  • zaranyzerak you are a ledgend thank you for the real ghostbuters dvd boxse

  • Lorenzo Music was also the voice of one of the gummi bears. Also, Dave Coulyie (I know that's misspelled but who cares) sucks.

  • Some cool info in there, thanks. What the hell is all that blood on your furniture?

  • @nicholasthetaylor It's actually a flower pattern. Just hard to see from a distance with my SD camera I guess.

  • @Zaranyzerak Heehee. Don't worry, I wasn't completely fooled, but it does look a lot like blood, should you ever choose to shoot a sitcom about a family of crazy serial killers. That furniture could come in handy.

  • @Zaranyzerak LOL i was looking at that like the whole video!!!

  • @Zaranyzerak

They have the completed real ghosbusters series on dvd the filminations ghostbusters cartoon on dvd the lived action 1970's ghostbusters series on dvd. But they don't have the have the full alete complete ghostbuster complete series on dvd in us. There something missing that they only have the first season and probably only season of on dvd only in austaila and not in the US. I woner what it could be?

  • Is this guy related to Glen beck?

  • so they came out with the whole set already on vhs? what year?

  • @TheShootTruth10 No, only a handful of episodes were released on VHS back in 1986-87.

  • Hi, first off I'd like to thank you for doing this review. It helped convince me to buy this compleat box set rather then buying the individual season box sets as they came out. My brother and I loved this show. My mom liked it too, she even taped it when they origonaly aired on tv. Sadly I only found 2 of our old vhs recordings and even those were begining to digrade. Now I have them all in digitaly restored glory.

  • bloodreaperz the extreme ghostbusters are available on dvd only in australia

  • i downloaded the soundtrack to the real ghostbusters.

  • As a fellow fan of all things Ghostbuster, what did you personally think of Extreme Ghostbusters released in the 1990's I believe. It was different but I thought it was a good continueation of the REAL Ghostbusters. Since there were tie in episodes I believe.

  • So Peter's voice was originally Garfield, and then Bill Murry did the Garfield movie. How ironic.

  • Nice Catch Dude!!

  • I just found out that Sony are going to release the Real Ghostbusters on DVD in the UK. Starting with the complete Season 1. It's due for release on 15th June.

  • yup same week as the video game(im getting it for ps3) and the blu ray of the first film,i dont think any week this year can top that haha

i also wonder if the tahiti music will be in our complete season 1 of rgb wen its out in june

  • It's hard to say, but since the set will be different from the American one, it's a possibility that they'll use different master tapes. Since the set is only two disks, It's very likely going to be the 13 ABC episodes. The sindicated episodes (of which a few of the Tahiti tracks were missing from) will probably be released in a following box set, if this first release sells well.

  • don't get me wrong I envy you man for having that set. I just wish it wasn't price that high. I really enjoy each video you have done, you going to do a blu ray update anytime soon. Think tomorrow I am going to get Case of Benerjman Button

  • Hey Zaranyzerak, you ever think of just getting Netflix instead of buying dvds?

  • But...then I would have nothing to display on my shelves! And I'd have to re-rent them whenever I wanted to watch them.

Some people like to rent, some people like to buy/collect. I've always been more of a buyer/collector than a renter.

  • Yes! I totally agree with you. Its just my parents get on my case about when I want to buy a DVD they say "just rent it". So I just wanted to get your thoughts :D

  • Z - Man all 4 parts of this were off the hook man! (Wow ok 90's flashback lingo way to go Raz geez lol!) Anyhow I loved the show back in day on TV but I actually always thought the movie actors did the voices so I learned something new yet again, so kudos to you oh great one haha!

  • So in short, the only difference are the MUSIC (not Lorenzo Music, maybe that's where you got mixed up...hehehe) in those episodes, not the voices. And I totally agree - Lorenzo was great in that episode especially! :)

  • @Zaranyzerak Hi my name is Amy Bates. I use to watch these on TV before. Well my mom told me that my sister Leah watch this all the time. Where can I buy these at.

  • You're kidding! Man. I don't understand why they couldn't locate original masters of all the Lorenzo Music eps, since they apparently were on TV fairly recently (they're on YouTube with Sony Television logos, so they've got to be from recent tapings).

It's a double shame about "Venkman's Ghost Repellers" not having Music, because I just happened to think his performance in that one was really good. Not to mention the novelty of hearing him double up as father and son.

  • They have all the Lorenzo Music audio. It's just those two episodes they couldn't find the Tahiti song version of the music for, only the series music version. And the other they have the Tahiti version in the set, but the alternate series music version is on the previous DVD release. But don't worry, all of Lorenzo Music's episodes are the version with him doing the voice of Peter, there are none of the Dave Coulier re-dubbed ones here - only the episodes that were just him to begin with.

  • Hell, I'll take those VHS versions off your hands. I still buy VHS and plus I've never been properly introduced to the show

  • hey theres still that other ghostbusters dvd from BCI.y'kno the live action show

  • Yep, it's on my filmation list! There was the live action show, then the cartoon that start the same year as Real Ghostbusters (which, needless to say, confused many a little kid at the time!)

  • hav u heard about the upcoming ghostbusters game? and will u buy it?

  • This is ME you're talking to. Of course I've heard about the game! I've been following it since the first teaser showed up. Can't wait to get my hands on it! :D

  • cool! and speaking of ghostbusters.a ghostbusters fan twitter followed me on my twitter! :DD hav u seen the new batman show?.batman the brave and the bold

  • I have a question about the Disney DVD's. Do you know anything about them? I was wondering why the Disney Treasures DVD's are no longer being manufactured. Or maybe you could direct me to a good Disney fan forum site? If not its all good man.

  • I'm not OVERLY familiar with Disney's reasoning, but I know they like to make things available for only a limited time, then "put 'em back in the vault," as it were, to be re-released later (or not at all). I suspect it may be because they're focussing more heavily on Blu-ray at the moment. Those were those sets in the tins, right? With the early cartoons, Mickey Mouse Club, WWII stuff, etc.? I'd love to get those. The local pawn shop has a bunch of them fairly cheap at the moment...

  • Lol, a bit, yes

  • When you do a review YOU DO A REVIEW !,awsome job ,after watching your video i went and searched for the tahiti ghostbusters music on you tube ,and they are there ,someone has uploaded the parts of the epidoses with the music playing !,so if anyone want to hear what tahiti sounds like check them out .

  • Hehehe! What can I say, I like to be thorough! ;) good news about the clips, so at least folks can check out the bits that are different without too much fuss!

  • I have both DVD releases of the best of the real ghostbusters and during the episode KNOCK KNOCK theres a scene where a ghost train emerges from the underground and a 80's song is played is that tahiti im not entirely sure

  • Yep, that's the one! In the alternate version it's just regular series music in that part, no song.

  • Excellent review as always!

  • These were great, Sean...thank you.

I remember the Tahiti music as well. It sucks that it is missing for Venkman's Ghost Repellers; that is one of the best episodes of the series in my mind.

  • Thanks petrus, glad you enjoyed them! I'm probably going to do one more short part, I thought of a few more things to add... And I agree about the Tahiti music - it really helped shape the "feel" of the show. Luckily, it looks like it was just those two episodes that were missing the Tahiti songs. Venkman's Ghost Repellers was indeed a great episode!

  • awsome ghostbusters are my favorite movies and realghostbusters are awsome i got the complete collection on christmas andim on vol 3 still

  • Nice! I'm really behind (mainly due to all the other stuff we got this month), JUST starting volume 2! :) But that's okay, I don't mind making 'em last a while!

  • HEY ZARANYZERAK, after buying all the He-Man and She-Ra sets, are you going to get all the best of releases and the Christmas special (I believe) that they have different extras then the boxsets?

  • Yep, I'm going to get everything they put out for all of them. Mainly because there's some additional extras that are only in the Best Of sets, and then of course the rest of the Art Cards!

  • Hopefully 'The Best of 'Real Ghostbusters DVD releases in the UK should have the original Thahiti music tracks included with 'Knock Knock' and 'Venkman's Ghost Repeller's'. Other then that it sounds like a great set, though it seems very poorily marketed for the International masses, ah well, hopefully other Time Life subsiduaries should be able to help.

  • Sorry I cut myself off. I was meant to say, hopefully other Time Life subsiduaries will release the complete set in other countries. Though fingers crossed everything an RGB fan would want will also feature on the individual volumes, but yes it's early days so anything can happen.

  • Yeah, it's hard to say. Obviously there's a TON of fans overseas, even just going by the comments I've been getting on these reviews form my U.K. viewers. If there's a buck to be made, I'm sure they'll make it happen! :)

  • If anything a few Time Life executives should watch your videos and read these comments from overseas fans, that should get the ball rolling.

  • what do you think of the Extreme Ghostbusters

  • I actually REALLY enjoyed that show (I've got 'em all on tape!), and thought it was a clever way to bring the franchise back. People tend to complain that it wasn't the original team, completely ignoring the fact that it was VERY well written and the tone was bang on with RGB at its best - a perfect blend of comedy and horror. Funny enough, it sounds like the concept for the third movie is quite similar - with the original team mentoring the new team.

  • also you never shown the disc art on the bonus disc
