omg! hello sadie i had smoked for just 7 years and quit cold turkey now (no use of patches or nicotine gums) for nearly 6 weeks, I had been suffering really bad anxiety from withdrawal as i went cold turkey, thankyou so much for your videos i just came across and has helped me to relax so much, i have never tried yoga techniques before and was hestitant about going on anti depresants because of their negative side effects, but thankyou so much. I want to loose weight too is yoga good for that? x
I really hope to get your reply soon or any contact with you cos I feel You can give me a great help. I am very upset now because I could not do any thing since panic attacks seem bother me everyday that makes me feel tired and my doctor can not help me any...Thank you so so much for your concern. I hope to get your email so that I can tell you more
My name is Julia. I have been told by my doctor that I got panic attacks and anxiety and I do not want to take any medicines that he gave me because it makes me worse. I just tried your yoga but could you please tell me that to release my panic attack, do I need to practice only this one or I have to do more???how many days should I try. I just tried this one more than 5 mins and suddenly, my hands are sweating, numb at the back of the head so do I tried it more than it should be.thxs
thanks sadie, i've been looking for this kind of video for quite sometime now.yours is the best. thank you. im looking forward to use your video to loose some weight.......i'll let you know how the progress.....
I've been following your videos for about a month now and ran across your yoga for sleep which contains this breathing exercise in it. I have been working with this technique and as someone who suffers from a panic disorder i can it IS magic because boy does it help!
Thank you for this and all of your empowering, relaxing, energizing, fulfilling yoga wisdom and making it accessable to all of us net yogis.
That's SO good to hear! Yoga really helped me with panic attacks when I used to have them--I don't anymore. This breath is POWERFUL against anxiety, and thanks for letting us all know it really works! xoxoSadie
Cool that at least it helps someone! I haven't heard from people with those kind of problems, and how it worked with yoga, I've only heard people quitting yoga because it felt bad for them. I've been thinking of quitting too because I get panicky and depersonalized with all that focus on breath. Hopefully it will get better with practice.
@sadienardini Hi Sadie:) I know this video is about 3 years old but just discovered you on youtube, butI wanted to say that,1stly: you are very very pretty :) & 2ndly: i have just been discovering for myself the beauty of yoga and proper breathing to stop panic attacks which i suffered from for a good 10-15 years. Is always nice to know when we share common experiences i guess:) oh, and i nearly forgot my 3rd hugely important and unshallow point, you are one seriously attractive girl:) x
I know--this is one of those things that is so simple but works SO well. I've used it many times instead of a drink or a Valium...or freaking out at someone. It works better, because it empowers us to do it ourselves. Nothing's better;)
Thanks for all that you do here and elsewhere. Best wishes for a happy new year. I usually do this alternate nostril breathing with the thumb at one side and then the first two fingers at the third eye and the third finger at the other side. :)
oh hey! I read this in a book last night. I think it was called The Tibetan Yogas of Dream and Sleep. It was really interesting! I tried the "9 breaths" last night, and it was extremely calming.
Often recommend this for my clients, great!

Unfortunately I have chronic blocked nasal passages...how can I do the breathing without the nose?
jmusulman 2 years ago
so you say in the begining that it would calm you down in 30 seconds or less,
but you then go on to say to do it for two minutes
WHICH IS IT?
:o

You opened the comment box, had a wonderful opportunity to show there was more to you than hormones, and.....
(I agree totally btw. lol. IknowIknow... I can feel my shallowness acutely. The breathing was a cool thing to teach )
