Freaking beautiful. Jeff Loomis is definitely on a completely different level of guitar playing. Normally I don't like instrumental shred albums because (in my opinion of course) they're just pure wank with no intentions of writing a good song. Jeff Loomis did the seemingly impossible by writing killer songs and comibining that with his ridiculous technical ability. I like Laiho for different reasons than Loomis. I enjoy Laiho's playing, because of his flair. He reminds me a lot of Rhodes. Loomis reminds me of the likes of Friedman, occasionally Becker, and Malmsteen. His clarity is unmatched for his speed. Technically, I don't think there is any one out there who can touch Loomis.
