Behind the drums he looks like he's desperately trying not to fart and make a crime scene in his pants, but knowing that only minutes ago he ate bean soup with pickled cabbage on the side..
Woah! I totally didn't expect this much of a wonderful voice from you! When I see you in the Pomplamoose videos, you always seem like...I don't know. You have such a WONDERFUL voice...I hope that didn't sound rude.
Hey Jack , I can't help but notice you stepped your game up recently, production-wise. VS4 sounds amazing, like it's been recorded in a big studio. Is there any interview/blog post/ info summing up the stuff you've learned that made the biggest improvement ? If not, that would make an awesome post for videosongblog!
Jack Conte i am an independent director from australia nsw sydney and im working on an art film and i would really like to use your music. Is there anyway we can talk about it? thank you.
Hey Jack, I agree with the people saying this sounds like Elliott Smith. Both you and Elliott have killer chord changes in your songs reminiscent of Beatles stuff with the vocal harmonies and all. I'm not sure if it is cryptomnesia or coincidence but your this chorus sounds like 'Oh Well, Okay' by Elliott. I really love your work man, inspires me to make more and more interesting music!
At our school we have twice a year 2 evenings were everyone can play some music. I realllly love this song and I was wondering if we could play this song there? Me and a few friends are very enthusiastic cause than we have something else than stones, beatles, nirvana and who else.
JACK!!! i play live piano shows once a week at a local restaurant and i wanted to know if i could play this song? (with due credit given of course) i would love for more people to know about you!!!
@Rhaeide Maybe Jack really only has like 500 EXTREMELY close followers that just watch each video 10 plus times a week to give the illusion of lots of followers.
OKOBOJI????? I have family friends that live there! It's quite a nice place to visit any time of the year... and I always get a sinking feeling when I jump into Spirit Lake
You remind me of Peter Gabriel when Genesis was young. so much creativity, so much work on sounds and effects, and always an unexpected chord progression. Now THAT's talent! you rock our socks, mate, you really do.
Drummer Jack seems a bit maniacal, perhaps a break from the red bull?? Just a suggestion, haha! Love the album, can't wait for my physical copy to arrive! :) QUICKQUICKQUICK DO LONG LONG TIME AGO!!! I'M DYING!
The refrain is just like heaven :D I can hear it over and over again and don't get sick about it :) I really adore your work! Artists that are so true are very rare today. Keep it up! :)
My new favourite of yours! I look up to you, man. You must use some expensive equipment to get that sound...any estimates on the cost for the whole deal? I really want to record my own stuff and have it sound this nice...
Dude the mic that he uses the most (the gray one) is more than a thousand bucks lol.
And his monitors are really expensive too, so yeah if you want an estimate of the cost of his equipment you better be prepared to hear something like 5000 or more lol, actually more way more if you count instruments and video editing software.
Good news is, you can get a decent quality home-recording studio for under 2000. I've spent around 1500 and I still need a bunch of stuff lol.
@produccionesmiranejo Thanks! I did expect to hear something like that, but part of me was hoping for something more affordable. I have many instruments already, but all my recording and editing equipment either sucks or is non-existant..haha
Well, I guess 500 hundred bucks would be good to get started, or even 200 to get the basic stuff, which would be an interface, a mic, cords, and stands. A recording software usually comes with the interfaces.
ok, Jack, you have the coolest music ever. I especially like the Elliot Smith esk stuff (I hope that you don't mind that comparison). But I was wondering with your huge positive seeming personality, where all these different songs with "sinking feelings" (wink) come from? I really like the songs, I am no way criticizing you. Just wondering where it comes from, and why your music with Nataly is so different. I'm sorry if this is a repeat question. :) Keep playing. Your an inspiration to all.
its so funny and awesome how he has that gigantic forced smile while he drums. btw what are those things hes using to drum with? i mean are those like a special kind drum stick or something???
@CalRanger123 - Oh MAN!! you asked me about chords, and i'm a sucker for questions about chords, so i had to make a video explaining my answer: youtube.com/watch?v=6MH4av5rirM&feature=channel_video_title
