  • The Edge's voice is incredible... it has a hint of Luke Kelly in there somewhere, which gives the song such a great Irish quality.

  • One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.

  • the first time i heard this song was in the opening credits of rattle and hum...i have never been a huge u2 fan, casual at best. i heard it again just the other day, again on the opening dredits of the film. having taken up the guitar a few years back, i made it my quest to find and learn the song...thanks to utube i accomplished both...sort of. not a very difficult song as far as chords are concerned but edges picking is impossible to replicate. love the song though.

  • I adore this song! :)

  • Van Diemen's Land - U2

  • leur plus belle

  • heard this song when it first came out when i was a boy and it's stuck with me all these years. feels like home.

  • Beautiful the Edge. thank you.

  • Bono NEEDS to step down every once in a while, because The Edge has one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard. Listening to him sing "Love is Blindness" nearly brought me to tears.

  • This is easily one of the most beautiful songs ever written, and The Edge has one of the smoothest voices I've ever heard, and this is one of my favourite songs on the whole album.

It's sad to think that he didn't want this on the album originally, and it was only because bono went behind his back and put it on anyway that it was put on.

  • The Edge's voice is epic

  • i think this song is so powerful because it doesn't have any solos or instrumental breaks

  • Koori Colors... Bless Australia... and world unity...

  • beautiful <3 i love being of irish descent

    fuck U2 haterz

  • beautiful !! :D The Edge is such a wonderful singer :)

  • The Edge should lead sing alot more often

  • Truly captures the essence of the times... I have shivers every time I listen.

  • Only true U2 fans come here...

  • recuerdo mi adolescencia

  • Stop trying to be original, try to be The Edge.

  • Nice Song, but So sad.

  • @idpaipsc The most powerfull songs are....

  • umas belas cançoes q ja ouvi na minha vida. lembra minha adolescencia.

  • really a great song

  • bloody hell you lot talk about peace and love (just reading the comments)

  • @fhhuckyou That's the way the song ends on the album....you colossal piece of shit.

  • That song makes me sad :(

  • those uniform dating ads can feck right off

  • This is probably one of the greatest insults to Australia and music the world could ever conjure.

  • @HammerMcghee it's sung from the heart of a convict you clown.it speaks no ill from the modern man.grow the fuck up or shelve your assumptions

  • A good fucking tune about the irish who wer forced to settle a land for th e lousy english crown

  • is the edge singing??????!!! :O

  • @1976GibsonExplorer holy shit he's even better than i thought! the edge is just out of this world!

  • @achtungbaby28 He is, if you listen closely to some of the other songs you can hear his amazing back-up vocals, and there's a version of Running to stand still that they play live in Chicago I think, and Edge's voice is incredible with Bono's

  • @1976GibsonExplorer oh yeah i used to have that version of running to stand still on my old ipod, its incredible! edge's vocals towards end are just great, i like how bono just stops and llets the edge takeover

  • might be the best song on the album.

  • The Edge is about as good a singer as he is a guitarist

  • no dislikes and 23000 views. Wow.

  • If u can not conceive the consequence of being sent there, then I highly recommend u watch the DVD of the same name - a brutally honest piece of cinema - even though it doesn't explore the genocide that took place - Van Demon's Land

  • amazing song god bless every one

  • WOW....Edge should record a solo album, he could do a lot with that voice. Didn't know hw had it in him.

  • @zDrumz13 Obviously you're a U2 fan and you might already know, but The Edge sang on a song called 'Seconds' off the War album - track 2. Give that a listen and it's good, but his voice is probably better on this however.

  • one of the few song that bono doesn't sing lead...the edge has a good voice

  • makes you wanna cry...U2 rules!!!

  • Belo!!! Leve!!!

  • *****

  • saying goodbye can be so sad. longing for someone
