Sorry there is one gt-r said to have done just a millisecond under 7:30. Carrera GT also does it in 7:28 and the Zonda F at 7:27. As the GT-R was heavily modified the Viper had ONLY changed the racing seat to put in a 6 point harness for security. And the dumbasses who wrote things like no they changed the suspension, no. dumass. All ACR Vipers come with an adjustable suspension, they only stated that they had adjusted it to the nurburgring's road style.

Fastest production car? Not even close. One of the quickest, but it runs out of breath at 100MPH. In the Road & Track road test against the Z06 and 911 Turbo the 0-60 times were identical. At 0-100 the GT-R was more than a half second slower. By 0-120 it was a full 2 seconds slower. It will do well on tight tracks but will have a lot of trouble keeping up on higher speed tracks. The Viper SRT-10 ACR will beat it on both.

You guys obviously know nothing because it's already official that the VIPER ACR AND THE VETTE, SMOKED! I SAID SMOKED! that got damn rice shitbox (sorry for the gt-r fans). It took a VERY modified gt-r to get a track record of 7:38 on the nurburgring which was by far the best. where as the stock zr1 did it in 7:24 (with space for improvement) and the Viper ACR at 7:22, need I say more?

Sure did. And Nissan isn't denying it either. Just don't say it's a horrible car or that it cheated. Everything advances. Whether it's thru aerodynamics, or power, the Viper and ZR1 beat it. And that's the way the world turns. Maybe a year from now another GT-R will hold the record. Who knows?

Going from cars who were focused on going in a straight line, to the first year decided to build cars focused on the track. And they blew the competition away. It' deserves merit. u cant beat light an nimble mate watch high ocetane detonate a little series 5 mazda rx7 with 1.2l two rotor turbo only 450hp smoked an ill say that again smoked a 600hp bathurst v8 track car. im not doubting muscle cars or v8s they are powerfull but they only good in straight line
