Hey guys, can anyone point me in the direction of some good jazz instructional videos? Thanks! (I've been playing for about 15 years, mostly metal shred like Vai,so I can handle advanced vids, thanks again!)
@IMBACHABRI harder to play, harder to listen to.....and whats wrong with bein closed minded when what you do with that mind is fucking insane? its all his jazzy bullshit that means eric writes nearly all the riffs in testament. look at the writing credits on their latest release. skolnick has ONE credit for ONE riff. on ONE song. if thats what jazz does to a metalheads mind, count me out.
@finalfantac You're the reason why I love Metal, but hate the scene, it's ridiculous how close minded some of the fans are, I'm willing to say it's worse than the Punk scene was back in the 80's, open your third eye, and listen to some other great music besides Metal, oh by the way I hope you understand that Tony Iommi was greatly Jazz, and Blues influenced, so without Jazz or Blues there would be no Metal.

Ive seen this guy live, he cant play jazz for jack. And all his songs are like much less good versions of existing songs that were made years previously. no offense but stick to metal
sure there are probably better jazz guitarists out there but its not only his skill, its his music and tell me a jazz guy who didnt start off playing old jazz songs, i did jazz at uni and all we did was transform old jazz songs, give the music a go and you will see its good then go listen to Greg Howe
ha, cool - this was my first filming gig and i wanted to get the entire band in the shot so i had to take this camera off the tripod. As you can see, there are jitters and I realized that the tripod is better no matter how many members are in the shot :)
@toodiesel what you need is a tripod with panning capability. I got mine at Best Buy for $70 & it's super smooth, I can pan a full 360 degrees with no noticable jitters, though it doesn't work as smoothly on the tilt side of things :(
Alex is amazing. Can't wait until I see him at TESTAMENT on 2/17

IT makes me laugh when I think of that this guy actually wrote the "Practice what you Preach" solo, and many other Testament solos too!

say these guys open for Rodrigo y Gabriela, they are able to pull off such a diverse range of music very well.

someone please tell me why anyone in their right fucking mind would rather do THIS then play lead guitar in TESTAMENT?!?! it drives me nuts!!!

@finalfantac Jazz is 123914 times harder to play than thrash metal.
Besides Alex wouldn't be genius if he would have close minded music taste.
