Hi, I m Japanese living in England but am originally from Gifu.

Nina is such a lovely and clever girl, especially very cute when she sings Doragon's song. ;) I have started IVF treatment this week to try to have a baby. I need to take injection everyday by myself for weeks. But I can bear with it if I can have my baby in the near future. Ganbarimasu..!

Nina always encourages me, thank you. If the treatment is going to be successful, I want to make my child billingual like Nina. :)

@Kumakame100 Thanks for the message! I know IVF treatments are expensive, and it can be very stressful while waiting to get pregnant. I know other friends who have done that and did, finally, get pregnant. うちの場合も難しかったですよ。IVFとかはやらなかったけど、­結局2年間ぐらいかかりました。妊娠できたら、僕はもう３９歳で­奥さんは３３歳でした。We get more tired, perhaps, than younger parents, but I also think we are better parents than we would have been when we were younger.

@Kumakame100 good luck, I hope the treatment would be successful. I have been married for nearly a year and have been trying to have a baby since day 1 but to no avail.. I cried and smiled watching Nina, wanted to have one that I can call my own. Hopefully, someday. yeah.

Geoff - decided to look at some of your older videos of Nina - since I have just come back from visiting our grandson Ky. I wanted to compare him to her - which is probably a mistake as each child develops differently than others. I can see from such an early age how advanced she was in her thinking patterns and verbalization of them.

hehe and also Geoff - the difference in the quality of your videos -not your editing or presentation which is always great - just the camera quality  :0)

@groovygrangran Yes, it's really interesting to see how kids develop at their own pace. When Nina was a year and a half or so she seemed far beyond her male friends, especially in terms of language development, but now the boys have suddenly caught up with her.

I'm sure you had a great visit with Ky. Did you take much video? One thing I've found with the zi8 is, while the quality is really good, it is very sensitive to movement, so you have to try to keep your hand very steady.

@geofg no, my parents are both chinese. my dad is hainanese and my mom is hokkien.(different provinces in china)

however, i live in Singapore where the government has implemented english as a first language as well as making a mother tongue compulsory for all students.

thus, from a young age i've been able to speak mandarin and several of its dialects as well as english. i've also had to use both on a daily basis.

i guess it worked:)

@DomDollx It's hard. For one thing, I'm lucky in that I get a lot of vacation time (working at a high school). And, when I do have free time, I mostly spend it with my family. In particular, I don't want to miss these early years in Nina's life.

Thanks, as always. This is one of my favorite of Nina's movies, too. We try to give Nina a lot of attention and a stimulating environment, but I don't know if we really have parenting skills per se, ha ha.
