Y'know, I wouldn't mind YouTube bringing the advent of content-full spam -- videos that advertise products, but explain their uses and benefits, while showing cool video. For example, a slo-mo camera maker.
Yo man i have a question i have Sony Vegas Platinum 6.0 and i know how to do the slow motion, but..... it comes out choppy, how did you get it so smooth?
Nice. I'm considering buying the SR300 for $890. This comes with a wide angle and telephoto lens, a tripod, a 2 hr battery, and three filters. Is this a good investment? What exactly are the pros and cons of this camera?
All in all the DCR is a camera I have been pretty impressed with. I forgot to mention the 6.1 mp pictures- great for a camcorder. There are naysayers that claim it has terrible performance in low light, but they must have been filming in the dark. As I mentioned, the downside is few and far between but the fact that an HD camcorder is only a few hundred more can be a little off putting. I don't have a HD set, so the choice was easy for me.
One of my favorite features is the telemacro function which allows for some very clean macro video and photos. There is also spot focus which allows you to touch on the screen where you want to focus, whether that be in the foreground or the background. It works pretty well but I would recommend using a tripod for most of the features.
I have seen videos of the telemacro function. What exactly does it do? I have not noticed a difference. I'm sorry, but could you please explain to me in layman's terms?
Macro is zooming in on small objects such as bugs or coins and getting a really high detailed shot of them. The result is some pretty neat closeups of whatever you may be shooting.
Sorry for reawakening an old topic, but I have one last question that I was unable to find anywhere else. What exactly is the frame size of the image recorded in HQ recording mode? You know, like 1280x720, 720x480, that sort of thing.

Wow, thats quite the package.
The pros:
-Great standard definition video quality in the proper light
-Good performance indoors
-Ease of use
-Optical stabilization (makes a huge difference)
Cons:
-Film can get grainy in poor light (I am talking POOR light here)
-For a few hundred more you can get a HD HDD
