Benin Orphanage

It sickens me to my stomarch when we always compair countries as if we expect every countries and people to be the same,Benin is unique in her being and I hope we OVERSTAND that. Just as BLACK and WHITE are different in colours and way of life so countries are. Thanks

@slynosa I think I know what you mean. The reason I took this approach was to help my audience (mostly people who have never traveled abroad) see the striking differences between Canada and Benin. I agree completely Benin is unique and full of culture and beauty, but it is facing some challenges as well. For example the orphanage we are supporting is made of mud with a bamboo fence enclosure that floods in the rain. The directors want a safer, more solid home for the kids but can't afford it

I know French is the official language of Benin, but dus that mean that every Benin citizens speaks French?

Pretty much yeah. But many people speak Fon as their main language.

thanks for your reply. but is it possible that a person from benin who didnt attend school but lives in a village not speakin french but only his mother language? like from the north of benin?

@y2ksrap Yes. There are people all throughout Benin who don't speak french or only a very little bit of French.
