I must agree with Mr. Gatersaw. Mr. Eastwood himself (as opposed to his screen persona which, oddly, couldn't be further from the straight-talking and soft-spoken truth) is the quintessential example of the honest, hard-working American spirit--something sorely lacking from today's media, politics and public consiousness. Mr. Eastwood is a personal hero of mine for the reasons listed above and for his irrepressible individuality. Plus his favorite Kurosawa film is "Red Beard"--same as me! ;)

Cheers, mate. We live in a time where our people assume entitlement and feel they are deserved of everything...what happened to hard work and pride in what we do? Eastwood is a dying breed, and I find that quite disheartening.

Seriously; is there anyone else that speaks as honestly as Mr. Eastwood? This man is beyond an American icon; he is a world icon. God Bless this great human being and may we all follow his example. I personally thank you, Mr. Eastwood for your resolve and effortless example of an honest American.
