  • Supercharged Alpina Roots blower = 240 HP

  • Very very nice movie scene and a real dream car with excellent sound!!

  • Immer wieder einsame Spitzenklasse!!!!!

  • I would love to see a Tatra 613 V8 (KGB)following the BMW..both unique V8.

    Tatra aircooled :) ;)

  • Hehe that scene at the end is subtle, tires smoking when leaving with fullthrottle.

    503 V8 sound is unique--that car is a hot machine--tuned or stock :)

  • That was called BOVENSIEPEN 503

"SUPER" Bovensiepen was the later founder of ALPINA BMW tuning

  • My father had an original Alpina engine of 503 giving 220 HP with 3 carbs hot cam and 10:1 compression I can tell you that was a HOT machine!! Sadly he sold that for bucks in the 70s :(

  • What kind of supercharger is that?

I have never heard of an ALPINA tuning device except of a special manifold with 3 instead of 2 Solex 2bbl carbs and sports cams ...a supercharged 503 must be an american or british roots blower solution

  • Thats a sound !!

    Todays cars have no soul!

  • Thanks for posting this excellent scene from a forgotten 1971 George C. Scott classic! He did some of his own driving in this movie. I read that he was so impressed with the car, that when filming wrapped up, he bought his own 503. Note while watching this clip how much the car oversteers. I believe that's due to what seems to be a swing axle rear suspension. Cars with that type of rear suspension can be tricky to drive fast.
