  • Guy Montag!

  • Stunning song. From my iron lung ep.

  • I love that little riff at 1:32

  • Ok guys!! I am searching for a song by Radiohead.... its one of their older works and it doesnt have any lyrics.... it has like a sitar kinda sound... another dude told me it could be india rubber but it isnt... so if u guys have a guess just let me know... cuz Im not loosing sleep but kinda is like my daily mission.... thanks in advance...

I have posted this same comment in one other song.... thanks again

  • i think its called "walking down the isle " or somthing

  • @DatGUEnvy The only old-ish Radiohead instrumental I can think of is Meeting in the Aisle, as roithekike suggested. It's off the Airbag / How Am I Driving EP, so it was probably recorded around OK Computer time. Hope that helps.

  • this kind of sounds like a jeff buckely song haha

  • amazing sound.

  • Should have checked my spelling before I posted... LOL

    l

  • This Song is so great...Radiohead has the best rare songs and B;Sides is downright ridiculous. Been Listening to it rvry dat since I discovered it. LOVE IT!!!

  • Definitely a good song but I don't think it has a place on OK Computer.

  • Isn't it a great song? despite its simplicity, we should notice it was on their debut years , we still listen and appreciate everything in this magical peace of music

    thanx RH

  • I'm totally addicted to this song. Listening to it night and day for the past 3 days..

  • Magical

  • beautiful song

  • ps and as Thom has just illustrated ... autotune can eat a dick.

  • Thom sang this while laying drunk on the floor in the studio.

  • @GnossosSlothrop Did he? I thought that was Planet Telex.

  • I'm lovesick and I'm singing along... Now to throw my head at a wall.

  • @sabotagedarkness Yes, both are great. And its the opposite with me, I've listened more to Muse. I just never wanna feel like I have to decided between the two. We can listen to both bands. So, yes, peace :D

  • @sabotagedarkness I get what you're saying and I agree on that Muse is more orchestral. I can't decide on either/or because I view them differently.

  • @sabotagedarkness I get what you're saying and I agree on that Muse is more orchestral. I can't decide on either or because I view them differently.

  • wow

  • The lead guitar is very George Harrison-"Something"-esque

  • I don't see the comparisons between Radiohead and Muse. I'm a huge fan of both bands and I just don't see it. I think they have two completely different sounds. But to each their own, right?

  • This.....This.

  • it's on a b-side because they said it was way too hard to play and that the bass is absolutely unforgiving

  • doesn't everyone want to be loved like this?

  • Very Bowie-esque.

  • THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE SONGS. WHY IT WAS A B-SIDE IS BEYOND ME.

  • God I love Radiohead !!!!

  • God loves Radiohead, too!

  • is there even a bad radiohead song?

all their albums are brilliant and the songs that dont make it (talk show host, true love waits) are miles ahead of the mediocre output from other bands.

  • if i had to list my top ten favorite radiohead songs this would be in my top ten. its so beautiful and emotional and amazing. too bad very few people have heard it before, i wish they would have put it on the bends album.

  • Oh for the love of god, stop comparing Coldplay with Radiohead. They're 2 completely different bands, theres no point in compairing them. I happen to love both, just for different reasons.

  • @Spinoraptorrex I agree they sound different. If anyone had to compare to radiohead it would be Muse. They have some songs that sound just like radiohead but others are are completely different. Do you remember Stairsalior from the 90's. They are very similar as well.

  • esta banda simplemente me ENCANTA!!, es la mezcla perfecta, si uno deseara escuchar algo melodico, pues esta banda sobrepasa esto.

cada vez que escucho una de sus canciones siento danzar en mi mente sus notas

    ohh!! is gr8!!!

  • is stupid to put that poor band even in the same scentence where radiohead is, i mean Thom and co. are one of the best, these days no matter wich song they record, it's gonna sound great live, that makes them real

  • freakin' awesome b-side. i dont wanna be a spammer, but you can download it at guvera and radiohead still gets paid by their advertisers, its win win. i like to see a good artist get the money they deserve, you know

  • very intense.

  • This song is wonderful. I love the note he hits when he says spell

  • @SuperOshay ya i love that note :D gives me a strange feeling :S

  • @SuperOshay heyyyyyyyyyyy you know i came on youtube just to comment thumbs up if u like the solo at "spell" and its really nice to know most of the people likes that

  • Coldplay steals from many other bands (even Radiohead as the singer tries to sound like Thom) while Radiohead, like a real band, takes their influences and molds them into something that represents themselves to show deep meaning.

  • if you have heard radioheads enitre catalogue, you would know it is impossible to draw a comparison between them and any other group.

  • of course all the "coldplay is better" comments will get all the thumbs down on a RADIOHEAD video.

The fact is, they appeal to different people, I love both, I knew Radiohead first and longer.

Radiohead IS more original, but Coldplay WAS really good as well.

They appeal to different audiences. Radiohead is unique, ambient and almost euphoric when Coldplay is huge on the emotional aspects (especially love).

People take different things out these bands but they are different genres.

  • Just because they appeal to different people doesn't mean they are equally valuable to music. Radiohead is far better and those that enjoy Radiohead more have better taste in music.

Taste meaning the things they value in music are better, more intelligent values to hold.

  • @ThomYorkesHead

I wouldn't say they pale in comparison, if Coldplay's message comes through some simple structure true, but the fact they can hit my G-Spot for emotion in music I was surprised. There are a handful of talented bands such as Radiohead but there are very few bands that hit the soul like Coldplay.

  • @Cameraniac

i'd say Radiohead stirs the soul on a much deeper level than Coldplay could ever hope to achieve. sure, love songs are Coldplay's forte, and Thom Yorke doesn't write that many love songs, but when he does, he taps into the territory that Chris simply doesn't dare to touch. and anyway, a song doesn't have to be a love song to hit the soul emotionally.

plus, Radiohead is much more interesting musically, there's just no contest.

  • @lDeleteMyself

Well than we can just agree to disagree,

thus making it a matter of opinion,

PS I love Radiohead as well...

  • I agree with you, lyrically and thematically Coldplay is a very different band to Radiohead.

Coldplay is a bit more on the emotional romantic side. Parachutes and a few Coldplay B-sides were a soundtrack to some of the saddest moments of my life, and I'm very grateful for that.

  • However, I completely agree with those people who say that Coldplay simply pales in comparison to Radiohead, in every way, shape and form. But still, I cannot bring myself to hate a band capable of writing something as touching as Easy to Please and I Bloom Blaum. I'm such a softy, I know.

  • This song is beatifully composed... I love it!

  • When I get a green house my plants will grow to radion head.....Everything from KIDA onward.

  • I tottally feel the Beatles/Lennon influence in this song

  • i think this song sounds like something from pink floyd.

  • BEAUTIFUL.

  • radiohead thanks.................

  • Best b-side ive ever heard...

  • My all time favorite song...

  • My bro Corey looks EXACTLY like Kurt Kobain, prolly got just as many guitars as he did too lol.

  • me too im gay

  • Lets end this line of reasoning right here. To compare Coldplay to Radiohead is ridiculous. If you know anything about music besides listening to it then you know this to be true. Just one member of Radiohead has more talent than the entire band Coldplay. Go comment on a Colplay vid page if your love for them is so strong, please...

  • Dont ever compare coldplay to radiohead! Radiohead blows them out of the water! The perfect mesh of musical talent

  • i love coldplay but radiohead is the greatest band of all time

  • coldplay WAS good

  • I don't think this song would have fitted Ok Computer, it doesnt match the theme of the album, and i guess they though it sounded too close to My Iron Lung and Bulletproof. A great song nonetheless. Could have made the Bends, easily.

  • Coldplay is manufactured candy.

    This is acquired taste.

There is a difference between fruity alcoholic drinks and aged scoth.

Aged scotch- the acquired taste is not for the masses just like this

  • Agreed. but I really miss the old Radiohead :S The only band I love like radiohead actually, is one hiting strong in some Italians radiostations not being a million dollar production has a very interesting stuff. Search SWAVE IN THE FUTURE and u will understand what I mean ;)

  • aye..agree..nice parable hahaha

  • Coldplay must be trampled by all the birds of the air and the filthy beasts of the land.

  • I transferred the lyrics to this song onto microfiche.

  • This song and Coldplay's 'Such a Rush' are almost the exact same song. Radiohead could seriously sue them.

  • RADIOOOHEAD!!!!!

  • this song is fucking amazing

  • I love the part at 1:30... just takes me somewhere else

  • I agree, that little lick with the involved chord changes is the highlight of the song - magical.

  • my iron lung

  • its not that thom cant make up his mind on what kind of music to make, he knows exactly what hes doing experementing.

  • Yes...hmm. because we all want our favorite bands to stay where we love them the most. In this case, "HEY, RADIOHEAD, I'D REALLY REALLY LIKE IT IF YOU MADE THE SAME KIND OF RECORDS FOR 18 YEARS..." But, honestly, Thom was like 23 when he wrote this song. Now he's 40. I, IN MY OPINION, think he should be given a little leeway in the matter of choosing what he wants to write. Oh, and their latest album makes enough sense, musically and lyrically, for them to get a Grammy from it.

  • Yes. Proof they used to be good. Real good. Unfortunately their latest stuff make no sense, musically or lyricaly.

    In my opinion.

  • I disagree, their new stuff does make sense :3

  • For me it's the exact opposite, their newest song seems to make SO much sense to me...but then again i'm crazy ; )

  • Listen to the guitar parts on in rainbows and tell me it's not their best guitar album. Crushes the bends in intricacy, primacy and intensity.

  • meh. i liked the bends because... well.... that was when radiohead still had SOME rock inside there songs..

  • Radiohead evolved...with time. they wouldnt be the great musical act that they are if they had decided to make every single album sound like The Bends / OK Computer. (Oasis pretty much did that) They're great because they are willing to experiment with new elements and genres...for me, there really isnt a "best" Radiohead album.

  • When asked in 2001 by MTV, "How do you guys feel about the fact that bands like Travis, Coldplay, and Muse are making a career sounding exactly like your records did in 1997?", Yorke replied: "Good luck with Kid A."

  • @anyonecanplayguitar Paraphrasing, just a bit? Anyway, really hear some Queen influence...nice.

  • @anyonecanplayguitar

but they don't sound exactly like them?

they're all very nice and related . . . and Placebo, too

  • lol calm down

  • bullshit, not quite the exact

  • lol calm down with all the copying thing

  • Comment removed

  • Coldplay is the best band ever???

    Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah.

  • Could you do me a favour, good chap? Could you shit down my throat just once. I promise to drink every last drop. I swear of it.

  • sry wasn t for u

  • I love this song.

    Simply amazing.

  • love this song. put on the new LP definitely!!! love those b sides!

  • how i made my millions is the greatest b-side ;)

  • They should have used this song on "The Bends" instead of High and Dry.

High and Dry isn't a bad song, but I think it's crap compared to what the rest of the album delivered.

Using this song instead would have been far more fitting in my opinion.

  • Ty hugo

  • How couldn't i heard this beafore?!

    This's awesome.

Can i get this from somewhere?

  • Its on Radiohead's EP album MY IRON LUNG, or simply download it.

  • its on a reasonably rare EP!

  • been looking for this!

  • Talk Show Host, The Trickester, Bishop's Robes, this one, etc. etc. Fuck man. I'm pretty sure that the B-Sides from the Bends, are better than most of the actual tracks.

I got the Iron Lung single on vinyl today, from the Capitol Vault collection and it's kinda epic :P

@EMI: If you still want to cash in on Radiohead, instead of remastering their albums, release a fucking B-Sides collection.

  • Always loved this song. No worry about technicalities here, it literally was a b-side from My Iron Lung.

  • this is my favorite radiohead b-side ever. i dont understand why it wasnt on the bends. it's definitely better than something like bones or black star, i think

  • OK, there's absolutely no way this is aout "Fahrenheit 451"... but, a beautiful/eerie/grating/wonderful song from Radiohead, absolutely.

of course, their lyrics are always so ambiguous and strange, I sometimes wonder if there's any concrete meaning in them at all. it's intensely emotional music, but only in the vague expansive feel of the songs.

  • You can never be sure. Thom Yorke is a very literate writer. Many radiohead songs have very strong connections to orwell's 1984 which is another dystopian novel (see 2+2=5). Even if rh didn't write this about fahrenheit 451 the image of montag couldve come through subconsciously. And besides, art has a life of its own independent of the artist. If anything it's more appreciating its subjective relation to 451 than an objective.

  • i love this song. and wow, it really fits to fahrenheit 451, it gave me the creeps when i read the description... i bought the ep about 2 years ago but i just discovered how great it is.

  • great song i didnt liked too much the movie

  • alot = town in india

a lot = very many, a large number

  • anyone know where i can find the mp3 version of this song?

  • mm..iTunes???

  • emi are rereleasing nearly everything radiohead have ever breathed on (without the bands consent) so you're in luck. there are quite a few really great bsides/non album tracks this band has done in its career - talk show host, true love waits, down is the new up to name the big ones

  • I agree. One of the best "unknown" Radiohead songs.

  • i could die slowly just listening

  • I just finished reading Fahrenheit 451. That's a very good analyzation of this song.

  • That drunken guitar riff from 0:33 to 0:49 is so interesting and awesome to listen to. This obscure gem is in my top 5 Radiohead songs.

  • so i guess ugly girls are lower than dogshit :/

  • "beautiful" doesn't necessarily refer to aesthetics. beautiful as in "her presence is beautiful in my life"

  • "a beautiful girl can turn you into dust"

    brilliant.

    period.

  • Very Bendsish

  • Why was this a B-side it's one of their most haunting songs in my opinion! Same with Killer cars, why a B-side?

  • it wasnt a b-side..it was just on an Ep not an album!!

  • i believe that's the definition of a b-side. it was the 4th song on the iron lung ep

  • No mate...a B-side comes with a single...every single released has a B-side...an EP is simply a collection of music which is not long enough to qualify it for a full LP (full album)

  • All of Radiohead's EPs so far (except My Iron Lung I think) have been B-side collections.

  • but by defenition thats not what an EP is...and this is from my iron lung anyway!!

  • No, not by definition... but most Radiohead EPs have simply been B-side collections, so the mistake is understandable.

  • does it matter

    stilla great song

and My Iron Lung is now classed as a "Backstreet Album"

as it was recorded because they cut them songs out of the bends

  • i think "non album track" would be more correct, whether you are talking about songs from singles, eps or unreleased live albums. bsides are hangovers from vinyl days. back in the day, the single track was the A side, and there were often a few extra tracks on the B side.

  • Beautiful, awesome, incredible, touching, original. Radiohead = genius. I can not think of any band in this world as magical as they are. They are the best, undoubtely. And they probably are not from this world.

  • one of my favorite songs!

  • I agree with you! hope they play it here in Mexico... I'll wait for it.

  • I love this song, it's my all time favourite and it's the best Radiohead song for me. Whenever I listent o it it makes me cry... It's magic...

  • beautiful song. First heard it on My Iron Lung EP.

  • guys, it is unbelievably beautiful... :)

no reason to have a fight, it is magic...

  • zahropit ...your a cock

im a pretty big radiohead fan

i have loved them since i was six and have all their albums and b sides vinyls seen most of tours and am i very big fan

my mate hates them but loves this song...as he said its quite unique

grow up twat people appreciate stuff not because of the band because of the way it makes them feel. noones the same

i love radiohead because they keep producing brilliat songs not because they are radiohead

so you obnoxious bastard. shut the fuck up

  • I finally found that songs...damn,i've had it on cd since 5 years and now i've foudn the title...too bad it's a b-side...

  • LOVE this song. It's beautiful.

  • amo esa puta cancion es de misterio !!! de terror ! no se alucinante !

  • please no language discrimination

  • Dumme politisch-korrekt ami/brit Drecksau.

  • yeah this was one of the first radiohead songs i ever heard a long time back. still one of my favorites.

  • i agree with everyone, this song should of been on an album.

radiohead are coming out with a greatest hits cd, and i think this should be on it!

also, i agree with the comment that this song is under rated.

  • The best off of the Bends B-side...in my opinion.

  • I love how the guitar kind of weaps in this song...amazing

  • wonderful song of a supernatural band ...

  • check out my version with fl studio

  • one of their best...

  • Amazing, sad and sweet. One of their best songs EVER,i don't understand because they left it like a B-side.

  • osan....i love you.......

  • my absolutely favourite song of radiohead, and yes i agree with you, it should have been on an album, i'd say on ok computer, for the beauty and perfection, but on the bends it would have actually fitted better

  • this song is so underrated

  • Proof, yet again that Radiohead is GOD.

  • this is an amazing song

  • Thanks for posting this.

The cassette tape on which i had recorded this has long faded

    good still image too!
