Why were brakes $69/axle in early 1985 when I can get them done for $25/axle nearly 25 years later??

Maybe it's kinda like how VCRs back then were hundreds of dollars and now they practically have to give 'em away. Reverse obsolescence, if you will.

They probably found a way to make them more efficiently, hence more axles, hence cheaper brakes.
