESHJIVER i dont know if I can do this anymore but, I dont bother sending it in. So I just go to guitarcenter, buy a new one, switch it with the defective one, then return it saying its defective. Since its such a common problem and ALL retailers are aware of the problem, they gladly refund my money. They get to deal with the problem, not me. Just be aware, cause its only a 14 day return policy.
Hey, im new to djin and im saving up to buy the vestax vci-300 but im like so so on buying it i feel it will be too small but hows it goin for you does everything work for you good? and is that the only djin equipment u use to dj at a party or club?
@29KFRESHJIVER the vci300 is a phenomenal djing tool and you will learn to dj very quickly using it. But I do recommend all beginners starting with vinyl however it is costly and time consuming (though its good to know the basics).
Yeah this is all I use for clubs and private events. Its portable, light, and convenient . Only problem is, I have used 4 different vci300s since the first day it came out. ALL of them had a defective right platter after a while of usage.
sorry mate dont wanna be rude or hatin, but some parts are rly...dunno who to say it....ur jumps frm track to track sometimes aint the best...specially the one mixing up let me think abt it and i got a feeling....it just sounds totaly weird and not good at all and these random scratches in between....i dont know but maybe just not my style of djin...i just know that this wont work out at any club across europe...even the trashy big ones where got somethin like 2000 ppl in...
@rejiko its all good man, I agree this wasnt one of my better mixes. However I did this mix while living in San Francisco last year. Its a bit catered to the American preference. Ive been DJing in England for the past year n I know theres a huge variation of style in the preference of music. OH... I also think its funny how you favorite'd my video and left it as the main video on your homepage after that comment.
I'm having a trouble deciding between the Reloop DJ2 Controller Edition, Hercules DJ Control Steel, and yours... I'm new at DJing and the VCI-300 is so expensive and I can't justify its pricetag, can you? In the DK the pricetag is 1000 dollars and the others are at around 400 bucks :S
@loociousz hows it goin man, I honestly dont know too much about the 'reloop'... Hercules has always made decent hardware/software colabs with virtual dj, however it isint really seen as a professional tool in the dj world. If you are serious about djing, you should probably look into getting the vci. Ive used almost everything from vinyl to cdjs to digital and I must say, this is one of the best djing tools/midi controllers I have used. Goodluck, let me know how it goes.
@polromeu there are a lot of factors in deciding. It depends on; level of experience, what type of music you want to be djing, djing at clubs or mobile or just at home etc.
Nah man... At the start I was hoping for WoW.... then S P L A T !!!! You should never have 2 vocals playing at once, espicially if they are out of key !!!! 1min 50s onwards is BAD. NEVER have 2 vocals ever at the same time !!!! You need to get to know ur trks inside out. It is just a noise. But fair play for having a go. More practice needed ;-)
Hey Bro Nice Work! I don't know if you were looking at the screen the whole time or not but you got the essential. Though, you need more practice and try to make your mixes cleaner next time.
its just a random mashup that someone put together (I have no idea who) but its called "Love at Low Sight". Yeah I totally agree with you on the vocal overlay. Ill work on it. lol Thanks for the comment.
Cool. This is actually my third vci- the first 2 were defective with the right job platter. The second u find something wrong with yours- RETURN IT!! lol. But if you got a good one, then its a great piece of equipment. Only thing I wish it had were effects.
