Learned about him just yesterday 8/7/2007 as he appears in HBO documentary "White Light/Black Rain" as part of the Pikadon Project. Documentary is about examaning the aftermath of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. His playing is unique.

Before this I'd only heard Kondo alongside DJ Krush. I didn't realize his own work was rather 'different' anyway, as their album 'Ki-Oku' sounded like nothing I've ever heard before.

Is that Denali? The problem is the sound is so synthed it's hard to tell real echo from artificial. Plus, it sounds like a soundstage. Paul Winter's work is more effective in that respect.
