I really like what Jay Noone is doing. These are local FIEFDOMS, that set themselves up to extort money from people in order to RULE over them. It's simply not NEEDED. People can cooperate to build sewer systems, etc. (or better yet, properly manage their own small systems). MOSTLY, money is collected to engender a BRUISING police presence, and to build schools that waste kids' time.
Judge should be arrested for filing a false police report--unless he testifies you were pointing a GUN at him, or something similar, while you were asking questions :)
He is right, the boot of government is on our neck. I felt this way when living in Massachusetts and feel more freedom in North Carolina, since moving here.
Glad you're doing this. Less talking head, more video...would help. Video from the field or even file video...generally trumps studio and production. Shots of things happening or even things just sitting there trumps interview talking head. Jason you'll do better as an anchor by letting yourself be a little more amused and a little less serious....long as the subject matter isn't deadly or something. You look good on the air mostly. Voice is pretty good. Heika looks better :)
The land owner said, "We're all back to slaves!". Though I agree with him, I really think he should have worded it differently. When you word stuff like that, people will just disregard him because they will think he's comparing his situation to plantation slavery.
Of course, such people are wrong, but, we can't win people over for our movement if we don't use tact when we talk.
@ninetales1234 It's just like how right-libertarians use phrases like, "The Fed printing money is a violent act," or something to that extent; maybe it gets your point across but it doesn't win you any supporters and just makes you look like a nutcase.
@jeremyccouch You can own property, you just have to pay taxes on it. And there's a reason why capitalists want it to stay that way; without the state (taxes fund the state) the entire capitalist system would fold in on itself for a number of reasons.
@juliaisafilmbuff123 Renters do not own the property. They live there and control it with some limitations imposed by the owner and pay rent. If they do not pay the rent they are forced out and the property is taken back by the owner.
Replace the word renter with taxpayer and explain to me how it is I can own property.
@jeremyccouch The modern nation-state was a capitalist creation. The reason you pay tribute to the state is so that the capitalists will be protected. Technically, you control the property you own but do not use because of a state-enforced contract. Without the state, you wouldn't be able to own anything you didn't occupy and use yourself because the burden of proof wouldn't be there. What you need to do is define "ownership".
@juliaisafilmbuff123 But who protects you from "the state"? I have had my property burglarized 3 times in my life. The cumulative total taken was probably less than $2000. On the other hand I have had my checking acct emptied once, and had my "wages" garnished a few times by the terrorist organization known as the IRS (or "the state" if you like). I can tell you "the state's" intrusion was much more disruptive - and immoral IMHO.
Whats a redress of grieveance?

At 21:00 - just asking, but if a landlord had evicted that tenant, would the free staters have treated it in the same way?

@ninetales1234 I believe he did explain that by saying we're like slaves in that we can't actually own property.
