that was so fucking dumb dude come on. thats my forklift of choice and it has such perfect visibility points. turn your god damn neck. well i guess osha was invented for a reason. dunno how he passed.
I've been a lift truck mechanic for 25 years and a safety committee member for a long time.
That crash had nothing to do with the operator lifting the pallet jack. He didn't lift it high enough for the mast to stage. Even fully lowered the mast was too high to go through the partially opened door.
oh man, i tried working in receiving. worst week of my life... the pay is horrible and you have to deal with uneducated idiots who would gun someone down to keep their job. I hate picking. I used to just park it and hide in the pillow bin..take a nap on the job and eat beef jerkey free of charge. They never did catch me. I used to take 4 hour lunches and get away with it. I drive a truck now. thk god lol
This happened at our warehouse yesterday but it was a reach truck going through a fire roller shutter after testing the system, hadn't fully gone up yet. Women drivers eh!
So glad this happened to the lazy fat guy. Seriously moving the pallet jack that has wheels is just to much effort? Hope they fired you and hired an illegal mexican. lol sad
@tkoco29 Dude are you on crack? the guy is skinner than a nail - and he was loading the pallet jack on a freight truck...waiting just outside the warehouse door!
@tkoco29, great observation Einstein. Hey lets lift a 100 pound pallet jack with our back onto a truck instead of using the forklift. Better yet, lets walk it 200 yards to the other side of the warehouse instead of using a forklift that goes up to 10mph. Ahhhh I love the ramblings of the unemployed. lol sad.
lmao i wont lie i forgot my forks in the air on my reach and took out some steel shit above one of the passeges from freezer to freezer i almost shit when it came crashing down.. BUT!! lol i did my Do-dilligence and stuffed it behind a rack
@couldbeshouldbe Work up in Canada in the cold winter, and you'll see why sometimes it's just better to just have it open enough to walk through. But yeah, making sure the door is open fully when moving equipment through would be a good idea. I also work in receiving\stock room with several lift machines, and they can be VERY dangerous if you're not paying attention. I've had my close calls. Co-worker managed to take out a sprinkler head.
@WeedPatch71 dont agree you should openthe door when you want it and close it when you dont. Britich health and safety. If you need to walk out side use the pedestrian door.
@couldbeshouldbe Well, for one, I'm in Canada, not Britain. Second, the ONLY pedestrian doors to the outside from our stockroom are emergency exits. So, opening the big receiving door is the only way out without setting off multiple alarms and getting a call from the security company. Half or more of our deliveries don't require the use of machines (ie: Curriers, chips, bread, milk, etc... are offloaded by hand. So opening the door all the way isn't always required, and cost money in heat.
@MrSmileydragon and just how do u expect him to get the pallet jack onto the trailer waiting outside in the yard ???? using MHE is better than doing it by hand and breaking his back .
@MrSmileydragon, Stupid would be lifting a 100 plus pound pallet jack by hand into a 5 foot trailer when the dock isnt elevated. I dont know if you're lazy, but you're deffinately stupid. How does that taste?
The rule at my warehouse is: If an overhead door goes up, it goes up ALL the way

There are 2 possitions for a roller door fully open or fully closed thats why you should never leave one half way up.
