It was about who governed the land. Consequently, where ever this has happened, the native people realized a drastic IMPROVEMENT in their standard of living.
I know a lot about German history..and you are wrong..this film is about 97% accurate.
You need to do some more research on Polish history and the oppression by the Prussians in Poland...read up on the Hague Peace Conventions of 1899 and 1907.

The reason it's focus is on Germany is because in both World Wars it was Germany that was singularly responsible for starting them and in each case Germany was the controlling member of its alliance.
Without Germany there would never have been a World war one or world war two. They wanted world hegemony and even clashed with the USA in the Phillipines and over the Monroe Doctrine...they basically irritated everyone ....including their own allies.
I agree with you that Germany was mostly responsible. However, I think if Britain was perhaps a little bit more diplomatic in their approach to the changing continental european climate they could have stopped both wars.

It's accurate in that what it says is true...
But it is also a simplistic, narrow presentation that is ultimately unfair to the German people (even if it's perfectly fair to the Nazis).
Remember! Hitler and the Nazis never once received a majority vote from the public. That's why they burned the Reichstag & seized dictatorial powers.
Also, it completely leaves out the rest of Europe's role in German history.
