There's a great article in Time magazine about youtube. Youtube execs are quoted as saying they're in competition with TV. They want to replace television, they don't realize that its a completely different medium despite the similarities.

@NickBravoReturns _Heya! i agree, this is so much different than TV. It basically has replaced TV in my life, as general TV has become unvalued with me. i've found myself opting out of viewing shows so that I may be here, commenting and interacting with You and others. This social environment, though just data transfer holds my interest far more than just sitting in front of a screen without any real interaction.

One thing they should observe about TV though. It's rarely! a white screen~

YouTube is about self expression for a lot of us. And, having a pleasantly colored background was definitely a plus for artists like myself. I will miss it a lot. However, I will not miss the cluttered layout of information on the older channel page layout. I think we should have both nice colors and designs along with the neater layout of information.

@MoonMysty _I honestly agree... I'm okay with the cleaner layout, but I really do want, also, the ability to customize as well :o) Cheers !!!

We had the choice to watch the videos from someone's profile page (where it is not necessarily white) but now even if you are on their profile page once you click to view a video...it takes you to the white video viewing page where the comments are.

I am not thrilled with the new format. Thanks for posting!

@hipretty _Heya :o) Thanks for the comment! Yah... I'm still definitely not thrilled with the new format either. i do have a plug in for my Chrome browser and also my Firefox Browser that is called, "Turn Off the Lights" that dims while the vids play, but when I want to comment or anything else, it's back to what ever Youtube offers us for our own channel customization~ Thanks again and Peace =oD
