Hey Robert! Good job on this video. You've done well and I'm happy for you. Who would have thought when we were skinny little kids growing up in Roxton that we would be where we are today. Be well, my old friend and keep spreading the joy, as is so apparent in the feedback of your fans. You were meant for this very thing.
I have known Robert since my high school days back in the 60's. He was one of the most talented folks way back then. We even played together for a short time. Be safe my friend. Rick
RJ!! Ahh I miss you! Haha I saw that part when you had your mustache and it reminded me of how I used to be afraid of it. Oh man I smiled all through this video. Miss you RJ!
I hadn't heard anything about RJ since the mid 80s - the last time I saw him perform at the VFW in Bonham Texas. I had Googled his name after having seen the name "Robert Joe" in something else online and it jogged my memory f him. It's good to see he's using all that talent. I figured he'd faded into the sunset - I should have known better.
I was in charge of the entertainment at a regional Veterinary convention. I had not met RJ, but found out about him word of mouth. Saw his act on a large theater stage, then hired him for the convention. Our event was held in a typical hotel convention room. RJ transitioned everything well. The audience was of varied origin, but everyone LOVED his act. Even if you only hired him to sing he would be a great investment. I highly recommend his work. Dallas Gwin
I've known Robert Joe Vandygriff since 1975 and this is one talented, talented man. He is a good man also and never really met a stranger and above all, he is a cowboy. He puts on a show and if you haven't seen THE COWBOY AIN'T DEAD YET you have missed something very special and unique. When this show is in your area treat yourself and go see it. No need to be a cowboy to enjoy it either, just be alive and appreciate humor, talent and stage presence because it's all there. PETE PETERSON
Thank you for preserving the spirit.
Will find your show.
Godspeed!
