do you now if you press alt while you have hold an object you can place it anywhere out of grid and if you hold the right mouse button and hold alt and move mouse when you are about to place an object you can rotate it at any degrees

@randomdotification If youre in playing mode (live mode) you can switch to build/buy mode while still playing with your sims. You can then add furniture and build your house. When switching though all it does is it will pause your game until you switch back to live mode. And then you can continue playing with your upgraded house.

@josipbabok2 first go to build mode and then (if your playing on a laptop) click on the object with the left button and then just spin it whichever way you want with the touch pad. and if your playing on a desktop computer use your mouse .. click on the object and spin it.....

@DavidVilla8683 Hey D.Villa you are in live mode and need to be just in control of now family so you need to exit to neighbourhood on your game and then don't enter a family or click to control just go to an empty lot and you should be able to build on it with infinite funds. Enjoy!
